   Friendly, attentive service and excellent food made for a great dining experience. We enjoyed the samosa for appetizer, chicken makani, tandoori chicken and the signature dish for main courses. The onion kulcha and garlic nan were tasty as was the basmati rice.

   We had a very surprising night as we didn’t know what to expect from a restaurant we tried for the first time. For appetizers we had PALAK PATTA CHAAT and KHUMB KEBAB. I have to say that we loved the smoke taste on the KHUMB KEBAB. For main course we had the MEEN CURRY and the SHRIMP MASALA, from which the MEEN CURRY was absolutely outstanding! Will be back again!

   This review is for Vegetarian food ONLY. Understaffed, if you have tasted the original, then keep your expectations low. Food is decent but nothing like the original, We went on Saturday evening around 7pm. Service was too slow. Except for 1 server no one was bothered about delays. Food came out just warm but by the time all menu items were served most of the food had turned cold. Saag Paneer is the best choice, both Dal options are just ok. many better options are available in the city.

    This is my go to restaurant when I’m in NYC. Everything is delicious. My party shared a couple of orders of the Samosas and Garlic Naan to start. The Butter Chicken and the Chicken with Cashew gravy were perfectly seasoned and the Vegetable Biryani was spicy and addictive.

    Nice intimate space. The room is both open and pleasant. Food is outstanding. We had butter chicken (Murgh Makhani) and spicy minced lamb (Rarha Gosht) dishes along with Golgappa shots. Everything was tasty, delicious, with the proper hint of spices. Great garlicky garlic Naan. Everything is better with Indian Beer and we tried both the Kingfisher and the 1947 Lager. Service was pleasant, but the night we were there the restaurant was understaffed and it was easy to tell the staff was a bit tired. No matter. The food more than made up for it. Excellent value for money. Dinner reservations are a must.

    Food was amazing and service was very attentive and friendly - great dal makhani, my favorite dish and what we had gone for! The outdoor area had nice ambiance and was great for a cooler breezy summer night, we will be back!

    I have eaten here many, many times and enjoyed it immensely. This time the food was so spicy hot, none of us could tolerate it. Even with the yogurt supplied by the accommodating waiter, we were on fire! Now we won’t go back which is sad.

    Always an outstanding experience at lunch! My colleagues and I are typically 6-7 people who dine monthly, and we look forward to the surprise of what's on the menu for each visit. Everything is deeply flavorful, prepared and served beautifully, and the staff anticipate every need from start to finish. Attention to every detail makes the experience a delight, every time.

    This restaurant is absolutely spectacular! Our server was polite and efficient, and the food was SO delicious. My friend and I had the prefix lunch, which is several different dishes and EVERY dish was scrumptious! This restaurant is a gem and I plan to return often. Cheers!

    This was our first time dining here. Service was a bit distant and disinterested. The stringy okra fritters we began with were very dry and tasteless. However, the butter chicken and the vegetable melange were nicely spiced and quite delicious. We ordered a bottle of Provencal rose from the menu, but were given something else instead with no explanation; however, the wine they served us was fine. Prices seemed fair for what we ordered. Would we go back? Maybe.

    The food was beyond terrible - excessively spiced, spinach chaat was hard as a rock and most of the food tasted incomprehensible from the other. A shame since this used to be a reliable spot for Indian food in Nyc. The service was extremely spotty since the staff was limited and distracted.

    MMD serves excellent food and aims to please. The sea bass was extraordinarily delicious. The chicken and spinach was a little light on chicken but also quite tasty. The eggplant was also very good. When the spinach seemed a little bland, our server offered to spice it up and it came back from the kitchen perfectly. This is not run of the mill common Indian fare. They take the time to make it special. We all enjoyed and we will come back, which is not something I say about many NYC restaurants.
