Was their last day in businesx. Service was slow, but I guess that's expected as they were out of jobs the next day
They're going out of business. It's easy to see why.
Service and food was excellent!!
Good food and nice atmosphere. The mac and cheese is great!
The food was excellent, a very nice quite place to go if you want to enjoy high quality food and carry on a conversation with your dinner guest.
Celebrated a birthday in Houston. Well worth the 2 hour drive from Louisiana.
The meal was incredible!
Absolutely loved the tuna poke!
Had the most delicious Mexican margarita and wine.
The steak was amazing! So flavorful! Best I have had at a restaurant in years.
Memorable dining experience!
We had a Great evening ....met good friends for my birthday dinner and were so happy we chose MO's.
We will definitely be back!
We happen to attend during a party in the bar area so it was a bit loud but lively. We sat further in the restaurant and there was a curtain placed properly to separate the party from the general diners. Both our wait staff were attentive. The food was very good and the value very good. I would recommend going to Mo's for Happy Hour or lunch too.
Mo's was great! The food was great, the timing of the food was quick. Our waiter Kris, was really nice. He was a delight. He even gave me a rack to hang my purse, which was very nice. Waiters were attentive with pouring water, so you are never thirsty.
The ambiance was nice. It was cool and spacious. We even got a Cookie with Ice Cream on the house, which was unexpected. I would highly recommend this place. The food was great! The Garlic Cheese Fries amazing and so was the Mashed Potatoes! Steak was great!
A few years ago this was the place to go,
This was my first time back for over a year. Wow what a change, tired environment, second rate menu and adequate at best food !
Hugely disappointing , a restaurant waiting to close down was the perception - Shame
Simply great! -------------------------------------------------------------------
Very nice - service and food were excellent. Location and setting were better than expected - a must go!
GREAT FOOD!! Nice restaurant!! The ONLY concern we had was we were overcharged for the 20oz Rib Eye that was an August special for $35 instead of regular price of $56. We were charged $56 for the 3 steaks which was corrected after I asked our waitress, Melanie about it. Our bill was corrected, just glad that we noticed the discrepancy. A $63 discrepancy!!
Disappointed in September week special. Other restaurants offered a complete meal; however, MO'S offered only the steak. Sides and dessert were additional charges. Service was excellent.
The most amazing, flavorful steaks.....cooked to perfection. Nice by the glass wine selection too!
Everything was delicious and we'll cooked. I will definitely visit again!
Food was AMAZING!! Loved the Blue Cheese Wedge Salad & 20oz Cowboy Cut Ribeye!! Steak melted in our mouth!! Our server, Chris was Top Notch!! He made our 1st visit to Mo's not be our last!! Jessica was a wonderful Piano Player!!
MO's use to be a great Tuesday night out along with a great bar scene and excellent food but no longer . Band has left service is slow and food is good but over priced.
Service and food quality were outstanding.
We were there on a Tuesday night and there was a band in the bar that was very loud. We had to yell to speak with our waiter.
Being foodies, and especially steak lovers, we tried Moe's. The steaks were ok. Nothing special. Especially for the prices. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. We had reservations but got seated in the back, by the kitchen. Not great atmosphere for a date.
I'll stick with Pappa's steakhouse.
Experience was great! When making the reservation on-line, I noted that it was my wife's birthday and our Wedding Anniversary. They had menu's printed that said Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary at the top and then brought her a cake with candles at the end of dinner. Service was spectacular and the personal touch for our special occasion made the night special. The food is always great; we will definitely be back.
The new menu was less good than before.
We were missing e.g. the crab cake and the salads.
Meat sill very good - but the rest of the menu dropped a bit - so not as good as it used to be.
Service excellent food good, Band was good as always. Like Tuesday and Thursday nights rest of the week pretty slow but very nice. The staff is very welling to go the extra few steps to keep your drinks full and checking on the food if its ok. Great place
We started with a wedge salad and tomato soup, both of which were very good. My steak was well prepared and flavorful, my wife's salmon was excellent. We shared the small cinnamon roll for desert and were impressed. The service was good but not top notch and $5 to valet in a lot that never came close to 1/3 full seemed a bit much but that won't keep us from going back.
Using Open Table was perfect for this reservation. My special requests were communicated to the restaurant and the hostess followed up with me earlier that evening to confirm everything. I thought the custom dessert plate was the only surprise in store for my husband but they had balloons at our table and custom printed menus with his name as well. We were blown away. We had two servers the entire evening. Everything was perfect! We already talked about going back for my birthday!
Very expensive for regular steaks. Drinks and cocktails ultra expensive and had to send them back twice. No New York steak on menu!! It's a joke!
Not only was the food and service great, but the ambiance was spectacular. We sat outside both times and had a wonderful romantic evening.
My wife and I went to Mo's for the first time on a dinner date before attending a concert. The scenery is romantic. The service is outstanding. There is a variety of food options to cater to any diet. I had the ribeye steak which was both tender and full of flavor. Exceptional all around restaurant. Enjoy! :)
The food is great especialy the steaks, a very good wine selection and the service was very good. A little pricey but worth the additional dollars. My only minor compliant was it was a little noisy for the dinner.
Took a group of 4 to eat here as a recognition of a great accomplishment. It was everything we have hear and more. First, the service was tremendous. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the ares. The food was terrific. Spinach dip and crab cake are wonderful starters. I had the sea bass and it was great. Two other guys had ribeye that they devoured and one guy had a filet. I will be back
Great food and atmosphere. If you are looking for an awesome restaurant that avoids the chain stereotypes with a neighborhood feel... Mo's has got it going on! Impressive, knowledgeable and friendly staff! Ask go Maria as your server... She rocks!!!
Apparently Tuesday's are live band day and it was too loud to have a conversation with the person next to you. I have always had a great experience there but won't be taking business clients there on a Tuesday again. That said, the staff did everything they could to make accommodations for us.
McAlpine River was great!
We love going to Mo's to set back and relax. The piano player is awesome, the atmosphere is amazing! We love this place
Have had many dinners and even celebrated a birthday here with a guest list of 16 people. The staff is the best and always has great recommendations. The GM stopped at our table during our last late night visit because she recognized our name. We received a complimentary dessert, which was excellent, close to the end of kitchen hours. During the weekend evening hours there's never a wait!
We had reservations for 4 on a Friday evening. When we arrived, the place was nearly empty, except for 2 couples occupying 2 booths. The hostess wanted to seat us by the water station, so we asked for a table by the window. She refused, stating that the table was reserved (there were 4 tables). We were finally seated at a booth. At some point, she did seat a group of 5 at one of the window front tables. The group was loud and disruptive, playing cell phone videos at full volume, without concern for the other patrons. When we spoke to a server about the disruption, he laughed it off, despite the fact that it was so loud that our table couldn't hold a conversation.
While the service was good, the food was mediocre at best. We ordered the following:
-Chef's Speciality Short Ribs with Risotto, which was tasteless and fatty
-Tuna with Wasabi mashed potatoes, which was overly sweet and the only hint of wasabi was in the sickly green color of the mashed potatoes
-2 Filet mignons, which were well-prepared
-Side order of of fries, which were comparable to those at Red Robin
-Beet Salad, which while tasty, was overly dressed
-The tomato soup which accompanied one filet was similar to the La Madeline jarred soup, and the side salad was fresh
-Wine from the extremely limited wine list on the dinner menu (at no time were we offered a proper wine list, which I assume a steak restaurant would have)
Overall, Mo's a Place for Steaks was underwhelming, with disappointing ambience, unacceptably rude clientele, and poor menu options. Only after dining here, did we learn that it is a favorite of certain ladies....
Waiter came across as distracted. Appetizer (bacon wrapped scallops) good. Wedge salad wasn't crispy cold but it was fresh - average. 6oz Filet tasty grill surface but bland inside - albeit cooked to correct temp (medium rare+) - have had better at much lower priced restaurants. Sea Bass over creamed spinach - average (sea bass we've had at Pappa's and Eddie V's is much better). Wine by glass menu limited (common) but midpoint choices weren't very good. Being Valentine's night, they offered a free dessert - which was a pleasant surprise - but it was an under-cooked chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of almost flavorless vanilla ice cream. Will likely not return as there are simply too many other steak/seafood restaurants in Houston at same price point with superior product quality. But I must state that Mo's is not in any way bad. Just a bit over-priced for average product quality. I'm sure the waiter distraction had much to do with a busy Valentine's night albeit we reserved toward the end of the evening so many tables were emptied within 15 minutes of our arrival.
Ruth service was avg. The piano v player was great. And the ambiance.
The service was superb
We went on a quiet night, but usually this place is pretty active. Very manly sort of place, but the food was good, and the waitress was extremely kind and attentive to four single women who were not...babes, and who all ordered soup and salad!
