My daughter is a huge 'Iron Chef' fan, so took her to Morimoto for her birthday. Was totally ready for it to be a over-hyped and a letdown. I was extremely wrong. 3 appetizers, 3 different mains, 1 order of sushi and a desert - every single item was brilliant (ok, the sushi was just good sushi but everything else was amazing).

Way too loud in the second room and way too bright. I’m 32 and my hearing is fine. Couldn’t hear my girlfriend at all. Food was good and service was fantastic-

The food was a little too sweet for multiple dishes. The lighting was fine when we first sat down but was soon turned down too dark.

Great food.
Too noisy for us, even in the “quiet “ room. Music from overhead speakers louder than an average conversation level.
Cold draft of outside air during the entire meal.

We dine there somewhat often and highly recommend it to others. Exceptional sushi and sashimi. We prefer the sushi bar as the dinning tables are too deep and place the guests too far across from each other.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had reservations for 11:30am, right at opening time, which was great because it wasn't crowded or noisy yet. We finished around 1pm and the place was starting to pick up.

Every time I've come to Morimoto, I get the tasting menu, so decided to order a la carte this time to switch it up. The four of us started off with the spicy crab legs and bone marrow, which were both amazing. The crab legs were open-faced style and topped with a spicy tobiko sauce that had us wanting more. We were all seriously licking all the sauce off! The crab was nice and meaty. The bone marrow also did not disappoint. It was topped with bread crumbs which was just divine.

For our entrees, 2 of us ordered the uni carbonara udon lunch set, and the other 2 ordered spicy chirashi bowls. The lunch set came with a side salad or soup, 5 pieces of sushi (2 nigiri, 3 pieces of sushi roll), and tempura with yogurt dipping sauce. I also ordered a few more pieces of nigiri - Japanese uni, fatty toro, and a hamachi that wasn't on the menu that the waiter recommended. I enjoyed all the nigiri and sushi, with my favorites being the uni and toro. For my entree, let me preface by saying I loooooove uni pasta and can't help but order it if it's on the menu. I was pretty disappointed in this one. They didn't use the right type of pasta, which made the consistency pretty mushy. There was too much sauce and was only topped off with a tiny piece of uni. I'm used to lots of uni mixed into the whole plate. I've definitely had better and had higher expectations coming from a Morimoto restaurant. My brother ordered the uni carbonara pasta also and he enjoyed it, but wasn't a fan of the yogurt dip that came with the tempura. My companions who had the spicy chirashi bowls liked it, but said it wasn't spicy enough.

Would I come again? Of course! I just won't order the uni pasta again.

We were looking forward to having sushi and we heard a lot of good things about morimotos which I'm glad we tried but we won't go back for more. They didn't have much for sushi rolls- mostly sashimi. The apps we got were the best (clam chowder, ribs, and oysters) and dessert. I expected more. There's so many great restaurants in napa/Sonoma counties at half the price.

Great food and drinks. We were originally seated by a door that had a lot of staff traffic - and cold drafts. Since the restaurant was practically empty and we were all smartly dressed in sleeveless dresses this was very odd. But the wait staff reseated us at our request with no issue. Service was good.

I took my girlfriend here for dinner and it was amazing! The menu is extensive, with a lot of variety and some eclectic dishes. The decor is very hip and modern. We had their tuna tartare and chef's choice sashimi, and they both were amazing, and looked like works of art! And our waitress excellent and very knowledgable about the ingredients etc. Can't wait to come back!

My boyfriend and I have been to Morimoto’s twice now and had phenomenal experiences on both occasions. The service, drinks and ambiance are all great, but the food can’t be beat. We will never go to Napa without eating here!

My son has watched Morimoto on Iron Chef for years. I brought him for a celebration lunch and everyone was so kind with him. They even gave him a sushi chef headband which he has not yet taken off. Needless to say...the food and service were amazing!

Food was great, beautiful presentation and extremely high quality of seafood. Our server was knowledgeable and helped us with menu suggestions so our group could share and try a variety of items. We tried: Wagyu Beef carpaccio, pork gyoza, green salad, chefs selection of sashimi, and side of roasted vegetables. Very filling for 3 people. We topped it off with fabulous dessert -- just as enjoyable and creative as the entrees. It was a noisy room and difficult for conversation between the 3 of us, so less one star for ambience. Otherwise, highly recommend if you like interesting food.

Fresh sushi and seafood. Some dishes would have been better more simple - like the oysters and bone marrow. But still very tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Room is a little cold (temp) which took away from the ambiance

We ordered the Morimoto Ginjo sake which was quite good. The pork gyoza appetizer was so rich and savory, and was a wonderful starter for the meal. For the entrees we did the Sonoma Pasture Raised Lamb, and various sushi selections. The meal was perfect for a terrific birthday celebration. Sure, it's a little pricey, but I think one knows that going in, and it was certainly worth it. We plan to return next time we're in Napa!

The Wagyu beef is absolutely amazing

Also got some live octopus sashimi which had great texture and was very fresh.

My girlfriend had the duck, duck, goose - which she liked but I found to be dry

All in all it was good , a bit overpriced. I would tend to agree with what alot of others said about the place - it's good, but not Morimoto good.

My husband and I went there for his bday, I noted on open table that it was for his bday and made sure I reminded the hostess the day of about it. It was nice of them to give complimentary champagne and dessert. Service was wonderful. Food was great! We didn’t order the omakase coz we were hungry. And we weren’t disappointed. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the crab was one of my favorites. Rock shrimp tempura we could do without. The 16 oz ribeye steak was amazing.. dunno if I’ll pay $90 for that again. Lol. The seafood stew was good as well. Good for sharing.

Unfortunately, I wasn't very hungry so I only ordered the shrimp tempura sushi but it was FANTASTIC!! The sauce was spicy & delicious! Hubby had a California Roll, which he enjoyed, & then he had the pork chop that he really liked though he thought it was a bit fatty but I tasted it and LOVED it!! I would really like to visit again when my appetite is better!
