Moshi Moshi Sushi Ratings and Reviews
We've been here before and we like the creativity of the menu. Their handrolls are a good example Also, they do traditional dishes, like takoyaki, quite well. Their version compared admirably to the times we've eaten it in Japan. The critical tests of sashimi quality came up strong - maguro, hamachi and uni. Perfect maguro, very good (though slightly too moist) hamachi and fresh (not rancid) uni, all had the necessary fresh flavor. Their sake selections are numerous, accurately described and just great. Our server was well attuned to how we wanted to eat our meal, and everything showed up promptly (yes, it was a Wednesday night, but they had a decent number of patrons, so we came away quite happy.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and we give the service a 5 ONLY because our waitress worked exceedingly hard under less than ideal conditions. She was the ONLY waitress working the downstairs level....setting up , bussing, taking orders and delivering them ....ridiculous ! If this was was the way it was scheduled then there had better be an improvement in scheduling if you want to continue building a client base...if it was just a short staff night then a restaurant manager or owner should have taken to the floor to help !
Moshi Moshi used to provide very good sushi at reasonable prices, right in the heart of Ballard. After a change in ownership, it went dowhill for a while and we stopped going. But reading positive recent reviews made us give it another try. We enjoyed excellent fish, very good service and an easy, enjoyable evening. The price was a bit higher, though not out of line for what we got. Good old Moshi Moshi is back. Will return soon!
Came with my wife from Leavenworth to meet our son and his girlfriend in Ballard.
We made reservations after reading about the great reviews online. Boy, they were right on! We ordered a total of 8 items and every one was a hit. The bluefin tuna was the best I had in Seattle. The rest was excellent as well.
We will be back very soon!
The sashimi was amazing. It literally melted in your mouth. We had to order more it was so good. We also had their signature roll and the rainbow roll. Both were fantastic. The wait staff was kind and attentive. My only issue was the number of young kids when we were dining. I have been here a handful of times and it has been more of an adult dining experience. It was still great.
I really enjoyed my meal. I was looking for high quality fish and that is what I got. The waiter was pleasant and the service was very adequate. Really no compñaints, although we really only ate standard Japanese fare (sushi, sashimi, gyoza, edaname). They have a pretty extensive list of food on the menu- much of it sounds terrific but we did not want a lot of food.
Went here for a friends' Valentine's day dinner. The service was fantastic, we had our appetizers out quickly and the sushi followed suit. The food was delicious and presented in a really fun way. Had the Tuna Love roll and the calamari - they were both great. The ambiance is super fun with a cool tree with lights in the middle of the sushi bar.
Went for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately they didn't do anything about this despite me notifying them a couple times - just the waiter acknowledging it would have been nice. Sushi was excellent, although the portions are quite small in comparison to some other local places. Can get quite crowded/noisy as it's a popular spot. Overall one of the better sushi places as long as you're not too hungry.
