Morimoto New York
Everything was simply amazing! We went for our wedding anniversary... they gave us a beautiful table with view for the kitchen. Every single dish we ordered was impeccable in taste and presentation. Our server was fabulous, he had complete knowledge of the menu, gave wonderful recommendations. The sake selection is great... it was a magical night! Will definitely come more often, not only for special occasions... is THAT good! ❤️
nice place , good food , a little bit high price, but is worth it
Great food, but very very loud. It is very NY. So for us being from Oregon it was a fun experience.
Very good food
Excellent lunch. Great service. Recommend it highly
Very cool atmosphere. Food was delicious. Loved everything about this place. Even the loo downstairs.
We had friends in who know Japanese food and they said it rivaled 5 star restaurants in Japan.
The fire doused desert made the final decision as “ best ever”
It was a gastronomic delight for the senses! Everything was to perfection!
The ambiance was great & the food was excellent!
I must start out by stating that I do not like seafood nor do I eat sushi. My Best Friend is a big fan of Asian food, sushi and seafood. She is the ultimate foodie. She also believes that you eat first with your eyes. She is turning 50 this month and I wanted to do something special for her. I have watched Iron Chef for years and Morimoto is my favorite chef. The food he makes is beautiful to look at and very innovative. I decided to take her to dinner as my gift to her. We arrived early and were seated immediately. The hostess was friendly and accommodating to our requests. The waiter was polite, knowledgeable and eager to help me through my first experience with Japanese cuisine. He patiently explained the menu and made recommendations when asked. We order the pork gyoza dumplings, spicy king crab and hot stone wagyu for appetizers. The dumplings were hidden under a potato tweedle and bacon foam. Amazing flavor with wonderful textures. The crab was soo good my best friend shushed me after her first bite leaned her head and back and closed her eyes. I actually ate 3 pieces of it, that's how good it was. The hot stone steak melted in your mouth and was fun to cook. The sushi and maki my friend had was the best sushi in her opinion. My ribeye wagyu was the best steak I have ever tasted. Desert, a flaming chocolate ball has to be seen. It was amazing, as was our cocktails. Morimoto is an experience everyone should have in their life. Go to Morimoto's, you will not regret it.
As always an amazing experience. On more than a few occasions me and my guests had the luxury of having Sarah and were lucky again, we also were served by Michael. Both did a phenomenal job in recommendations in sushi and saki alike.
Outstanding restaurant - like Nobu but better !!! Sushi , sashimi and black cod outstanding
Service was poor, food high quality but missing the extraordinary. Portions small. Wine list was inappropriate with too little choices.
I have been to much better Morimoto restaurants.
Absolutely a wonderful meal. We sat at the chef counter and everything was delicious and the service was spot on.
fantastic atmosphere great food impeccable service!! 100% recomendable
It was incredible.
Great food - the chef’s choice and sake pairing was impressive. Overall experience was only a 4/5 though — why? I was here for a date; unfortunately, I was trying to hard and came off as a total “douchebag”. Luckily though, her friends vouched for me and I got another shot. We went to Raine’s Law Room after - it was so-so.
Awesome place, go there whenever we have a opportunity.
The ambience, restaurant and food including our server Sarah were all terrific. Definitely a redo.
As usual Morimoto never disappoints, every location I have been to, 5 within the US in the last 12 months , is consistent in their produce service and ambience always a fabulous night thanks again!!
Best japanese restaurant for family with young kid in nyc. The food is fabulous. Will come again soon.
Seasonal menu was excellent
Yes for sushi if in the neighborhood. Appetizers were great but overall uncderqhelming. Bass was undercooked
Amazing and breathtakingly good. The sashimi is out of this world.
Just normal restaurant.
We’ve been to the Morimoto in Philadelphia and enjoyed our experience there more. The food is great at both places. However, the tables are veryclose to one another and you feel like you’re on a date with the people sitting next to you. The tables are small too and that is okay except the food is presented on too big of plates for the table.
Way too much salt in many food items. Wagyu beef was phenomenal and tasted amazing. Waiters would do well to have a little less attitude, though the service men who took the plates away were very polite.
I like Morimoto a lot. This is maybe the 4th time I've been. I particularly love the rock shrimp appetizer and the duck duck goose is a great entree. The glazed cod is also good. My wife's surf and turf was good, probably not great. The service is good but a little pretentious.
Great good. The atmosphere was not my style, but overall the experience was wonderful and the food outweighed any atmosphere concerns.
The food is delicious! Lunch is a true bargain. Very quiet during weektime lunch. Love this place!!!
This was the third time I went. The first two times everybody was very nice and attentive. This time our waiter just seat us and did nothing else, we have to call another for water. He did not gave us suggestions about the menu or help us. I order for dessert a cheesecake and is the first time I didn’t ate a dessert. It did not taste like a cheesecake at all. For a expensive restaurant, I expected more attention.
We've been wanting to dine here for years and finally booked a table to celebrate my wife's birthday. As expected, the interior is stunning with lots of white, gray and glass features. Even the chopsticks are translucent.
We started the night with lychee fruit martini's and their (apparently) famous spicy rock ship... Incredible. Next we dove into the sushi, which was extremely good. My favorite was the Toro Spicy Tuna Roll (seasonal). We ended the night with a deconstructed apple pie served in a bento box.
In the end, Morimoto did not disappoint. If you're visiting NYC as a tourist, I would also say that this is a neighborhood you definitely want to check out with Chelsea Market, Whitney Museum and the High Line. Cheers.
Very nice ambiance but service didnt do it for me knowing that it costs so much to eat there. Overrated. Sorry
Always fun at Morimoto and the food is always outstanding!
I came here a few times, I really love this place! The food is really tasty and good, I mean its a Iron Chef:-)
Never had a problem with service, reservations. Its just a great place to go either with friends or just a couple. It is a bit pricey but totally with it! :-)
Love it here. Second visit. Music a little too loud. But great service. Kind amazing food
Wonderful experience all around. We were graciously seated 30 minutes prior to our reservation. The seats were very comfortable. The atmosphere was great. Beautiful decor. The Rock Shrimp appetizer is the best I’ve ever eaten. Sea bass entree was a very generous portion and very tasty. The surf and turf was a wagu skirt steak, hamachi over avocado mash and a potato cake. I highly recommend this dish. It’s not as generous a potion but the taste was spot on. A side of pea leaves was also delicious. A bit salty by very tasty. The wine list is excellent and our waiter was very helpful as was the entire staff. A truly wonderful dinner experience.
