Morimoto's contemporary Japanese menu infuses traditional dishes with Western ingredients and preparation techniques. His seasonal and ever-changing selection of raw fish preparations will feature the freshest seafood available as well as locally grown fruits and vegetables from supporting farmers. Morimoto's signature offerings include Toro Tartare, presented in a small tray with condiments including crème fraîche, wasabi, avocado, nori paste, chives, crispy rice, and dashi-soy. Tuna Pizza made with raw tuna, anchovy aioli, and jalapeno; Morimoto Sashimi, a terrine of seared Toro, smoked salmon, barbequed eel, tuna and Hamachi served with five different sauces in pipettes.

The menu had other foods, but for those of us who appreciate excellent fish and Japanese inspired flavors, this is it.

We asked for a quieter part of the restaurant and were accommodated. The sushi was fantastic and the wait staff was wonderful.

Could barely hold a conversation at our table. Most of our food came out before the bottle of wine which was a bummer.

Waiting up to 10min after our reservation time, even when people arriving after us were seated first, set the wrong tone from the start. Although we requested outdoor seating, we were placed at the only outdoor table not under covered ceiling and without any heaters on a cold night. After several attempts, a heater was brought to our table but did little to warm the party. The food was fine but incredibly overpriced. Seems like the restaurant relies on name alone for its value when the food was just…fine. We wouldn’t return on a repeat visit to Napa.

Nice restaurant but very loud atmosphere. Tried the wagyu gyozas…liked the presentation and they were tasty. Didn’t realize they were fried but it was good. Had the Easter special pacific bass…presented nice but overall could’ve been a little more tastier and tender. The oxtail was very unique and presented well…super tender and flavorful. Had the s’mores dessert….was good but not extraordinary. Didn’t get a candle like other tables for my birthday even though I was wished a happy birthday.
