The signature “Butter Chicken”, has come to be known as one of the most renowned dishes in the world. “Tandoori Chicken”, "the most eye opening item to come out of the oven" is the legacy of the Moti Mahal restaurant chain. “Daal Makhani”, or “Kaali Daal”, is "deeply, truly luxurious" and here at Moti Mahal Delux, can make you go "wobbly with happiness". Another Moti Mahal Delux signature is the Masala, a fragrant curry prepared with a choice of goat brain, crab, chicken or shrimp.
This sophisticated and upscale restaurant with a "comfortable modern dining room" and "attentive and courteous" service offers a one of a kind Mughlai fine dining experience.
Neighborhood favorite. Consistently good food and excellent service. Will go back again and again.
The food and service is always amazing.
this is a delicious neighborhood find for AMAZING Indian food...Such a great find...excellent service, great food, great value...we will be back...
This place is a home away from home. Taste that entices every palate in your mouth. Yepp i mean it and i enjoyed my meal in here comprehensively. Kudos the chef and the entire staff. Good job. Definitely going to be my go to spot.
What a find. In from San Diego on business and found this place and had a great dinner. The wine pairing by the owner was spot on as was the suggested menu items. A spot to put in your contacts and to return to.
Super small hole in the wall. Very tight space. Food choices were ok, weren’t impressed. Portion size was prices aren’t worth it. We will try Bhatti next time.
The chicken in the chicken tikka seemed overcooked.
We liked the place a lot. Food is delicious and service very nice. The only potential downside may be that if you plan to go with kids, there is not a lot they can eat since food tends to be spicy (even if it says nothing about spiciness).
However, I would go again and would also recommend it.
The food actually was pretty good however we were fairly choking on some sort of perfume or room freshener. It was difficult to taste our food or wine. Your better off ordering beer instead wine; it’s pretty bad. Service was strangely absent given the ratio of staff to customers.
Take out might be the best bet.
Great food, service was good but we had to remind them to bring several items we had orders, tight cozy space and very loud, but great for casual good Indian food
We love the good and the service is incredible
The staff is very kind and their butter chicken is delicious, great spot.
Yummy food, some of the best I have eaten in NY for Indian cuisine! Ambience is great. Can not go wrong with the food. Pudina parantha was one of the best I have had in my life (and I have had some good ones!)
Great food!
Tandoori Dishes we're excellent but Naan(s) didn't meet expectations. Butter Chicken and other dishes were as expected.
Service was so good! They treated us like family
Best Indian in the city!
Delicious food so so service. A dish they claimed was low salt was extremely salty.
Everything was fine, food come very fast
GOOD service
Wonderfully Inexpensive top quality Indian cuisine with the best butter chicken I've ever tasted and tasty Tandoori lamb chops to die for. We ordered five dishes and shared. Everything was delicious. One of the best Indian restaurants In Manhattan.
Amazing food and service! Will definitely come back!
Delicious food. You won’t be disappointed.
Exceptional flavor and a well chosen menu, with constant favorites as well as new selections! Love the mustard flavored grilled fish - pairs well with the Torrontes white wine (also a nice staple on the menu!) —- knowledgeable and friendly staff, great care and attention to detail. A good place to dine frequently and to take guests - you know this won’t ever disappoint!
I tell everyone I know about this marvelous place. Everything from the extraordinary North Indian food to the courteous service, the subtle decor and quiet atmosphere create a sublime experience.
The butter chicken is amazing! It's probably the best I've had. The rest of the food was very good, but I will be having dreams of how good the butter chicken was.
Food and service were fantastic. The black daal is delicious, as well as the lacchar parantha and buttee naan.
There is a problem on a cold night when sitting in the front room. The outside door doesn’t close quickly and too much cold air passes thru.
The food was good. The service was less than mediocre. WARNING! The makeshift ramp to enter is a rubber mat covering steps. It is dangerous and a safety hazard.
Very delicious food! Best Saag Paneer I have had! And it was delicious day two! Kind and helpful staff! When I am back in the city, it will be a place to return too!
Service was a bit on the slow side but the food was delicious - the bass on the music sound track was intrusive
We have always enjoyed the food , very flavorful and good size portions. The service is excellent, we have always felt the manager to care of us as we were family. I recommend it highly
Excellent authentic cuisine in a lovely atmosphere. Good service. The chicken tandoor and the lamb chops are wonderful.
Very disappointing meal. I’ve been there 5-6 times and had far superior meals. Service haphazard,
One of our go to places for Indian food. They have the best Sag (spinach) Chicken and naan... buttery and just the right amount of spice!! Yummy!!
Best Indian food on the UES. Great service and try all of the fish dishes! Onion naan is out of this world and this is one of the rare restaurants that has Torrontes on the wine list!
Loved this place. Indian food downtown has dived but this spot is worth traveling uptown to get my fix. Beautiful paneer specialties. Dal to die for. Flavors spot on. Everything fresh! Bread done right. Ambience date friendly. Only complaint is mint chutney not the sparkiest but I will be back to go through every item on menu. The wine list is unfortunate but the $20 corkage fee I’m happy for so I can drink what I want. My new Indian resto love.
Bad food and service looked unclean
Great food in a small space with not incredibly attentive service but reasonable prices
It's OK if you are in the neighborhood. Amazing lamb chops. Otherwise just OK. Have eaten here several times, and this review reflects an overall opinion of the restaurant
very disappointed . We used to eat at Moti Mahal a lot. On this visit we found the quality of the food is no longer as high as it was when they opened the restaurant. Not one dish was up to par. Sad.
