Motor at the Harley-Davidson Museum Ratings and Reviews
The menu descriptions and food choices were appealing. The french fries were hot, but the meat was just warm and the barbecue sauce was okay tasting. The waiter was friendly but didn't check if we needed any refills or how our food was until we finished eating.
It was quite busy and service was slow - didn't seem to be enough servers for the number of people in the restaurant.
My bill was not correct and took a while to correct.
I go to Motor often for the music on Saturday nights. I will continue to go but hope that the service issues improve.
Had a great night at Motor. We both got barbecue platters and they were very good. Perfect early autumn evening on the patio- couldn't have been more relaxing. Very reasonable prices for very good food, and good beer selection. Was kinda dead there for a Saturday, like folks don't think to go there! Just well done all around.
We had made a reservation as part of our anniversary celebration after touring the Harley-Davidson Museum. We were seated immediately and then we waited an inordinate amount of time for wait staff. The live music was excellent but a bit too loud for the small space. We had difficulty communicating with the wait staff because of the high noise level. The food was served promptly, was of adequate proportions, and was priced fairly. The main course was fine, but we regretted ordering the peach cobbler for dessert. It was too tart and was not cooked long enough. Management did compensate our bill for that. Although it would probably be fine to stop into the bar for a sandwich at lunch time, I would not go out of my way to eat at this restaurant again for a special occasion.
I've been to Motor several times and it has not disappointed. Good service and food. And you can't beat its location - right across from the Harley Davidson Museum. Great place to bring out of town guests. Motor's design and special "H-D" touch are also worth the visit. The whole "Harley" thing is a fun experience. And outside there are lots of (privately-owned by visitors) bikes to gawk at.
Food and service were stellar! Came from Chicago and would highly recommend Motor to anyone going to or in the Milwaukee area, even if they are not Harley-Davidson fans. The restaurant is right on the water with beautiful scenery. They have an outstanding outdoor patio! Food was delicious I recommend the fried pickles and the loaded BLT sandwich, both very good!
I have had good experiences overall at Motor, however, this particular instance I was allowed to make a reservation at Motor only to arrive there and find a sign on the door stating that the restaurant was closed for a private event. Please make sure to update online reservations when planning to close your business for private parties. Luckily we were able to get a table down the street at Soblemans for burgers and bloodys
I go to Motor nearly every Saturday for live music - am so happy they have it. Since I'm there so often and have dinner, it would be nice to see a few more options on the appetizer and sandwich menu. And also having individual pizzas with meat or pepperoni would be great. They do one flatbread pizza but with no meat.
I also feel the wine is terribly overpriced.
Quite disappointing. Mixed drinks tasted odd and appeared only 1 bartender servicing bar and wait staff orders. Once at the table all meals brought to table except 1. It wasn't until I went looking for the 6th persons meal they realized 1 was still missing . They had no idea they hadn't served the table complete. Meals were nothing extraordinary.
All in all over rated.
Came for the music and dining...reserved a high top table so we could dine
and enjoy the music...none were available, so they put us in the dining room
My meal BBQ was good, my wife's BLT sandwich was ok at best.
They have room for improvement when it comes to overall quality of food.
The meal was excellent and the service prompt and friendly. It was just a bit too chilly to eat outside when we went, but Motor boasts a great view of the river and has a wonderful river-walk that runs along the Harley Museum grounds. The bar is fun and features some great specialty beers. The monthly specials are always interesting. Highly recommend this place for bikers and non-bikers alike!
Went on a Sat. evening for a dinner date. Date attempted to order several different drinks (on the drink menu) but they were out. Took 3 separate times before they actually had something she wanted. Very frustrating for a bar not have it fully stocked and having date reorder several times just to have waitress come back to advise they were out of that. Overall Food was good and so was atmosphere.
Experience was great. My family got together for my husband's 71 st Birthday. Kimberly was our server and she was fantastic. We've been at Motor several times, and the service is always consistent. Please go and enjoy the sites and the view of the city. It's all good, even if you don't ride!
We were looking for a Fish Fry and I remembered Motor. We arrived early and they seated us right away. Yay! Our server was awesome and very attentive. The soups were very good and the fish was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the fries. They were way over salted. $13.95 for a fish fry is a little steep for my Milwaukee mindset.
Other than that, we had a great experience.
Made reservations for a fish fry Friday nite at 6pm. I expected a crowd, but the place was not too busy. Plenty of parking very close to the entrance. Got there a few minutes early and was seated immediately. Waitress was cordial and attentive. Had a couple drinks before we ordered. Food arrived within a few minutes. Fish, fries and coleslaw were good. The waitress brought more fish before my first plate was finished. I appreciated not having to ask / wait for a second helping.
We went with friends for a Friday Fish Fry.
We have tried it may times over the last few years.
Fish and fries were very good this time!
All you can eat is a nice feature for some of our group.
Remain disappointed with the corn bread. IN the past you got a square of warm, honey glazed with jalapeno bits slice of corn bread. They have not had this the last couple of times. The cold muffin was not even close.
