The sushi and other food are outstanding. The sushi takes a little while but worth the wait. The sake selection is outstanding and the overall ambience is calm and quiet, even when there are families with children dining.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to, and that is coming from a sushi lover and fanatic. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere to grab dinner on New Year’s Eve, and I’m so glad we did. You are definitely paying for quality, service, and ambiance when you come here. Definitely a must-try.

Mediocre, bland sushi. There were a ton of kids on the night that I went that were screaming through most of the meal.

The food was incredible! We had a couple specialty rolls and not only was the fish fresh and delicious, but they tools are unique and incredibly tasty. It's comparable to Japanesa in downtown, but at a more affordable price. I highly recommend it!

Friendly wait staff. Quality food. Nothing overly special. Portion sizes for appetizers are smaller, but tasty. No real complaints but nothing out of this world either. Would eat here again!

The food was good but I told them I have a wheat allergy and they said they would make modifications to my food to accommodate me. However I still got sick. I'm guessing cross-contamination. If you're very sensitive to gluten, I don't recommend going here.

Moshi was good for our on the fly sushi craving. The fish was good, the sake selection is great, and the service was fast ,friendly, and helpful. Next time we will stick to signature rolls verse sashimi.

We've been here before and we like the creativity of the menu. Their handrolls are a good example Also, they do traditional dishes, like takoyaki, quite well. Their version compared admirably to the times we've eaten it in Japan. The critical tests of sashimi quality came up strong - maguro, hamachi and uni. Perfect maguro, very good (though slightly too moist) hamachi and fresh (not rancid) uni, all had the necessary fresh flavor. Their sake selections are numerous, accurately described and just great. Our server was well attuned to how we wanted to eat our meal, and everything showed up promptly (yes, it was a Wednesday night, but they had a decent number of patrons, so we came away quite happy.

Incredibly slow service. Very disorganized staff and who was cooking? Food was just OK and the sushi looked sloppy. Sushi should never look sloppy. 2 hours to get dinner and get out of there!

We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and we give the service a 5 ONLY because our waitress worked exceedingly hard under less than ideal conditions. She was the ONLY waitress working the downstairs level....setting up , bussing, taking orders and delivering them ....ridiculous ! If this was was the way it was scheduled then there had better be an improvement in scheduling if you want to continue building a client base...if it was just a short staff night then a restaurant manager or owner should have taken to the floor to help !

We ordered a few special rolls and all of them tasted fresh. The rolls were big - we couldn't finish them all! The miso soup was also very good. We were in from out of town, but would come back again if we lived in the neighborhood.

Moshi Moshi has fantastic sushi and a great drink program. We went on a Sunday evening, when much of the sushi and drinks are discounted for all-night happy hour. Highly recommend.

Moshi Moshi used to provide very good sushi at reasonable prices, right in the heart of Ballard. After a change in ownership, it went dowhill for a while and we stopped going. But reading positive recent reviews made us give it another try. We enjoyed excellent fish, very good service and an easy, enjoyable evening. The price was a bit higher, though not out of line for what we got. Good old Moshi Moshi is back. Will return soon!
