As expected for Chef Morimoto's restaurant, this is the place to enjoy high-quality Japanese fusion cuisine. What particularly impressed me was that even most simplistic dishes offered as appetizers were elevated. I enjoyed my cha soba noodles as much if not more than the main course. Not cheap but definitely worth the money.

This is my second time here and totally worth it! This time I had the $65 sushi platter and every piece of fish tasted like butter. It was outstanding all regards. My friends has the omakase tasting menu which I had last time, which was fantastic. The miso black cod is always the highlight. The space itself is beautiful and intriguing. A great place for a conversation. I highly recommend Morimoto.

Dinner was awesome, the level of something that's not just dinner but an experience, almost a little vacation. Flavor combinations are inspired. The whitefish carapaccio was delectable. A surf-and-turf hot appetizer of seared foie gras and eel in a drizzle of eel demiglace. Tender, perfect Dover sole and the "duck duck duck," including a breast cooked about a well as I've ever seen duck cooked. It's not cheap by Philly standards but the ingredients and preparation is first-rate, and I'd rather do this once in a while than any number of lesser spots.

My fiance and I got one of the regular tasting menu and one of the seasonal tasting menu to share and they were both fantastic. The fish was very fresh and flavors were spot on. We love food and the Philly restaurant scene, but this food was better than we have had in awhile and the atmosphere and service were great as well. Usually when dining out there is at least one little slip up of a forgotten fork or empty water glass, but this is the first restaurant I've eaten at where I don't remember a single missed detail. Great job Morimoto!

We liked Morimoto. The service was excellent. The ambience was very unique. However, the food was just Ok. This should be different and better than my local sushi restaurant, and it just wasn't. Celebrity chef restaurants tend toward the overblown.

Was in town for a conference and since I've been trying to visit Iron Chef restaurants around the US I knew this had to be on the list. I made my reservation about 5 weeks in advance and was glad that I did. From the moment we entered this super zen restaurant until we finished the last nibble of the creme brulee we felt welcomed and well cared for. We selected the Chef's tasting menu and were so happy we did. The wide variety of items and various preparation methods were outstanding. Absolutely everything we tasted was delicious. Being a fish lover is important as the majority of the delights were fish focused. A nice surprise was the crispy duck dish. The wait staff was wonderful. They paced the 8 courses beautifully. Very attentive without being intrusive. They were happy to answer our questions about each course...even though a few of the staff running out plates were a bit rushed and robotic in their explanation of what were were eating...when we asked them to repeat or explain they were happy to oblige. It wasn't until about half way through our meal that we noticed how the lighting all around the tables and throughout this beautiful space changed over the course of the evening. That was a lovely and beautiful surprise. Our meal timed out at about 2 hours...while it was an amazingly relaxed meal...we could't believe how quickly the time went by. I would highly recommend the tasting menu if you are a first timer like we were. Cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience...eating here was not just eating...it was the entire experience that made it memorable. Well done.

I left satisfied after finally trying the famous Morimoto restaurant. Though the price was high, as expected, I had the opportunity to try plenty of novel and relatively exotic fare. The experience is worth a visit.

I have NO idea why it’s taken me years (a lot of years!) to return to Morimoto! My first experience was so amazing that I still believe & argue that spending my month’s rent on my meal was 100% worth it. So it’s no surprise that my next time back was just as good - it’s really nice to know that Morimoto remains consistently great all these years later.
Thanks to the staff for making me & my 7 yo niece feel special. Even when she may have decided 1/2-way through dinner that she missed her mom & wanted to go home. It’s a real testament to how fabulous the sushi rolls were that she was able to forget about wanting to leave as soon as they arrived. Looking forward to a return trip soon - next time with an adult companion!

Morimoto never disappoints. My second time there, my second time with the omakase, though i went with the seasonal this time around. Amazing. Great way to experience alot of the menu, which is awesome because when you look at the menu there’s a lot of things you’ll want to try. Sushi of the highest quality. Great experience with a party of 9, and my wife who doesn’t really enjoy sushi had no problem finding items she loved, i.e. the wagyu filet served on a sizzling plate which I was very thankful she shared. Amazing. 5 Starstop to bottom.

The Sake was fantastic, the food was possibly the best I've ever had, the service was friendly, top notch, and extremely professional. The ambiance was good and the restaurant wasn't too loud.

I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone I know for the quality of the food alone.

We went to Morimoto to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were in Philadelphia for the marathon and had our 2 year old daughter with us, who has special needs. The staff was very accommodating finding us the right table for our family and the manager went out of his way to check on us to make sure we were having a nice dining experience. The service was tip notch-our waiter did a great job explaining everything on the menu. Last, but not least, the food was AMAZING. This was one our most memorable meals to date. We will be back!

Everything was outstanding! The food was absolutely delicious! It was flavorful and unique, our waitress was friendly, and our food came out quickly after we ordered. The atmosphere was really fun too! I loved the lights all around the tables and the sculptures on the walls. One negative was that the prices were a bit high. But I will still definitely be going back!

Impressive, elegant atmosphere - went for a business lunch. It wasn't crowded and was quiet at lunchtime. Ethereal lighting provides a serene yet new age feel that was the perfect ambiance for thinking outside the box. Lunch menu provided wonderful food with relatively large portions. Impressed our client with the unique environment, high quality service, and excellent food. Miso soup that came with the lunch entrees was amazingly good.

Mother/Daughter night in Philadelphia. We had the Wagyu dumplings, which were so tender with fantastic flavor. We followed that with the edamame and since it was the two of us they offered us a half size order, which was really nice since the full order was huge, the half size was still plenty. After that we had the shrimp tempura sushi roll, which had a nice crunch piece of asparagus and a spicy mayo, it was delicious! We also had the spicy tuna roll and it was amazing as well. To top the night off we had the fiery chocolate torte, so cool! Everyone wanted it :) it was also very good.

Our service was impeccable. Greg was our server and he was phenomenal. He asked us some questions to get a feel for the experience we were looking for and made perfect suggestions and was not pushy whatsoever. He was very attentive and made our experience great.

The only downfall was how loud it was in the restaurant, we could barely hear the server over all the noise. But it was overall a great experience!

We truly enjoyed our visit to Morimoto. It's our second time here, although last time was ~10 years ago, also the last time we visited Philadelphia. It did not disappoint, just as wonderful as it had been last time we were here. We chose the seasonal omekase, which was delicious and perfectly proportioned. We especially enjoyed the toro tartare, wagyu beef, and sushi courses. The soy creme brulee dessert was divine, as was the strawberry cream eclair my son enjoyed. The service was outstanding, friendly and super-professional. We really appreciated that the staff was very gracious to our 7 year old son - he really enjoyed being treated just like a grownup. Thank you for a lovely experience!

The food is always exceptional. Tonight's dinner started with slices of foie gras and eel with a side of flavored rice, we closed our eyes and savored every morsel, a truly unique combination that was to be eaten by combining pieces of the foie gras and the eel . My companion had the seafood hot pot - the scallops and shrimp were huge - the lobster cut into manageable pieces - all perfectly cooked in a magic broth with bok choi and other vegetables. I had the duck dish, slices of rare duck breast and a confit leg with a side of rice that I couldn't stop eating. Go!
