Excellent service and the chef’s choice meal was simply spectacular
Morimoto appetizer was perfect to start with! Black cod was absolutely amazing, and so was Morimoto Surf & Turf (yellow tail with avocado!!). Unagi and uni were also perfect. We had a good time.
We always love our dining experience at Morimoto. Fantastic date night!!!
The ambiance is great the food wasnt that great. Actually i was disappointed with my fish.
Our waiter took a bit to get to us initially but was very good. Food was also very good maybe a bit pricey.
Inadvertently booked for lunch at Philadelphia location instead of Manhattan. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. The hostess said that happened frequently with Open Table. Whether true or not, it put us at ease.
The restaurant is large, but laid out in such a way that you are afforded privacy and quiet space.
The service and food were fantastic. The presentations are incredible. I highly recommend the Toro Poke and rock shrimp tempura.
I will be back.
It's a weird looking place with great service and decent food, would return
Absolutely amazing experience at Morimoto. From the cocktails to the service to all 8 courses was nothing short of incredible.
Would eat here often for a number of years but haven't been back in almost 9 years. I wondered if it was still as good as I remembered. Amazing! One of the best dinners I've had in a very long time. The tasting menu satisfied our desire to try everything. The staff is first rate. Alexander made sure our evening was perfect. I do suggest reservations. We had an early dinner on a Sunday night and the place was busy the 3.5 hours we were there.
Wonderful - as good as years ago.
Dinner was fabulous at my annual birthday dinner at Morimoto’s.
We both had the seasonal omakase. Beautifully presented but more important, hit every mark. Our server Alex was a delight. Beautiful room loved the soundtrack too.
all the food was delicious and the service was perfect. my husband did the classic tasting menu and said it was the best meal he has ever had
Food and service were top notch
Mothers birthday. She loved it
Alexander our server made the experience absolutely perfect.
This place offers a fresh take on a date night. Great cuisine. The staff was incredibly welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu. Any question me and my date had they were more than happy to answer.
Visited for dinner this week. This was once a favorite place of mine when I traveled to Philly regularly. It has fallen off tremendously. There are far better places that are less costly in the area. I am so saddened by the drop.
This is my favorite restaurant and I have been here several times before. This particular dinner was not the best example of how good they can be. It took way too much time for the entrees to arrive and when they did they were both incorrect and had to be sent back. When they finally came back, one was correct and the temperature of the meat on the other was correct but it was tasteless. I requested salt twice and it didn't arrive until the meal was over. They graciously took my meal off the bill which was appreciated. Not sure what happened but we'll try again.
Spectacular! We enjoyed every minute of our dining experience. Can’t wait to return.
Great service, great food
I love love love Morimoto! Every time time I have come here it’s a perfect experience
Wonderful dining experience. Excellent waitstaff.
The food might have been the best I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant was beautiful!!! The service was outstanding.
Never disappointed amazing food, sea bass was fantastic
I had the lunch combination of soup, salad, and black cod. It was fabulous and I wish the restaurant was closer to me!
Went here for our anniversary. Fiancé got the seasonal omakase. We worried that he would walk away hungry. That was not the case. He was STUFFED! The omakase included 7 or 8 dishes, most of which I tried, and dessert. Some highlights: the fried red snapper, the fried octopus, the fatty tuna sashimi (amazing), the swordfish sashimi, the fresh wasabi, and the chestnut mousse dessert. Everything was fresh and the flavors were just a delight to the mouth. I ordered the tuna pizza which was just okay. It was a little heavy on the cilantro? Or some other herb that was on top. Aside from that, it generally lacked flavor. There were jalapeños on it but I could not taste them. I ordered the yellowtail ishi yaki bop entree which is a dish consisting of rice, seaweed, yellowtail, egg, noodles, and soy sauce. This is cooked tableside in a dish that is 400 degrees Fahrenheit. That was a cool experience and it was absolutely delicious, albeit a little salty from the soy sauce. We ordered the Dassai Otter Fest 50 sake and it was smooth and tasty. I would definitely buy a bottle of this. Everything that we ordered came as a recommendation from our server and I can honestly say that we weren’t disappointed at all (aside from the tuna pizza being a little bit bland). Server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and what flavors worked well together and how to eat certain items in order to capture the right tastes. Our bill was quite hefty, so this would be a once in a while type of night for us, but again it was our anniversary and the food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I went to use the restroom and when I came back, my server had folded my napkin. Exceptional service. Friendly, too. I did not feel that the staff was stuffy, like some high end restaurant staff sometimes are. Also, the atmosphere is really cool and modern.
We were at Morimoto's for an anniversary. It was a good experience overall. The host could have been a little bit more friendly, but overall the experience was good. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were really good. We anticipated smaller portion sizes and ended up with more food than we could eat!
Lychee and fig martini - among the best lychee drinks I have had. Absolutely delicious!
Kemuri - Expected a more smokey drink since it has Laphroaig, but we were pleasantly surprised with a drink more on the sweeter side.
Both drinks were great; we'd order again!
We started off with appetizers:
Rock shrimp - the sauce was great, and the shrimp was wonderfully crispy on the outside. The shrimp was a little overcooked though. Probably would not order again.
Wagyu dumplings - This was our favorite appetizer of the night! The beef was great, the broth was delicious and the dumplings were perfectly soupy and warm.
Spicy vegetable tempura roll - there was nothing special about the roll; could be from any sushi place
Green tea cha soba needles - I like to believe I am a green tea connoisseur! I loved these noodles and were my favorite dish of the night! I would go back for this.
Duck Duck Duck - The duck fried rice was absolutely delicious! Definitely a unique take on fried rice. The duck was cooked perfectly as well. Would order again.
Overall, the only disappointment was the staff being a little less warming and welcoming. With that added to the experience, I would give 5 stars!
Food, service, ambiance.
We did the tasting menu and are full and happy!!!🏅
Great service and interesting menu with some flair
The sushi was good but the entrees did not meet our high expectation. Would stick with the sushi.
My girlfriend took me out for Valentine's Day and we can honestly say everything was perfect. From the moment you walked in to the second we walked out, we were well taken care of. The sushi and oysters were delicious and main courses were even better. Will definitely return very soon!
The food was tasty and excellent as usual. Hadn’t been there for several years and the food seems consistent. Unfortunately, I guess I’m a Nobu fan and would rather have spent the money on Nobu. The choices are limited but it’s still the best in Philly.
Everything was perfect
Was an absolutely wonderful evening!! The waitress was great as she described and helped us choose our meal!! I would recommend that everyone have this experience once in their life!! Thank you!!’
Best food I have ever eaten. Me and my girlfriend got the omakase. It was $135 a person which is much more than I spend on a typical night out but the food lived up to the price. The food is definitely worth the trip and money. Service was good too.
Came here with my girlfriend four our anniversary date. Debatably the best dinner/meal I’ve ever had in my life. The Japanese A5 Wagyu beef was the best beef I’ve ever tasted. Got the Australian Wagyu for my entree, and it was very good. Tempura shrimp were amazing. Dessert was very good also. Cool interior and ambiance, beautiful place. Can’t wait to come back here for my next dinner!
Great experience! Best sushi I have ever tasted. Went for a Valentine’s celebration, highly recommended for date night !
