Excellent, delicious and exciting. The service is world-class and consistently among the best I’ve ever had. I recommend getting the Morimoto omakase which is the chef’s selection of multiple courses. It’s for me what makes for the most special experience at the restaurant.

Inventive decor and menu beautifully executed. Guidance from our server was excellent. Loved our dinner, from the toro starter straight through to dessert

Outstanding food and service. Only drawback was I wish they had deboned my dover sole before serving it. There were so many small bones to navigate that I could only enjoy about half of the fish I was served.

This was my first time to Morimoto in Philadelphia. I have been to Morimoto in Manhattan many times and it’s one of our favorite places to visit. The location in Philadelphia is very good, the restaurant is very nice but the food was not great. We ordered the tasting menu for three people and also two A5 steaks for the table. The A5 should be one of the best steaks you have ever had. Everyone agreed that the steaks were not good at all and the sushi was just mediocre at best. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food when compared to New York.

I came here to celebrate my birthday, I was alittle disappointed as I requested to sit at the sushi bar to order the Omakase.

But the omakase was more of a tasting menu and not really all about Sushi/ the fish. So I decided to order a la carte. One per piece per fish that they had. The sushi chefs didnt make eye contact nor wanted to entertain us what so ever.

I just didnt feel important although I had ordered every sushi option on the menu. You would think maybe a smile or something. Nothing.

Excellent service at this we’ll know restaurant. The match dessert was amazing and the highlight. The signature dishes were delicious, though the lotus root was a bit salty. Great place! Will definitely dine there again!

The food and service was incredible. The tasting menu was perfectly spaced and the waiter was very in tune to our needs as far as ordering more drinks, wanting a little bit of space between courses, and general attentiveness. The food was, as expected, phenomenal. While I expected to have to drop $500 on the meal based on the location and status of the restaurant, I felt like I wasn't paying as much for the food as I was for the name.

All you can about this place is the service and food are phenomenal. Being a food network watcher you here the name Morimoto and you already have an idea that the food will be good, but this place far exceeded my expectations. Our waiter DJ or JD can't remember fully due too much hot sake, made every dish sound so delicious we went with all the dishes he recommended and couldn't have been more satisfied.

This place is amazing! My fiancé and I both order the Chefs Choice multi-course tasting menu and it was absolutely fantastic. We got two bottles of sake that was recommended by the waitress, each paired perfectly with the courses. We will be back!!

Way overpriced for overly salty or sweet dishes. There was no balance in any of the dishes!

Staff was amazing and attentive, but the food was garbage. Over-hyped, 20-year-old antiquated restaurant.

Although we were hurried in ordering because of the late reservation (1:45), the food was
excellent. The service was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Perhaps you should not take such a late reservation since you stop taking orders at 2:00pm.

Really disappointed with this visit to Morimoto. My wife and I had the seasonal Omakase and the only great dish was the first one — a tuna tartare. The worst part was that the sashimi course — the second to last course — looked great but all the flavors of the fish were lost because the wasabi was WAY to potent.

I was really embarrassed; this was suppose to be a celebration of a special occasion and my wife loves sushi.

Our $400+ meal at Morimoto paled in comparison to our $70 meal the next day at SugarFish in nyc. Definitely skip Morimoto.

Morimoto may be the finest restaurant in Philadelphia. From its rich ramen noodle soup to its exquisite wagyu beef, the good is consistently exceptional. Deserts are a special occasion in themselves. Cheesecake sprinkled with persimmons created just the right taste sensation. The presentations are an art form in themselves. Altogether, a wonderful dining experience!

Food was good but expected more from an Iron chef’s restaurant.
The presentation/plating of the chef combination platter (sushi, sashimi, nigiri) was so ordinary. Everything was good though specially the tuna sashimi with some fat.
Tempura batter was great. However, the carrot tempura still needed a few more minutes or needed to be thinner.
Duck ramen was good. Chicken katsu was excellent. Charshu had some tough white fish sushi.
Also, after finishing up the chef platter, and soup and salad, it took forever for them to bring our entrees. Back of the house messed up the timing of preparing our entrees. They gave us some edamame to ease the wait. Edamame was good served with some rock salt. However, still not worth the wait.
All in all, good for the experience but most likely will not come back to this restaurant. Not worth another trip for us to the city.

We selected $150/person Chef's menu and upgraded the truffuls for $25/person. In the past years they served exquisite food for the money. However, this time the dishes were very simple and didn't worth the money.

Excellent diner at Morimoto for our party of three! I had Miso soup with Clams, beef Carpaccio and some sushi. Desserts were also outstanding, worth noticing for a Japanese restaurant (I am french). The sushi menu was very complete. Good service. Good cocktails too: mine had gin and Chartreuse- great combination. The atmosphere is trendy and the design quite beautiful. Too loud would be my only reserve.

My boyfriend and I ate here for our anniversary. Most of the food was quite good, especially the peppermint ice cream. I do, however, object to the $20 mushroom pot appetizer even though we’ve never met a mushroom we didn’t like. It was small in quantity, the larger mushrooms were tasty but rubbery and difficult to chew, and there was nothing special about it except a pretty presentation.

The sushi was some of the best I have ever had. The servers were excellent and really knew their stuff. It seemed to even have the real wasabi root. The place is visually beautiful on the inside and could definitely win you over before you even eat anything. I ended up getting the lunch sushi combination plate which provided 7 or 8 pieces of nigiri (I believe) and then one tuna roll as well. It also included the miso soup and salad. However, the cost is fairly high, although obviously the quality is there. I personally will only be able to attend for special occasions though, and probably only at lunch.
