The previous reviews were great and so we thought we'd check it out. Unfortunately the food was just average.
We wanted to finally have a nice meal out, made a reservation. Greeted and seated promptly, and everyone was wearing masks until the food arrived. Food items that were meant to be hot were, and sushi was fresh and very good.
We had reservations and were seated on time. Nice atmosphere, good friendly service and yes
The food was FABULOUS!!
Delicious rolls, quiet restaurant during happy hour, and so-so service. We didn't feel welcomed, and were seated in the very back of the restaurant by the bathrooms. Even though the place was empty.
Again, a great experience at Moshi Moshi. We love the creative rolls and the quality of the fish. Can’t wait to go back!
The chefs choice sushi platter for two was a great date night dish. Special shout out to our server Jake who was very friendly and attentive!
I took my partner here for a date and was very impressed! Our food was delicious and service was great. The restaurant is also very pretty! We loved the cherry blossom lighting sculpture.
Great HH prices, super friendly staff, and yummy sushi!!
Decent sushi, got us in right away, initial food from kitchen came within 10 minutes. I have eaten there several times and this was by far the worst service. Server initially forgot drink order. Then no refills. Waited 40 min for a sushi roll. Server had no sense of urgency, didn't offer anything in the meantime and we had a 2 yr old who was getting frustrated. Finally, after checking on status of the roll and being told it was not even being made yet, we cancelled the order and got the check.
Hello, We're very sorry to hear about your poor experience. We strive to get orders out as quickly as possible but a challenge with sushi is we can only make 1 item at a time, which creates a wait when many people order simultaneously. I am surprised you were told that your item was not being made because when your server checked it was literally in the process of being made when she said you no longer wanted it. We apologize for the confusion and hope you'll come back soon.
Hostess was very disorganized. He forgot we had a reservation. Service was slow and they delivered in random fashion and our app at the end of the meal. Disappointing.
Such great sushi!! Everything was fantastic! We informed our server that we had a show to go to, so we were a little time constrained. He was so accommodating in letting us know how long certain items would take, and that he would give us the bill early so we could scram when we needed to. Even though we were in a rush (bad timing on our part), we wholeheartedly enjoyed every bite!
Glasses, our server, was amazing! We can’t wait for the next time we get to eat there.
Thank you for the great kudos! We love Glasses too! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic!!!
Great night! Food came out fast, delicious, and server was very kind! :)
I've been going to Moshi Moshi for 15 years - it's one of the originals on Ballard Ave - and I still love it. Fresh seafood, wide variety, lively atmosphere. With the increased population, it's a good idea to make reservations (which I did not need to do 15 years ago!) Enjoy!
We celebrated our 24th anniversary at Moshi Moshi and it did not disappoint. Service was outstanding and the food so delicious. Super fresh fish, we tried the tataki, the omakase and 3 rolls. So Good.
Great Happy Hour!
The food was good, but service was extremely slow. It took about 10 mins to get our drinks. We ordered our food and waited 30 mins for apps. The miso soup never came, apps and main dishes arrived all at the same time. I ordered 3 different kinds of sashimi, but received nigiri instead. Waiting for a refill on a beverage took about another 10 mins. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded, but maybe they need more than one server. The bill took 20 mins to arrive. All in all, our reservation was for 7:45 and we left close to closing. More time was spent sitting and waiting than anything.
All in all the quality of the fish was good. I would suggest going if you have time to kill.
My husband and I ordered several rolls and different types of nigiri sushi and found them to taste rather salty. Based on other reviews remarking that the sushi was great, we were surprised by this as well as disappointed.
A hidden jem. One of the unsung best sushi places in greater Seattle.
Nice, fresh, tasty but under staffed. I would be happy to go back again.
While the sushi was fine and the black cod just okay, I would give Moshi Moshi Sushi zero stars for service if I could. We received a nice greeting when we arrived, but then our server was terrible. Terrible. She'd disappear for long periods of time, leaving us to wonder what would happen next. She'd reach awkwardly across the table to pour drinks instead of just walking to the other side of the table. She was sullen and unfriendly, never a smile and seemed put out to bring us our food. It made all of us feel completely uncomfortable. Even my 20-year-old sons commented on it, which means it was really bad. She should not be working in a service industry. Our $200 dinner was a waste.
Karen, We're very sorry to hear of your poor experience while dining with us. We believe it takes an entire team to create a great dining experience - from the food and drinks to the ambience and service. We have the utmost confidence in our staff but if we fell short of our goals during your visit we sincerely apologize. We'll discuss your experience with our team as an opportunity for improvement. Thank you for your feedback. You are also welcome to email us at hello@ anytime.
Very skimpy on the fish that they put on their nigiri and rolls. Razor thin slices despite paying high prices for the sushi. Very disappointing
The best sushi in the area! And an excellent service too. Kids friendly:)
Really high quality fish, terrible sushi cuts and knife skills. Sushi rice was dry and had very starchy texture. In particular the bad cuts on the sashimi and nigiri were very glaring. I found multiple pieces of tendon, skin and bone across the sashimi and nigiri I was eating. The cuts were visually unappetizing as well, often with weird stringy bits.
Great food but food took forever, even with only a handful of customers.
Sushi is good. Sake seems pricey by the bottle. Staff decided to scold my daughter for playing with her chopsticks, which I had just corrected her about seconds before. Wasn’t a great end to an expensive birthday celebration. If other options are available I’d probably choose to go elsewhere.
Food was good but I ordered noodles and they came cold, from the fridge. Very disappointed. When I asked the server if it's a cold dish, she said no and apologized and asked if we wanted to take that home since they throw it away witch we said.yes, but the noodles never came back so I assumed they reheated them and bring them back as a need fresh dish. I don't recommend it!
I'm very sorry you had a poor experience. I assure you all of our entrees are served fresh. If your dish was cold likely it waited too long before being brought to you, which should not have happened. Forgetting to bring your item to-go is also an oversight and very unusual for our staff. We certainly do not re-serve items. I would appreciate an opportunity to discuss your experience in more detail to see how we could have done better. Please feel free to email or call us. Thank you.
Great food and wonderful service. Would come here again.
Forgot to give the soup first. Food was slightly at room temperature but regards to taste, it’s good
The rolls were delicious!
Food was great. Price was great. The only thing to keep in mind is weekday happy hour is only from 9-close, which is actually 10pm! We thought we had some extra time.
The weekend close time is later so you have plenty of time for happy hour.
Excellent sushi.. and great location on Ballard Ave. We will definitely be back!
Really good food and nice wait staff.
Great spot & delicious fish.
This is a terrific place . Four of us celebrated our daughter-in-law's birthday and were completely charmed by the food, the ambiance and most importantly the staff. All the people from the waiter to the host to the chef were attentive to our party's special dietary restrictions and we all felt very well cared for.
And the food and drinks are some of the best I've ever had.
We will return.
Food was excellent. Our waiter was attentive. Overall a great place. Just watch out for the fire hydrant when parking. We got a $47 ticket. The darned thing was painted dark green and blue; we didn’t see it.
So delicious! This easily just became my new favorite sushi spot!
A wet and dirty menu would seem an obvious faux pas for a restaurant wishing to attract and keep customers, but this establishment appears to have no such aspirations. I asked for another menu, and received another stained example. The other introduction was a rather glum host. Not a bad fellow, I'm sure, but not very welcoming into the restaurant. I suspect this outfit will not remain in operation for long. They've lost any signage advertising the place. Interiorly there was clearly a good effort for food preparation and service was fine--too bad the cosmetics (and hygiene) were so off-putting.
Excellent service and incredible sushi rolls! Safe area worth the drive!!!
