Consistency consistency consistency that’s why I keep going back to this fine establishment.
My wife loves the Iron Chef show on TV so we decided to go to Morimoto’s for our wedding anniversary and we went at lunchtime. The restaurant was not busy, but we thought that was great for us in that we would get better service. We were not disappointed. If you go to Morimoto, ask for Amir. Oh my goodness. He is a seasoned veteran. We told him that we wanted him to bring out dishes that be great choices for each course. We asked him to make up the meal and not choose off the menu. We shared plates with big tastes. We had white fish carpaccio. We had the rock shrimp tempera (the best we have ever had anywhere). We also had the spicy king crab......spicy and delicious!
We also had some delicious lacquered port short ribs.....the meat fell off the bone. A great assortment of sushi served with a very nice Saki. We also had a scrumptious dessert to top it off. It was a tofu cheesecake that was a game changer! Our hats off to Amir for making our 34 year anniversary a memorable one! Mark and Sylvia
PS. Special thanks to Amir for making a visit to Morimoto a memorable one!
The most amazing food possible! Presentation is out of this world. Staff are beyond helpful and always attentive. Morimoto should be proud if this Napa location!!
Had been to restaurant in Philadelphia years ago which was amazing. Restaurant seems to be cashing in on name but food just not up to those standards.
This place is phenomenal. The food, presentation and service is really some of the best I’ve ever received. Highly recommended.
We went out for a birthday dinner. My wife was not feeling well and all the servers took extra good care of her. I very much appreciated the level of service. Fortunately I was feeling fine and I must add, perhaps selfishly so, that the food was, as always, terrific.
Awesome, as usual. Our waitress, Giselle, was-WONDERFUL!
We ordered the eight course chef selection and every course was amazing! Highly recommend! Every dish was wildly creative yet well balanced.
Everything was very fresh and absolutely delicious! Our waiter was good except the kitchen was a bit slow and they forgot one item. Overall, it was worth the drive and we would definitely be back.
A great evening with delightful food and some unique combinations of flavors. Loved the oysters and the sushi was so good. We’ll be back.
My husband and I went to Morimoto's while visiting Napa and loved it. It is a little pricey but super fun. It is a large venue, beautifully decorated and full of life... lots of fun.
Awesome Japanese restaurant. I love the fact that it was a blend of traditional and non traditional. The flavor profiles were amazing and the dessert was off the chart cool and tasty! I highly recommend!
Great food and service. Highly recommend.
Extraordinary food and service. Gourmet treatment of Japanese dishes. Expensive but worth it
Enjoyed the food, especially the super fresh sushi.
However, the music was so loud it was difficult to have a conversation even with the friends seated at our table.
There was a loud bass thumping music that played almost constantly.
It was very distracting and not appropriate for the beautiful decor of the restaurant.
Creative dishes, but some with too much ch spice that overpowered the delicate tastes of the fish dishes.
This restuarant is a catlogue of the undesirable characteristics of chain restaurants that attempt to provide a fine dining experience - an overly ambitious menu that they cannot deliver, loud, conversation dampening music, and while our server was personable and made a good effort he had too many tables to cover and was too often unavailable when we needed his assitance. There are at least two much better venues in Npa if you seek this tyle of food.
Not only was this an amazing dinner, it was a unique dining experience!!! We ordered the omakase and it was totally worth it. I felt like I was eating a meal designed for iron chef!! Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our dinner at Morimoto- Napa very much. The food was great and, more surprisingly, service was excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating, which isn’t always the case in a popular restaurant like this. The sticky ribs were a must. I could have eaten a plate of those for my meal. We all enjoyed our entrees- snapper, cod, and the yellowtail buri bop. The cocktails were innovative and impressive. We will definitely return!
The food and service was INCREDIBLE! Will for sure be back! Get the spicy king crap legs and black cod! So delicious! Monkey bread for dessert was so great if you like bananas! Such a fun treat!
I saw Morimoto's on a TV show and it looked amazing! I realized from the start that it would be an expensive outing but since it was for my birthday and Mother's Day I was OK with spending what we did. I was disappointed in the sushi, which is saying a lot as that is pretty much what this place is about. It was basic at best. The Tempura that came with the lunchbox was at least half peppers. The food is served in ceramic containers that reminded me of flower pots. While they might be artful, they were not easy to eat out of. My main course contained about 6 small pieces of Urchin- the rest was spaghetti, with peas and pancetta. I ordered escargot and had to ask at least twice to get it. I was truly looking forward to this and I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. For the money we spent we could have easily gotten this meal closer to home. Even the ambiance was not worth it.
The food was great and service was on point. We will definitely go back!
Overall the food, service and bar were very good.
Very trendy restaurant like you’d see in San Francisco.
The Wagyu Beef carpaccio ($23) was good (not great) and the Humachi Tacos ($15) were very bland, almost like they were missing an ingredient. The pictured Sticky Ribs ($16) were excellent/crazy good. The pictured Spicy Alaskan King Crab ($28) was very good, although it was drenched in the sauce, taking away from the crab itself (spicy sauce on the side would be the way to go on this). The sea urchin carbonara ($25) was very rich & decadent.
Tasting menu and Sake paring was an absolute delight. Would recommend to anyone looking for the true Morimoto experience.
Most amazing sushi ever. The rice is so delicious in a way you didn’t know sushi rice could be. Freshest fish. The uni pasta dish (pasta with sea urchin) is outstanding. Love this restaurant. And the service was perfect.
We went to Morimoto’s five times in 6 days on this trip so that tells you how much we love it!! The staff, the food, and the presentation are all amazing and top of the charts for sure! My fave is the black cod and my husband’s is the halibut. All the sushi and appetizers are excellent and desserts are special so save room if you can! You can sit indoors or outside and either is very nice as well. Have fun, treat yourself to something special just because!
I came for a quick bite and drink. Rich was very helpful in recommending a sake. The Saba and Uni (domestic and Japanese) we’re delicious.
This was the first time we visited the Morimoto in Napa. We have been to the one in Las Vegas. Their menus are different. We liked this one as well. They have a wide variety of Asian inspired food. We especially liked the "Sticky Ribs". The meat was falling off the bone. Will go again.
Another great meal and terrific service! We’re gong four times while in Napa as it’s always the best. Everything is delicious and you can know whatever you choose will be presented well and made to perfection!
Food was perfect and the service was awesome!
We sat outside and ordered some of our faves when we visit which are the delicious black cod luncheon along with tamago and California sushi. We also started with the two types of shrimp tempura and both were yummy!! For dessert we shared an amazing item which had the following in a martini type glass: white chocolate ganache, pop rocks (they went with it - trust me), coconut foam, mango sorbet, tapioca pearls. Best dessert hands down we decided!
We love it so are going back two more times while here. Once we ate here every day while here but we have to go to SF a couple of days as well.
Food and wine were amazing, wait staff very knowledgable and helpful. Service was excellent, we ordered the omakase and were delighted! Able to try different wines and courses it was not cheap but worth every penny.
we had a wonderful time and would love to go back any time. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, thanks
It was a great lunch! :)
Amazing tasting menu!!
Food atmosphere bar and people all top rated a wonderful evening looking forward to returning as soon as possible.
We love Morimotos!!! We have been here several times and always look forward to returning.
The food is artistically presented and delicious. The wait staff is exemplary!
Everything on the menu was excellent no exception
Z delivered again!! We have had the pleasure of having him as our waiter twice before and this time, for my husbands Birthday, I requested him by name and we weren’t disappointed. We asked him to pick his own favorites and just keep things coming....from the white fish carpaccio to the wagyu to the alcohol pairings, he left us speechless. Will definitely come back again!!
I like very much the food.
The service was not good
Also I ask for a bottle of sparkling wine and they bring me a bottle that wasn’t at the good temperature
Very noisy place
Good food, great service! Super loud though.
