Mo's A Place for Steaks - Milwaukee
Great meal and free dessert for our anniversary!
The entire dining experience was wonderful. We were early for our reservation so my husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar. I always look forward to trying something new and Ben's suggestion off the wine list was one of the best Cabernet I've ever tasted. The steaks were fantastic. I had mine (4 oz filet since I had heard about their desserts) served with the red wine reduction sauce which had tremendous flavor. My husband had the 12 oz filet with a different sauce. Best steaks ever! The hotel we stayed at told us we needed to order the warm chocolate chip cookie for dessert and being somebody that enjoys desserts, I was happy to do so. We finished every bite of warm gooey chocolate chip cookie covered with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate. The serving staff was knowledgeable and attentive. I never felt any sense of being rushed. Their prices reflect the quality of the food and service. We look forward to going back!
It was our twins 20th birthday! Mo’s is their go to for their birthday every year!
Always a great dining experience!!
We go each year on our wedding anniversary. Each year, the food and service are impeccable.
Very typical steak house. None of the food really blew us away, but nothing was bad. The drinks were really good. Signature dirty martini was amazing. I would recommend Mo's as a standard steak house option in Milwaukee.
This place has it dialed in for great food accompanied with the best employees who are dedicated to the customer having an awesome dining experience. Always feel like family when we are here! If you want a “wow” effect, this is the place.
Food was delicious! Crab cakes, lobster bisque and 8oz filet were super!
Server definitely needed improvement sadly. Our waitress barely stopped by our table.
After waiting 30 minutes for a martini, I asked about it. Waitress admitted she completely forgot!! No actual apology though.
But she remembered to charge me $16 for it, and expected a tip for it too.
This was early on a Tuesday night...cannot imagine how she would cope on a busy evening.
After being seated, we waited 15 minutes and finally had to go ask the hostess to find our server. The server was apologetic and polite, but just not what we expected from a nicer establishment. Food was pretty good. Ambiance was ok, a bit noisy and crowded, but it was a Saturday evening so not surprising.
Everything was great, there was a slight hiccup with the second bottle of wine as we were neatly finished with our main course before it arrived and after me pushing where it was. However they did. Are up for it with a very nice dessert display. I’ll be back!
A party of three reserved a table for 5:45 This past Saturday. We were all first timers at the restaurant. The noise level and table proximity was not designed well. At the cost per meal, a few tables could be removed. Also, my lobster was slightly over done. On a ten point scale it would get a 7. We enjoyed it, but my expectations are high when I spend more than$300 for a meal.
This is the BEST steakhouse in Milwaukee!
Beat place for steak in Milwaukee! Love it! Would definitely go back when we are in town!
Hector and Adrian were EXCELLENT as always!
Food is never less than superb!
Amazing food! Loved sitting on the couch next to the piano to have our drinks and appetizer! Steak was the best. A little pricey but will definitely be back!
Mo’s never fails to impress the service is top notch, the food is always amazing. They have a nice selection of wine and craft beers. And live piano in the bar area.
The ambiance was great, listening to the likes of Louis Armstrong, Baby Blue Eyes and Roy Orbinson. The service was over the top extraordinary. I dine a lot and can appreciate great service. The food was good, but there was a little bit of a heavy hand on the salt on certain items.
Great place to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
Disappointed that even reservations we had to wait 20 to be seated. Dining room was cramped. Literally back to back seating with surrounding tables. And food was delicious but a bit overpriced.
My wife and I have been going to Mo's for many years and have never been disappointed. The food , service and attention to detail are always outstanding. We would highly recommend Mo's for any occasion.
Loved! A wonderful birthday celebration with loved one!
Everything was wonderful, especially the amazing service.
We went to Mo’s to celebrate my husband’s birthday this weekend and it was lovely! They brought us warm house bread for the table and I also had a glass of red wine. We both had lobster bisque, steak (with the included house salad), and creamed spinach. I added bacon wrapped scallops to my 4 oz filet. The soup, steak, and creamed spinach were wonderful. The salad was a pretty basic iceberg house salad with your choice of dressing. My scallops were ok—the bacon was a little chewier than I would have liked. They brought us a cookie with ice cream for my husband with a candle on it which was complementary for dessert. Our meal was little pricey but we knew that. The service and ambience were great. We have been there before and will definitely be back!
The only thing that is a little weird about this restaurant is that when you first check in there isn’t a very good holding area—you run into a wall and need to either go into the restaurant or the bar immediately so you aren’t in the way. But that isn’t something that can be fixed. They promptly took our coats and seated us so it wasn’t really a problem. Parking could be an issue if downtown is busy but they do have valet.
Our servers were polite and on top of everything. Timing was perfect. Food was all great! I would say go if you’re thinking about it. Great date night! Surprisingly perfect unlike past Valentines dates at other restaurants. You always worry on busy night how it will be and everything was on point. 👌🏻❤️
Wonderful cocktails and appetizers and not too loud. Excellent service and our steaks were cooked to order. Really a very good steakhouse and atmosphere for any special occasion or business dinner.
Server was awesome! Food was great, favorite restaurant!!
Meal and service were fine. Excellent in fact. But our automobile was damaged by the valet.
To his credit the valet pointed it out without prompting. He was honest and straightforward. The manager was very helpful and indicated it would be covered. Follow-up has been professional and helpful. Yet having our car door damaged, having to follow up and deal with it, and the resulting delays to our evening plans made it a disappointing experience. The delays in handling caused us to be late for our Valentina’s Day show and we were locked out of the first act of the musical as a result. Kind of spoiled the evening.
I’ve had a lot of good meals at Mo’s. They have been first class in handling this. But if you are going to run a valet at a nice restaurant and handle expensive cars, the care has to be close to perfect. This was a reminder to me of why I rarely use valets. Nobody takes care of your own vehicle like you do.
We appreciate that there have been no hassles about paying for the repair, but it will still involve hours of getting quotes, coordinating payment, 4 days in the shop for paint to cure, and being late for our show that evening. None of that is compensated. I might have thought they would make a gesture of a free drink or appetizer for the hassle and inconvenience. It’s not about the equivalent value of time and the hassle...it’s the gesture that counts. Capital Grille once comped me an appetizer just for seating us late. Little things matter. We truly appreciate their professionalism in accepting responsibility and paying for the damage. Yet that’s what any upstanding business should do. But getting quotes, having car in shop and missing start of our show...I might have expected just a bit more in terms of recognizing the inconvenience this all caused.
Food was fantastic! Service was even better...especially considering it was Valentine's Day. Having never been there before, we didn't know what to ask for as far as seating. The greeter placed us in the "PDR" (private dining room). Not a special room, but not bad either. A little isolated feeling. That was the only reason we rated a 4 instead of 5. We recommend this place!!
We had a very enjoyable experience wait staff and food was well beyond our expectations. Thank you Mo’s for making our special night perfect.
Have been vising Moe's for many years, never a disappointing meal. Service as always was outstanding! Thank you once again for a wonderful evening!
It’s reputation and reviews lived up to all expectations! Filet mignon and lobster tail was amazing, drinks fabulous especially one with ice cream and kahlua! Service was fantastic. Would definitely return on next visit.
Our food was very good. I had a french onion soup, steak and scallops. My husband had fish. It looked like a small portion size. Food was very good, but expensive. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Would be a nice place for a special date.
Service especially was excellent. Food was exceptional. This is the only steak house in Milwauke that I go repeatedly.
Outstanding staff, delicious food, great portions.
Excellent service, great food. My first time in Milwaukee. I’d like to visit again.
I was impressed with Moe's, especially its customer service. We were treated excellently by every staff member we encountered--it was some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. The ambiance was perfect--it hearkened back to classic steakhouses in a very upscale yet welcoming manner. We were seated in the second floor area, which was pleasantly quiet.
The food met or exceeded my expectations for a high-end steak house. I was disappointed that they weren't serving the porterhouse that night, but the dry-aged strip steak was very good and cooked perfectly medium rare. My wife loved her 8 oz. filet (she didn't order the waygu version, just the regular one; she said it was excellent). We had the caprese salad as an appetizer and it was really good--no extraneous stuff like diced red onion, just the classic caprese ingredients with some olive oil and balsamic. The truffle mashed potatoes were very good but not quite as good as those offered at Carnevor. The sauteed mushrooms were perfectly done.
We will definitely be back.
Fantastic steak...will definitely come back for more
The steak was burnt and the salad didn’t have enough dressing on it.
Mo's was recommended by friends and was walking distance from our hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The Service was outstanding, food excellent - just a wonderful "white table cloth" meal. My wife had the Tuna on wasabi potatoes and continues to rave about it. I had surf and turf and it was one of the best filets and lobster tail meals I can remember. Of course all this comes at a price - you don't go to Mo's for a budget meal. But then again - you get what you pay for - great food, amazing service, wonderful experience.
In town for business. The dinner was fantastic. One of the better steaks I have had.
Awesome place, food and people.
