Sushi was excellent. Our waiter was very helpful
Did not like the table seating. The sticky ribs were awesome and the salmon roll was really good. Fantastic service and dessert was delish! The yellow tail bop was ok.
We go to Morimoto's at least once a year and we always order the Omakase! We've never been disappointed with the food.
I’ve been a fan of Chef Morimoto since his debut on the original Japanese Iron Chef show and had high expectations. Those expectations were met and exceeded. The greeting hostess was gracious, warm and friendly. Our superb wait-staff person Chris elevated our dining experience with his excellent recommendations, professionalism, and wit and humor that reflected a depth and breadth of knowledge of food and pairings that can only be gained by someone who has a sincere commitment, dedication and enjoyment of their chosen profession. Everything we ordered showed a thoughtfulness and skill in their execution and presentation and, most importantly, tasted as good as it looked. The interior design reflected simplicity, elegance and warmth. We were warned by good friends that it could get quite loud so we were prepared for the rising noise level as more customers arrived, though for some I could see this being more of an issue than it was for us. There is no doubt that we will be back!
Food was excellent. Our service- server- could of been better. Drink order was slow. Didnt tell me about the menu until I asked. Then his shift was over half way and someone else took over.
So glad we came here for lunch on our trip to Napa.
Ammmaaazzzzing food experience and great ambiance. The lunch menu had great deals and the drinks were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh! Our waiter was very knowledgable with any questions we had about anything on the menu. The maitre'd was very attentive to us and came around a few times asking if we need anything. I don't know what a dinner experience would be like, but we would highly recommend coming here for lunch.
Service & food were excellent. This is our 2nd visit to Morimoto Napa and I don't remember it being SO LOUD!! I could barely have a conversation with my wife sitting right across me.
Nice ambiance. Food was overpriced. Great service
We had their special 8-course menu and it was OK. For a$450 tab for two people, I expected to be in awe of the dishes. That was not the case. You are paying for prime Napa location.
Food and service was great
Amazing food and amazing service! I only wish the music was quieter because at times I felt as if I were raising my voice to the person sitting across from me. The tables meant for two people are also very close together. Nonetheless, the appetizers and our meals were exceptional.
Food was great, service took forever. Plan for 2+ hours.
The service was mediocre to say the least. I expect places like this to have more professional service. The food was just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to try it and I won't be trying it again.
Excellent food and nice presentation. Very lively on weekend.
I have been to morimotos numerous times and used to be my favorite restaurant in the napa valley. However, recently it feels outdated. Drinks were subpar and food was overpriced for what it was. I was honestly disappointed. Much rather spend much less and eat at a place like Bottega where food is quality and much less expensive.
Always the freshest fish. Most imaginative dishes. Miso tofu an umami bomb.
Excellent quality always,
Great dinner with 3 of my friends. I had been to the Waikiki location and had the omakase dinner but one of my friends were vegan and the other doesn't eat a ton of fish so we opted to do ala carte. Definitely recommend the sticky ribs and the giant bowls of miso soup to start. The pork belly congee was more pork belly than congee. The buribop bowls were fabulous and prepared tableside where I got to watch them sear my yellowtail on the hot stone pot. Wonderful touch. Freshest veggies ever like broccolini and service was top notch and fun as well. Chefs special of sushi is great quality and good but it's more on the traditional side.
Once again it was above our expectations. Always love the rock shrimp! We’ll be back on our next visit to Napa.
We have dined here multiple times, both lunch and dinner. We dine out frequently, and are pretty critical. Honestly, Morimoto should be a Michelin 3 star restaurant in our opinion. Of course, then it might be too expensive for us (joke here). Presentation is awesome, fish is always very fresh and well presented. Servers are knowledgeable and attentive. There are many great restaurants in the Napa Valley, but in our opinion, it would be a mistake to not dine at Morimoto's if visiting the valley.
While the meal was very good, this is a shout out to our server Rosa. We had the privilege of having dinner here with a good friend from Tokyo who happens to be the founder of Food Tours Tokyo. She had a lot of questions not only about the food but about wine and Rosa was poised, knowledgeable, and patient. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Among the winners are the Oyster Foie Gras, Grilled Kama, and Kakuni (this was excellent). The Rock Shrimp Tempura was ok but not really worth writing home about. The A5 Wagyu is a must try even if you only order 3 oz. We also went through several sushi options and it was interesting to hear a Tokyo foodies take on how it could be served better. Overall, this is a must try restaurant. But do be prepared to put a dent on your credit card.
We loved everything we ordered. The food was delicious, creative and artfully presented. Great for a special occasion!
It wasn’t quiet but it was fun to see what others were having and the crowd was lively - the atmosphere was festive.
Very disappointed. Presentation was amazing but flavors were weak, bland and mismatched. Service was spotty. Varied from attentive to non existent
World class. Exceptionally tasty. I went with a 15 piece chef tasing complimented by an excellent saki.
Beautiful delicious food gorgeous ambiance a must try if you are in Napa!
Ok but extremely noisy and prawn tempura was inedible and so disappointing . Very sweet and tough ! Fish was lovely but sushi ok nothing special
Food overall was slightly above average. The steak and grilled octopus was very tasty and well prepared . The crispy whole fish was dry and overpowered with a Saracha hot sauce and the Morimoto sashimi was unrecognizable as sashimi. The best dish was the chocolate ice cream bomb which was sublime, tasty and visually memorable .
We expected more from Napa Morimoto given the restaurant's highly touted pedigree.
Beautiful place, excellent food and service. We split one salad, one entree (Black Cod), and two sushi rolls between three people and it was great.
We had a wonderful time the food was great atmosphere was wonderful will definitely eat there again.
Had an early lunch. Not too many people were there at the same time. Server was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. The food was amazing. Service was perfectly timed. I didn't feel like I was waiting on anything. The next plate came out right after I had finished the one before it. A wonderful place I recommend to everyone.
Extremely disappointed with our experience here. Quality of food and service was abysmal, and for the price point, there is no excuse for such poor execution. Our hot entrees were served cold, sushi was sloppily displayed, the black cod-a signature dish-was effectively submerged in a miso dressing, and our drinks were brought after our entrees came. Restaurant runs like a factory without any attention or care to detail. If you're looking for a good meal in Napa, I would not come here.
Came here to celebrate my wifes birthday and was not disappointed. Every part of fine dining was on point the food was more than what we expected. Words cannot express our satisfaction of this restaurant.
The absolute best sushi I’ve ever had. So sad this is in Napa and I’m on the east coast
Everyone else’s review was pretty close. Food is good lots of hopes. Only thing was the service. Too slow. We were terribly waiting for everything to waters, drinks, apps, main.
It was wonderful. Service was amazing. It was a little too loud, but the ambiance was fantastic.
If you're in Napa and you miss Morimoto's, you've made a mistake. The tasting menu is spectacular, the service impeccable, and after a day of wineries and driving, a sit down meal at this world-famous chef's restaurant is exactly what is called for.
The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. However portions were very small for the cost. Usually my husband and I share entrees and add more starters, but one entree was not even adequate for one. At $34.00
Great, interesting food - wagyu beef carpaccio was amazing!
Bad service. Food and beverages missed. Orders delivered not in sequence. Poor attention to detail. Will not return let alone bring friends / clients here
Had the okasame tasting... loved Everything
Stylish and romantic
