Morris Tap and Grill
We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes. The bartender was rude and he forgot one of our drinks. The service was as slow as a glacier. The food we got was tasty, but small portions.
Had a great time with my mom, nana, my girlfriend Patti and her mom. Excellent waitress, great dinner and drink selections.
The burrata with figs appetizer was really good as well as the short ribs with duck fat potatoes main course. Great price for the portion and quality. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive.
Asked for burger in a lettuce wrap and recieved burger with 3 wilted pieces of romaine lettuce.
Our server Douglas was great. The management came over to our table multiple times to check up on us. Haven't been in years and look forward to returning. Fish and chips were great.
We have always had a great time at MTG. The food and service is always great. It is a paradise for beer lovers. If you are into live music - you can have that too. It is our Cheers although we are not that regular for them to know our names. You will always have a good time though.
We were thrilled with our dinner, the short ribs and salmon were on point. The Dips and Bread Appetizer was delicious. The tables next to us were also very happy with their food, we were all talking about the new chef and the welcome change. We will definitely be back as regulars.
Went back to try the new menu. They change every few months. Almost every thing was very good except the Cuban sandwich . The pork was vey tough and fatty.
Great place to eat and enjoy friends. Good Beer and wine list.
Have been here a few times in the last few years and have always had a good experience. Went on a Friday night with 4 others and was surprised to find a new menu. Our waiter was very nice but seemed unsure of the menu ingredients He did warn about short ribs that were not really braised. After our less than satisfactory meal we found out that they had a new chef. Dessert was awful. I felt sorry for the waiter that had to try to smooth things over. New menu is awful and food choices slim. Won’t be back. Owner and manager were milling around the dining room and never stopped at our table. Poor business practice.
It was New Years Eve and we decided to take mom out to dinner. The menu was completely different and somewhat pricy. Our server was amazing. Considering it was early in the evening, we waited over an hour for our meal. I miss the old menu and its prices.
We went there with friends for dinner on New Years Eve and the service was horrible. Evidently it was too difficult to make sure the table had water after three requests and that the salad dressing that was requested was present close to when the meal was brought out and not ten minutes later. Additionally, if you have an item like Chocolate Lava Cake on the menu, you need to have it, and not try to replace it with a Brownie Sundae with FROZEN brownies.
I was disappointed in my pork tacos. The meat did not have very much flavor, it was fatty and grisly and not very much of it either (which I guess ok since I didn't like it). I tasted the topping more than the meat when eaten as a whole taco. But when I dug the meat out, it wasn't very good.
My father had the meat dish with the potatoes and greens (sorry not sure what it was). The pototoes tasted like they were from a mix and not fresh made. They should be fresh made. It's not hard to make fresh mashed potatoes.
Sorry was not horribly impressed with new menu. Meat section was limited so if you visit more than twice you've eaten the items that appeal to you already.
sorry—take some time to re-group and make this a worthwhile destination.
Very pleased with food and service.
First time there! Great place! The stout burger was amazing
Dry food. Inattentive server
Great beer list, which usually translates into great food in my experience. Not the case here. Kids pasta and kids pizza were really awful. Wife’s salad was forgettable, and my Jersey burger was the driest burger I’ve ever had.
The oven roasted snapper was beyond delicious and the burger very good. The chocolate cake was only okay, but I really appreciated the real (not canned) whipped cream on top. Our waitress didn't pay attention to the drinks she brought us. One of the beers ordered was a porter and she brought over something light colored and fruity! Porters are very dark and I'd expect that she'd know that from working at a place that emphasizes their beer selection. Turns out the porter was sold out so we ordered a different porter. When the bill came, we were charged for both porters. Good thing I took the time to review the bill. We were in the largest room and it was too loud for extended conversation. We'll go back again but ask for the small dining room in the front.
The Thanksgiving Buffet selection was great and delicious. However, because of the large crowd, the buffet needs to be organized differently to accommodate the people. There should have been at least two lines instead of one. Also, I was surprised to see a 20% gratuity automatically attached to the check. I think this is inappropriate and the tip amount should be at the customer's discretion. Also, typically there is never a 20% tip for a buffet since we are not being served.
Thanksgiving lunch was great!! Staff was great with the great food!!
Went there for the fixed-price Thanksgiving dinner and was not disappointed. All the dishes and sides you'd expect, plus a few nice surprises ( broccoli rabe, for instance). GREAT beer selection; I have no opinion one way or the other wrt whiskey lineup or cocktail craft. Stephanie was a wonderful wait person; took time to explain, take care of us, and shoot a little breeze. Nice day overall.
Can’t say enough!! Kelly our bartender/waitress was phenomenal!! Backed by Max, Steph and Kathy. All very friendly and helpful. Max had a beer knowledge that makes good assessment of the client, though I still miss Dan at Paragon. Management (Peter in particular) was helpful to guests and staff, running food when needed. All very friendly and fun, I will come back!!
Had an outstanding first dinning experience here on Sat night. Reservations we're honored immediately, great menu, awesomer beer menu. Food was exceptional.
Great food and service. Looking forward to going back soon.
I met a friend for dinner. It was our first time eating here. Atmosphere is ok, they could stand to turn down the lighting. A bit bright in the dining room. No complaints with the service, our waiter was great! The food was disappointing. We ordered the upside down nachos which was a bowl of dip and a little awkward to eat. I would have preferred a traditional nacho plate. For the entree, I had the snapper which was very dry. My friend had the crab cake which she enjoyed. All in all, not sure I would go out of my way to return.
Dinner was pretty good. Food is good bar food. Waitress was very friendly. Beer menu is great.
Used to really like the unique food served at MTG. Now it's a 1 page menu. Was a little bummed at how it changed. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon, was too disappointed with the changes.
Started off with a reservation for 8 for after a hockey game nearby. Ended up with half the team wanting to go. The restaurant adjusted our reservation when I called and seated us when we got there. Servers were both amazing (we had 5 families and 5 different checks), as was the food and the beer. Thank you for making our evening a fun night!
Very friendly service. Good food and a good price. We were there on a rainy evening but the outside seating looked good too
Place was fairly quiet for a Sunday on a holiday weekend (Labor Day).
Beer list is quite extensive....one of if not the best in Morris County.
Food was good, but not great. I had a cowboy/rib eye. I use Arthur's steak as a bench mark and this wasn't even close in any of size/quality/preparation/price. Very salty, as were the smashed potatoes. Vegetables were quite good (sauteed zucchini, snap peas...).
Outdoor seating was nice especially on a 75 degree evening.
I felt the menu was limited. I ordered the filet mignon and i was served the end so it was shaped like an irregular croquette, kinda weird. The ghost pepper wings were good and the on tap beer selection was great.
Love love love! I took my boyfriend for his birthday and we absolutely loved it! We are definitely going back! (I also plan on going with friends and family) the menu is creative and SO tasty. Our waiter was sweet and attentive and so were other staff members who weren't even assigned to our table!
Manager came over to help discuss a menu change. I thought he was very professional
The food and drinks were delicious. Our waitress was a little slow and said 3 times she would be back with the dessert tray but all in all it was a good dining experience.
The scallops with risotto was excellent!
We came to celebrate a birthday for an early Sunday dinner as we had been to the restaurant before. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was pretty empty at that time. Fish tacos were very good with a little spice. Would definitely order them again. Filet mignon was slightly over cooked at medium rare. Thrilled that they are incorporating some vegan options. Service could have been better and was slow. Had to ask for things a couple of times. Probably best to go during a busier time. Nice beer selection. If you want a burger and beer, try it out.
We were very pleasantly surprised with wonderful cuisine(Beer mussels outstanding!), service (multiple checks on food & beer satisfaction). We did eat outside which was very nice & quieter then inside. This is a family friendly restaurant so probably not the place for a romantic dinner but otherwise outstanding (special thank you to our waiter Ethan who was excellent).
Our favorite Randolph hotspot! My wife loves their Sangria Flights! Great time of the year to eat outdoors for great food, drinks and live music!
