they made a few tiny errors in the food but the food was very good
First off I have never been to Morris Tap & Grill I just drive past it thinking its a traditional ale house type of restaurant. I had reservations and spoke with Paul who helped me set up my finace's table for the special occasion I was planning which was awesome great seating and customer service involved. Also our server Stephen just was incredible even though the food options were literally like 3 pages which I thought there would be more so we werent too impressed with the food selection but the service and atmosphere were amazing. Stephen kudos to you and keep up the great work!
My family was there on Easter for the dinner brunch at 5:30.
We were located in the bar area and no server acknowledged us until we flagged down the hostess after waiting 20 minutes.
The buffet food would have been good if it was fresh, but it was picked over and the area was an absolute mess. Both the hot areas and the salads had the serving utensils caked with food and some were buried in the food. My expectations were high because the brunch was expensive. I had dinner there on several other
occasions and it was excellent so this was a big disappointment.
Went for Easter brunch./dinner. No where on their website did it say brunch. The seating was terrible , it was unorganized and the service was terrible and they automatically added a tip and we were 3 ppl
My daughter and I went for their Easter Brunch Buffet, we were seated and waited almost 10 minutes for a server to greet us and take our drink orders. We decided to head to the buffet figuring when we returned someone would assist us. Nope, no one, I had to flag down a random waiter and ask for something to drink, he did deliver the drinks, 1 water, 1 soda but never returned. I even had to take away our dirty plates and piled them on a random stand where other dirty dishes were stacked. We overheard a couple of servers talking about who's table was who's, very unorganized and disappointing. I had to literally flag someone down for the check and was taken back by the added 20% service fee, what service? I did quickly speak to the manager on the way out, he looked overwhelmed and I did not want others waiting to be seated for Easter Brunch to overhear my horrible experience. We will never visit this establishment again, the lack of hospitality and service were inexcusable, the food was fair and the buffet line was disorganized.
Easy parking, varied menu, fresh and well-prepared food cheerful and prompt staff
Shepard’s pie was over seasoned. Beef cubes in it were very over cooked and gravy was much to thick. Thought the dish was very overpriced . My dining companion ordered seafood paella. Seafood did not seem fresh. The mussels were over cooked , very dry and fishy tasting. Couldn’t be fresh mussels.
Waiter was excellent.
Parking can be an issue on a Saturday night. Had to valet park.
Pretty disappointing. The wedge salad ($12.00) was half a head of lettuce with a drizzle of dressing across the middle and a few crumbles of blue cheese... I think I found a crumble of bacon.
My entree was good. Service was horrible. They had a menu in the middle of the table with specials. My two friends orders the $5 margaritas and we were charge $10 each. When asking the waitress her smug response was “that is the bar menu. Not sure why they’re in here and I’ve been asking myself the same question all night”... what kind of response is that! Not to mention the bar was within 10 feet of our table.
Overall a dissapointing experience. Also, the valet was unnecessary and awkward for a tap & grill... uncomfortable to say the least.
We will not be returning.
Great food and service.
My wife and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. We happily chatted before the food was brought out, but as soon as it arrived, conversation essentially stopped as we dove into our meals. The food was delicious! I'd highly recommend the Morris Tap Grill for anyone looking for anyone wishing to have a nice date night.
Although there were bread-and-butter plates on the table, this restaurant doesn’t serve bread or chips or anything while you wait for dinner. The noise level was so distracting; we could barely hear our friends sitting across from us. The food was good. I had halibut, but it was a VERY small portion for the price. Overall, I would rush back.
Dinner was OK. There is absolutely nothing healthy on the menu. My husband and I ordered a petite filet with steamed veggies. Both filets were overcooked. The waiter couldn't really answer questions about the beer list which is extensive and one of the reasons we like to go to this spot. We ended dinner sitting at the bar listening to music. The bar scene and bartenders were great. The menu used to be really creative. It is now extremely boring and unhealthy. I will go back and sit and the bar and listen to music. Otherwise, there is not much of a draw.
Service wasn’t great and the table and booth seats were sticky. We never got water brought to us or asked if we wanted it. The food options were great and we enjoyed what we ordered but overall don’t think we will be back.
Great place to meet with a great Friday night vibe.
We enjoyed our dinner at Morris Tap and Grill. The food was good and the restaurant was very accommodating with changing our reservation around. The service was just ok, but the food was delicious.
It was great. Service was good and food was even better!
Went this past weekend for the first time since under new management and we were disappointed especially since this used to be such a reliable place for family with kids. It seems like the new management has opted for lesser quality ingredients in many of the menu options. Kids chicken which used to be a nice breaded thin chicken breast is now a stock frozen chicken finger like you get in a chain restaurant. The burgers didn’t seem the same with some changes noted on the type of bun and overall quality; A burger order which used to be a great burger with a small side of fries is now an ok burger with a plate heaping with fries.
They have consistently good food and good service!
Friendly and quick service. Food was good. Lots of beers on tap. Good stop.
Updated menu was a nice surprise. However both meals were over seasoned with salt.
Was hoping for something far better.
After reading the review in the special food section of the Bergen Recored that this was a restaurant not to be missed, we decided after being there, we should have missed it.
First, there is little ambiance. The atmosphere outside of the bar, which is very nice, is diner like. Now to the food and service.
We ordered drinks, (excellent beer selections), and our waitress told us that the kitchen was slow (a nice thing to do) and we said we were in no hurry so all was cool. Our drinks came and we ordered. A salad and a cup of onion soup. Both were very good. But we were not done with the appys and dinner came. So much for a slow kitchen and a leisurley meal. The short rib sandwich we good, but the fries would have been good if they were not cold. The mac and cheese was very dry and when we tried to get the attention of our server, she was so busy with the dessert cart that I was about done by the time we were able to send the mac and cheese back. On the return, it was a bit better, but not that good. We did not stay for dessert, but we did wonder why a Tap Room and Grill would have a dessert trolley.
All in all a big disappointment. Very disjointed service. Not so great atmosphere. And less than average food.
Great beer list. Dog friendly patio. Tasty food. Chef makes changes to the food options seasonally, even came out to check on us after our meal.
Unfortunately, vegetarian dinner options have been greatly reduced. Ill wait for the next seasons menu before I return
Special night visiting with out of town family. Wonderful meal, great cocktails and tap list. Server was VERY knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to insure our satisfaction. 5 stars all the way - can't wait to go back.
Steamers special appetizer was tasty but we expected more meat for the price. My entree (jerk chicken rice bowl) was delicious and filling. Drinks were phenomenal. We sat outdoors and were extremely pleased with how peaceful and pleasant the atmosphere was. Our server was great!
The menu had some nice options from bar bites to paella. The food was presented well and service was good. The noise level was quite high but I guess that is what one should expect from a "Tap and Grill", right? Desserts were fun and the specialty Sangrias were well done.
This was our second time here. The first time my fish came out like rubber and everyone else's dinner was cold. More recently, the server got my wife's order wrong. We ere offered a desert for free. I was not impressed with this resturant and won't be going back. There are way too many better choices in this area.
The chef was trained in NYC, and you could tell by the excellently prepared and creative items on the menu. This is a great surprise from what you might think to be just another sports bar like restaurant. I had the avocado salad and my friend had the avocado 'sandwich' (tuna poke inside two avocado halves. Absolutely delicious.
They have a good selection of beers, both draft and bottle, from local and international breweries. The only downside is that the noise volume inside can be very high, particularly if they have performers. Luckily for us, it was a lovely evening and we could sit outside.
Our very picky 13 year loved her chicken and waffles! Great selection of food.
Something for everyone!
Liked the Jersey brews on tap, but your pours are awfully pricey. Having to pay $5.00 or more for a 5 oz taster is a real negative for me.
It's a local, casual spot. Extensive menu should suit all diners.
We've been here a number of times before, but this visit, the restaurant (or our location) was particularly noisy. We were seated under an air vent so had cool air blowing on us. My dish was a fish with lots of sauce. I asked the server for bread and was told "bread doesn't come with that". Everyone else (3) at our table had burger-based meals served on rolls. That was pretty disappointing, especially given the size of the portion (small). The dish was delicious, but I definitely would have liked a roll to enjoy it with.
The food and service were excellent although the desserts were just OK. The choices we made had whipped cream which wasn't the best. Otherwise great experience and we would certainly go again and just try a different dessert as there were many choices.
We return here again and again for lunch or dinner… And always bring friends from out of town here to eat
Great place. Good very good. Mac and chrese was weak everything else really good. Beer choices outstanding.
Everything was fine until the band started to play. We were in a different room from the band in the bar, but could no longer hear each other without yelling. It was actually painful to walk by the bar area when we were leaving. Food and drink were excellent, they just need better control over the volume the bands play at.
Just another great visit to our Randolph go to hot spot! Love the Grilled Salmon and Coconut Shrimp. Great place to always refill my growler.
