Night out with my wife. The whole place had a great vibe!! Definitely a place to come again

For some reason, I have been some 5-6 times at the restaurant, always reserving with Open Table, and the table I got was always at the entrance of the restaurant. Never in the main room... once is ok but why always? Is it by design?

My wife and I have eaten at many great restaurants around the world but we both were simply blown away at our experience at Morimoto in New York. We elected the tasting menu and every course was simply spectacular. The elegance of the ingredient/flavor blending, the beauty of the presentations and the overall experience put that meal in the category of best in our lives.

I would be remiss if I didn't also specifically mention our server Evan. He was warm and engaging, attentive but not overbearing and overall capped off what we considered a truly perfect experience.

Two of us ordered the omakase. It was chef's choice of tastings. Including dessert, there were seven courses. Each course was creatively prepared and of course, there was plenty of fish in the tastings. Food was very enjoyable and different. It was a bit loud, but energy in the restaurant.

The food and service was amazing. We had the waygu steak and it was cooked perfectly.

One of us was a vegan. One of us was gluten-free and dairy free. We were seven people and only one person had tasty food. That was the rock shrimp. The amount of tartare that one got in the salmon and yellow tail was minuscule. Almost laughable. The vegan diner felt as if he was eating dishwater and didn’t count it all… Amazing that they couldn’t come up with something more palatable and interesting and flavorful. Very disappointing we will Not return to this restaurant. And the service was so so sloppy sloppy sloppy. Not very nice people.

Excellent food, excellent service. My only complaint, for the sake of pointing it out, is that the bathroom is hard to find and it took three employees to get me there because of the maze-like placement of it. Amazing steak and sushi, though!

Amazing! My boyfriend and I are huge sushi fans and this did not disappoint. The restaurant has such a modern vibe and the service was lovely. The food, though pricey, was incredible. Would definitely reccomend the bone marrow! A must for any sushi lover.

If you're looking for a quiet date night spot go elsewhere! This place is loud!

Don't skip the ramen it is delicious!

Servers are attentive but not intrusive.

Make sure that you use the restroom!

All in all would def recommend. It's worth the experience.

Took an hour to get our dinner

Morimoto was an absolute amazing experience. Our waiter knew what he was talking about and had excellent customer service skills. I love when waiters get on a personal level with the customers, he mentioned knowing a lot about these specific sweet potatoes because he had lived in Japan for 3 years. The food was hands down the best Japanese food I have ever had. I’m so glad we chose this place to celebrate my 21st birthday. I will definitely be coming back when I’m in New York next!!

Wonderful food. Wait staff is extremely attentive. Just waited a bit long to get my food. My food was not that hot. It my guest’s food came hot. Timing of food preparation must have been off. Lovely place. Would dine again.

Fish was not good!! I had stomachache afterwards.. Service very inattentive and rude. Atmosphere was nice, but overall very disappointing

The best sushi i have ever tastes , i felt that they where cheap too! 6 sushi from 10-15! Very upscale ambience. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Terrible service.

From the time we walked in we were met with amazing customer service. The food was impeccable and between the tables where we sat was sound proof glass so our conversations were private.

This is a New York Classic because it deserves to be.

Came here for out 1 year wedding anniversary! What a great experience. Never disappointed. Food is 10 out of 10 and the service is perfect. Thank you to all that made our night that much more special.

We were a bit early but we were seated immediately, the food was excellent! service was great, by far One of my favorite restaurants in NYC!

We ordered the tasting menu and the Fugu upgrade. We were excited because this was the first time that either of us had Fugu. However, it wasn't identified during the meal and we had no idea which course it was. We mentioned this and they brought us a photo of the course which neither of us recognized. Rather than argue, we moved on. Very disappointing. The tasting menu was otherwise quite good. The sushi was particularly good. Social norms being what they are, I still left a substantial tip. There are too many great Japanese restaurants in New York to ever go back though.

Hands down my favorite restaurant for sushi. Never had a bad meal there. I will be back.

Fantastic!

We love this restaurant and keep coming back. It is so convenient when you visit the Whitney , Chelsea market or anything else in the Meatpacking district. The food never disappoints. And the decor doesn’t seem to age. It will as cool and modern as when it opened. This time we went for lunch, and both the sea bass and the cod were delicious. The cod is always a standout!!

For the tasting menu, the main course is outstanding, but others need more work.

Took to Long at 35 minutes for food at slow lunch time. Not acceptable wait even for great food

Such a disappointment. The music was too loud and the tasting menu though delicious was overpriced. There should be three more playes it $40 less.

The staff was exemplary.

I tried every dish on the table and everything was good except the dish I ordered, the duck, duck, goose. The flavor was alright, but the way it was cut made it so much work to eat the dish and I eventually gave up on being able to eat more than half the dish.

Absolutely amazing. Best sushi I’ve ever eaten. Cocktails were great as well! Will definitely come back next time I’m in NYC.

Great spot and quality food!

Since first watching the original Japanese Iron Chef in the early 90’s, Chef Morimoto has been a favorite of ours.

Morimoto’s in Chelsea is an absolutely fantastic experience! The creativity, freshness & taste of the food is off the charts! The service is extremely attentive & knowledgeable, & we particularly enjoyed our waiter Jack. The handcrafted cocktails were refreshing & delicious! This was our second visit to Morimoto’s & we are so looking forward to our third!!
