Morton's The Steakhouse - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
Sides were surprisingly mediocre.
Lobster Bisque probably had a little too much cream than I'm used to getting, but flavour was there. Salad was served at a perfect temperature.
Solid wine list. France very well represented in addition to Italy and new world.
Steaks cooked perfectly.
The chandelier atop the stairs to the restroom/private dining areas is disgusting and looks like it hasn't been dusted in fifteen years.
Otherwise, awesome. The front door staff were incredibly polite, management as well.
The food wasn’t very good. The steak seemed more like a keg meal opposed to a top rated steak house. On top I requested a vegetarian meal and the server literally said “we have every vegetable”. I go to a lot of steakhouses unfortunately I was not pleased with the food one bit.
Everything was very good except the steaks! Six steaks ordered only 2 came as requested. The other 4 were all overdone. No point sending them back as our sides were ready and that would mean 2 people eating while the other 4 watched and waited. Also, the steaks lacked seasoning.
We have been coming here every Christmas season for the last 8 years.
It was a joint father-and-son birthday and we have been exploring Toronto-area steakhouses. My son had been to Morton's in Toronto and I had only been to the one in Chicago. He said we had to try Morton's together; off we went and were greeted with a very special touch--menus that had been imprinted with Happy Birthday. The greeting was warm, and the server was friendly, outstanding and knowledgeable. We shared two steaks: the seasonal wagyu and a bone-in ribeye. Were they the best steaks I've ever had? I believe they were! Tender, perfectly cooked, possessed of waves and waves of perfect flavour. I was really impressed. A superior product! The server recommended some excellent Cabernets by the glass, and we started with a wedge salad, also very tasty, and a special cauliflower gratin with truffle oil. We were treated to dessert and espresso macchiato and weren't overly full. I will say this short and succinctly: Morton's is the best steakhouse in Toronto and we have abandoned our search; Morton's is our go to place from now on.
Awesome experience ....as usual. A+ across the board. What can I write that hasn’t already been covered? The staff is very helpful and sincere. The food excellent! Cooked to our liking and was also served in a timely fashion. The wine recommendations were spot on. It’s rare I stray once I find a gem like this place. I’ll be back in the very near future. Keep up the great work!
Hadn’t dined here in over 10 years and went to have an evening with a dear friend. Very friendly staff and maître d’! Lovely decor and surroundings inYorkville. Still a quite expensive experience, but not dissimilar to restaurants of that genre and quality. Steaks were tender, but could have used some spicing to zip up the flavour! Still have an issue paying $14.00 for an ordinary baked potato!
My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. The service was top notch, down to our very memorable menus with the happy birthday and anniversary. I enjoyed the food especially except the salmon dish. The salmon was fantastic, however the peas and corn mix with the lime was very watery and I found the lemon and the kale to over power other flavours.
Other than that the room was great, our seat was picked well, service fantastic. A bit on the pricy end for me but I felt it was worth it for this occasion. I'd come again.
This is the third Morton's Steakhouse that we have been to. Previously we had been to San Antonio's and Manhattan's. Well I think we hit the trifecta. Toronto's Morton's Steakhouse did not disappoint. It is just outstanding how well we were treated. Never mind how good the food was. It is obvious the attention to detail that each staff member is taught and engrained in them. I can't wait to try my 4th Morton's Steakhouse in another city to be determined. I am sure that they won't disappoint. KUDOS!
