Morimoto Ratings and Reviews
We have been here previously for a chef tasting for our birthdays and loved it, so we didn’t it again and weren’t disappointed! Everything was amazing as usual ❤️☺️ Joe our server was so nice and really made the night that much better! We will definitely be back! Thanks for being so wonderful and always making our birthdays so special!
The Sake was fantastic, the food was possibly the best I've ever had, the service was friendly, top notch, and extremely professional. The ambiance was good and the restaurant wasn't too loud.
I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone I know for the quality of the food alone.
We went to Morimoto to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were in Philadelphia for the marathon and had our 2 year old daughter with us, who has special needs. The staff was very accommodating finding us the right table for our family and the manager went out of his way to check on us to make sure we were having a nice dining experience. The service was tip notch-our waiter did a great job explaining everything on the menu. Last, but not least, the food was AMAZING. This was one our most memorable meals to date. We will be back!
Everything was outstanding! The food was absolutely delicious! It was flavorful and unique, our waitress was friendly, and our food came out quickly after we ordered. The atmosphere was really fun too! I loved the lights all around the tables and the sculptures on the walls. One negative was that the prices were a bit high. But I will still definitely be going back!
Impressive, elegant atmosphere - went for a business lunch. It wasn't crowded and was quiet at lunchtime. Ethereal lighting provides a serene yet new age feel that was the perfect ambiance for thinking outside the box. Lunch menu provided wonderful food with relatively large portions. Impressed our client with the unique environment, high quality service, and excellent food. Miso soup that came with the lunch entrees was amazingly good.
An amazing dining experience. The atmosphere is upscale, the food was delicious, and the servers were friendly and attentive. Dinner and drinks for two was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant I was pleasantly surprised and I believe you will be as well.
Mother/Daughter night in Philadelphia. We had the Wagyu dumplings, which were so tender with fantastic flavor. We followed that with the edamame and since it was the two of us they offered us a half size order, which was really nice since the full order was huge, the half size was still plenty. After that we had the shrimp tempura sushi roll, which had a nice crunch piece of asparagus and a spicy mayo, it was delicious! We also had the spicy tuna roll and it was amazing as well. To top the night off we had the fiery chocolate torte, so cool! Everyone wanted it :) it was also very good.
Our service was impeccable. Greg was our server and he was phenomenal. He asked us some questions to get a feel for the experience we were looking for and made perfect suggestions and was not pushy whatsoever. He was very attentive and made our experience great.
The only downfall was how loud it was in the restaurant, we could barely hear the server over all the noise. But it was overall a great experience!
We truly enjoyed our visit to Morimoto. It's our second time here, although last time was ~10 years ago, also the last time we visited Philadelphia. It did not disappoint, just as wonderful as it had been last time we were here. We chose the seasonal omekase, which was delicious and perfectly proportioned. We especially enjoyed the toro tartare, wagyu beef, and sushi courses. The soy creme brulee dessert was divine, as was the strawberry cream eclair my son enjoyed. The service was outstanding, friendly and super-professional. We really appreciated that the staff was very gracious to our 7 year old son - he really enjoyed being treated just like a grownup. Thank you for a lovely experience!
This was the best sushi place I ever ate at. Had the tasting menu which was fantastic. Business partner had the duck, duck, duck. Tried the duck and it was to die for. His wife had chicken noodle soup to start and was the best ever. Was expensive but well worth the $$$.
The food is always exceptional. Tonight's dinner started with slices of foie gras and eel with a side of flavored rice, we closed our eyes and savored every morsel, a truly unique combination that was to be eaten by combining pieces of the foie gras and the eel . My companion had the seafood hot pot - the scallops and shrimp were huge - the lobster cut into manageable pieces - all perfectly cooked in a magic broth with bok choi and other vegetables. I had the duck dish, slices of rare duck breast and a confit leg with a side of rice that I couldn't stop eating. Go!
We had the Omakase, which I thought was interesting and good, but didn't make it to great. They got off to an impressive start, as the first three raw fish courses were excellent, as was the first cooked course of black cod. For me it went somewhat downhill from there. Skate wing was unexciting and towards overcooked; probably the weakest course. Duck dish had excellent flavors but the duck was crispy because it was deep fried, and hence, to me, overcooked. Sushi course was made up of excellent quality fish, but I simply find Morimoto's sushi rice underseasoned. Dessert was a yuzu infused cake; flavor was interesting and my husband liked it a great deal, but it didn't do much for me. Next time I will know how to order more to my taste.
a delicious mushroom soup preceded the phenomenal sushi special--needlefish, sword, uni, mantis shrimp, and 4 other mouthwatering meltin the mouth pieces. shiso ice cream cake for dessert. all stunningly presented. my wife had a fantastic miso and a great bowl with rice/egg/hamachi prepared at the table. sake anbd a beer. quite pricey and waaaaay tooooo loud, but excellent service and attentiveness
I spoke to the restaurant 2 days before our reservation and explained we were celebrating the marriage of our son. I SPELLED THEIR NAMES for a special dessert. We talked to your front desk about it when we arrived. NO SPECIAL DESSERT came out even after we ordered dessert. This is unacceptable. The manager gave us his card so if we ever needed a future reservation, he would help us. Really?
The food was mediocre at best and more expensive than most NYC’s best sushi restaurants. Morimoto should be ashamed. We were very disappointed.
This is my 3rd visit to the restaurant. Service is excellent and your glass is never empty. But the food quality seems to be going downhill. Wild mushrooms dish was bitter and had a medincial taste, probably there are much rosemary . Calamari salad was soggy and sour. And the $130 sashimi platter, not a lots of varieties and portion is small too. We did enjoy the plum cheese cake with blood orange and this desert is refreshing. Very disappointed with their quality of food !
Best food we’ve ever had. It’s pricy but worth it. You’re eating an iron chefs food after all. Location is great. 2 blocks from the Liberty Bell. Parking is easy to find. They also have valet. Feel and vibe of the restaurant is modern and energized. Dress is nicer. Don’t wear a t-shirt and shorts. I’m not saying wear a suit and gown but collared shirt for the man and nice dress or blouse and skirt for the ladies.
Service. Also the best we’ve ever had. Never had an empty glass. Always making sure your happy with everything. Wait staff has excellent knowledge of the menu and will answer any question about any item. And everyone is very nice. Great attitudes.
Food and drinks. First off. I was warned about the prices so I wasn’t shocked. It’s expensive. No getting around it. But my god is it worth it. Drinks are fantastic. Food. The best. Wife and I both had the Morimoto omakase. It’s an 8 course chef’s choice meal. All the courses are one of their signature dishes. Well worth the price of $100 each. We won’t be making it back for years because it’s a 2 hr drive to Philly and we’re not made of money. But we will defiantly be going back some day.
Sadly disappointed in the knowledge and attention paid to being gluten free. The salad had to be remade and we ordered oysters that came out as just oysters...kinda like having a salad with no dressing. They made no effort to accommodate us and just gave us food by process of elimination without taking the time to replace what was taken away. Not a 5 star restaurant as it used to be I suppose. The morimoto in Disney springs walks circles around this out dated past it’s time place. Sushi was ok but honestly I have had better in local places and paid a lot less. We won’t be back and I won’t recommend this location.
We came here for my daughters 18th birthday dinner. From making the reservation, to ordering her cake, to the service the moment we walked in, everything was incredible! The whole staff took great pains to ensure the element of surprise throughout the night. The food was amazing. The cake created by pasty chef Veronica was beautifully unique and delicious. Our Server Sean was amazing and even pulled me into the kitchen to make sure I was happy with the candle placement on her cake. It was an impeccable dining experience and they made my daughters birthday even more special. I dine out frequently and consider myself picky-everyone at Morimoto surpassed every expectation. Sushi here is divine. I had the duck and it was perfection. I've never taken the time to write a review for anything-No exaggeration. HIGHLY recommend!
6 of us went for a bachelorette party. It was our first time at Morimotos and the start of our evening. Our waiter was absolutely amazing, he was very knowledgeable of the menu items, and went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Morimotos to anyone looking to celebrate something special or just a nice evening out. I can not wait to go back.
