Our waiter John was outstanding, a reminder of what excellent old school restaurant professional service is and how nice it is to find it. All of the staff were really excellent, very professional, which makes Higgins a great dining experience.

New Year’s Day Brunch was wonderful. Great Mimosas, Fabulous mushroom soup with the flavor of many wild mushrooms. The Eggs Benedict were served with a frisée salad with a simple but elegant dressing. The Beignet we shared for desert were piping hot and went well with the pear sauce and crème anglaise. I highly recommend Brunch at Marche Restaurant in Eugene.

Great brunch, cocktails and service. I agree with other diners’ reviews about the added charge with the strange explanation. It’s an extra 16% but it isn’t a gratuity? And what is a “commission” in this context? Sounds like the restaurant needs to just pay their people a living wage and add nothing extra to the bill, or include a gratuity. We were confused and weren’t sure if the amount we added to bring the extra amount up to 25% was sufficient for our server, who did a great job.it’s an odd thing to feel when you leave a restaurant…
