Morimoto New York
It was wonderful. It is a bit costly, but for Morimoto, it is reasonable. The food there is amazing. The service is great and friendly. All in all, it was a great experience. My favorite thing is that they explained the meal to you and suggested how you should eat it, which made the experience even more wonderful. I will be back.
Beautiful ambiance and amazing sushi quality. Loved the seasonal sushi selection. Excellent classy date for your significant other.
Food was okay, the only decent bite I had the whole night was the copper river salmon. I can't complain about any of the dishes, but for the price and portion size I would expect something much better.
A very good restaurant. Great food, the waiter was excellent and the decor is fabulous.
Everything was perfect. They even accommodated us when we added one more too our party last minute. Thanks for the exceptional service and fine dining experience.
Delicious, nice place! I’d love return again. Absolutely recommend my friends
fun spot in meatpacking, lively crowd on a wednesday - nice spot to bring a date with a trendy atmosphere
Food was very good, but extremely hastily served and the wait staff impolitely put the check on the table while were still eating and took the receipt away before I signed for the credit card. The dining experience itself felt much more like being at a discount chain restaurant despite the great food.
We snagged a 2020 NYC Restaurant Week lunch reservation and we were not disappointed! Our party of four had two each of the sushi, sashimi, hamachi appetizer and gyoza appetizer on the Restaurant Week menu. Delicious! Freshest sushi and sashimi and we’ve been to Tokyo. And the mochi dessert combo was just perfect. We shared two of them and it was the perfect ending. We will definitely be back (2020 NYC Restaurant Week)!
The atmosphere of Morimoto is nice, but the Restaurant Week portions are a joke. When we sat down the waiter suggested that we order appetizers off of the regular menu. I was a bit disturbed at the up-selling, but it ended up being necessary! After we had our regular menu appetizers, it took a half an hour to get our Restaurant Week appetizers. One of my sisters and I ordered the hamachi in ponzu sauce. There were two measly slices of fish and the sauce was like a teriyaki sauce. My sisters both got the black cod, their fillets were literally an ounce each! I got the skirt steak which was cut with the grain, not against the grain. If you are going to be cheap about Restaurant Week, just don't participate. I will never go back there!
Very nice restaurant. The staff was very professional and came to check on us a few times. Came to add water before requested. Overall experience was very pleasant.
Food was underwhelming.
Morimoto was an incredible culinary experience. The service was great where the servers and runners were always very attentive so we never had to ask for anything like water refills or struggling to place another drink order. We went for restaurant week so we tried their prefix option and also an a la carte entree option (surf and turf) and all of it was so delicious. I cannot speak for the a la carte portion sizing of appetizers but for restaurant week, they were a bit small but the flavors of the two we tried were wonderful (the pork skewers and hamachi sashimi), we ordered the sushi and sashimi plate for entrees and for dessert, we tried both of them. The dessert was the perfect end to the meal since they weren’t too sweet and just the right portion for me. Overall, I’d love to come back to Morimoto to try all of their other menu offerings! Great food, not very loud, neutral warm decor with warm personalities. Loved it.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We are more of a sushi bar sit down crowd and enjoyed chatting it up with the chefs. Great saki and drink list options. Pricey but worth it for sushi.
Most amazing ambiance and the food was delicious. Definitely such a great establishment
We went there for lunch and had a very cozy and comforting experience. The server was a bit casual but friendly. The only thing I would say about the restaurant week lunch menu is that you will not feel like you had a full lunch. Some people will feel that the amount does not live up to the price at all. However, the sushi was fresh and delicious and the dessert (which is optional) is a must!!
Portions were small but the quality was through the roof.
I went to restaurant with family in restaurant weeks. The food is fine but too small portions. The service is great. We had to go to another restaurant again.
*3-course Restaurant Menu
- Hamachi Sashimi was fresh, served over a bead of pea leaves, jalapeno ponzu wasn't overpowering, delicious and appetizing.
- Pork Skewers was so tender, mostly lean with a right amount of fattiness, flavorful and satisfying.
- Braised Black Cod and Skirt Steak were both well-executed in preparation, flavors, and presentation.
- Rock Shrimp (add-on) is one of our favourite dishes, yummy as usual.
- Shiro Choko is a refreshing summer dessert, boldly tart passion fruit sorbet paired really well with sesame and white chocolate cream giving it a nice balance in flavor, while the marble meringue adds texture and subtle sweetness.
- Natsu Hana was not too sweet nor tart, nice and light dessert.
- Excellent service overall
Really good presentation for restaurant week dishes! Would definitely recommend this to friend and anyone looking for a good meal.
Outstanding sushi and ingredients. Sea bass was amazing. Was extremely disappointed with service. Waiter was condescending and inattentive until it was close to closing and we were asked three times if we wanted more sushi (a poorly disguised up sell). The last time we were already eating entrees. Unimpressed in comparison to other restaurant experiences in Nee York.
It was a good experience but the food quality was not as I expected
The ambiance and service are very good but the food?? I ve had better
My wife ended up with chewing gum on her dress ruining the evening. They reduced the bill but the evening was ruined and she had to go to broadway show uncomfortable (there was no time to go back to the hotel and change). At this level of restaurant I would expect the whole bill to disappear.
Just love the atmosphere and the food so much!!!! I can’t wait to go back.
All around amazing. Great interior design, service, food, and drinks!
Extremely pricey and trendy. If you like trendy great!
Excellent service, good food for restaurant week .
We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday and they did
Pay attention to that celebration. There was 5 of us so we were able to order all appetizers and they were fantastic but portions got smaller from last time we were here except for the miso soup. We will surely be back again even just for the melting chocolate ball dessert love it .
The steak is too salty to put into your mouth. The receptionist does not do their job right to bring customer to the table they requested. We reserve a table for 3 but we are brought to a long table to share with others while there are a lot of individual tables available for 3-4. The restaurant week menu portion has shrink to an unacceptable size not even enough for a lady who is on diet. The worst is the sashimi entree that is put in a round black plastic tray instead of a sushi plate which is absolutely unacceptable!!!!! Last but not the least the restroom is dirty!!!!!
Very nice place. I went there for restaurant week and they treated us very well. With restaurant week I feel the treatment is not the same in some places but Morimoto offered an excellent customer service and really nice food!
Do think about it...just go and enjoy.
Restaurant week deal is comical, and an insult that someone would be full off of such minuscule portions and poorly cooked food. Pork skewer was overcooked and dry, the hamachi appetizer w/ peashoots was SO incredibly salty, and the codfish was such a small portion I was embarrassed that my guests originally were excited for the restaurant. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that the regular menu is much better, but steer clear for restaurant week.
Loved it! The braised cod was delicious and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend! The staff was so friendly and accommodating despite our group making multiple changes to the reservation.
The food was awesome! Everything is delicious!!!
The spicy salmon roll was amazing.
We did the restaurant week dinner option and also had two orders of sushi.
The appetizers were awful, the blackened cod was great but small and the wagyu beef was disappointing, the desserts were refreshing but not really what we were expecting.
However, the service and ambiance were great!
We went there for lunch during restaurant week. Food was heavy, chicken main in particular. Service is good but sometimes too annoying.
They took about 30 mins to serve our desert. Other than that everything else was good. Food was great and ambience perfect.
