We had edemame, sashimi, duck confit fried rice and whitefish carpaccio, our friends the pork chop. GreAt food! I sure miss this place 💔
So tasty will definitely be back! Worth the drive from Sacramento
Morimoto Napa certainly lives up to the hype. The food was outstanding. We had an incident with the diner seated next to us who decided he didn’t want to social distance but the staff handled him well and comped our dessert. I would certainly eat here again.
Sashimi chef selection fish all tasted the same (except Saba). Sake, maguro, 2 types of saba, tako, flounder, tai. No taste to the fish and texture were all the same.
Service wise - had to call 3x for a waiter to give ginger, each one questioning why we wanted ginger with our sashimi. Waiter was nice, but was busy.
Entrees were good - braised pork was succulent and melted in your mouth.
Environment and service is good. But, the food quality is a bit disappointed. As a Japanese Restaurant, the Sashimi quality is not up to the standard. Obviously, the Sashimi has been fridge for a longer than usual time period, that all the freshness and origin fish freshness flavors was gone.
The worst part was fish scale was found on 2 pieces of Sashimi, which should not happen to any "Japanese Restaurant" at all.
Covid measures in place. Felt safe. Food impeccable as always. Menu has changed. Old favorites like toro tartare sadly no longer on menu. Great cocktails and sake. Overall very pleased with lunch.
Morimoto’s is a modern Japanese restaurant in an idyllic setting. Right on the water, it sets the mood.
The service team was attentive and informative. The appetizers were beautifully presented and delicious. We had a full sushi dinner (chefs combination). It was fresh and expertly prepared. The cocktails were amazing. The dessert (s’mores) is worth driving an hour to get. Highly recommended.
This restaurant does not disappoint ! Amgahd is generous and first class manager who always shares new things the chef has been making. It is delightful to eyes the food creations and delicious food every time. Go here if you like first class dining!
It was very nice and worth the price. I enjoy myself every time I go.
Great experience! Mary Anne and Andrew were incredible. Hospitality second to none and the food was amazing. Will be back.
Awesome food and superb service. I highly recommend!
my family & i had the perfect evening celebrating my husband’s birthday. our waiter, Adrian was great! he was super helpful in choosing the best saké
& very attentive. our meal was outstanding, as well as our deserts.
another great experience at Morimoto!
The food was good but limited menu, we went for a special occasion and many things that we wanted to try wasn’t available.
The staff was curtesy and covid procedures were followed.
We had the sashimi Omakase, which was delightful. The fish tasted fresh.
The fried rice and the cod (perfect combination!)
Finally the s’mores dessert. Which probably had a good amount of caffeine in it because I couldn’t sleep, but it was delicious!
Everything was wonderful. The coat at the end was expensive but I knew that going in. The ONE THING that happened to make this experience a bit underwhelming was when a server, not ours, came by to take our bucket with our sake and sparkling water. Both still had fluids in them and he was walking off with both, including a $90 bottle that still had two very large pours which we had planned to take home. I stopped him and asked if they were empty. He looked sheepishly at me and then shook the contents and looked annoyed then realizing they were definitely not empty. He proceeded to pour the remaining if the contents Into our cups to almost overflowing just to get away. Instead he should have asked if we wanted mire or would like to take the rear home. What a waste! It made me so drunk I couldn’t enjoy the rest of my evening and had a hangover the next day. I didn’t need to drink anymore and would have preferred to take it with us. I feel a bit taken advantage of by this server who probably wouldn’t have preferred to have gotten away with the 1/3 of our bottle!!!
We were seated right away. Everything was appropriately socially distanced- wonderful service. Excellent cuisine!
Amazing food and best sushi ever!
We had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and drinks were fun. We had a wonderful presentation on sake from the ( I assume) manager.
Service is slow. Waiters are not helpful in describing the food.
Maki - average at best.
Sashimi - good quality cuts, but tiny and overpriced.
Whitefish carpaccio - tasty, but nothing special.
Kakuni - very tender, too sweet.
Black code - tender, juicy, too sweet.
Toban Yaki - the only dish that was really interesting.
Bottom line: where is chef Morimoto's hand here? If you are looking for the average Japanese restaurant - this is the right place. If you hope to find dishes designed by one of the best iron-chefs in America - you will be disappointed.
Awesome food and service definitely highly recommended
The service was really good and also the ambience but the good was veryyyyyy disappointed. We were expecting something different, we
Try different things to have a good idea of the food but it was just the same food you can get anywhere. Good experience but definitely never coming back!
Excellent service delicious ramen
We ordered 100$ sashimi plate and the seafood selection was really poor .
No uno, scallops or raw shrimp ...just vanille cheaper fish...
The tacos were vey blend as well
We will not go back
I was very much looking forward to lunching at Morimoto, as I am familiar with the famous chef from Iron Chef. While we were pleasantly greeted by the hostess, the service by our waiter was extremely subpar. He seemed much more interested in the large party of six women and other people that he knew than taking care of our table of two. It was a big disappointment, and I do not plan on revisiting this restaurant when I return to Napa.
Excellent but too pricey
We met friends there and had a terrific meal on the patio. Perfect evening.
very good quality but expensive sushi, ok service. You could find similar quality at a significantly lower price elsewhere in the Bay Area
Drove up to Napa for a nice lunch. Sat outside near the Napa River. We have always been very satisfied with our time at Morimoto’s. Thank you!
Anthony was an amazing server creating a personalized menu for us that was novel and delicious!
The food was good, the waiter good, but the noise level in the interior which was also loud on the patio was obnoxious. Even worse was the lack of hygiene for our table. When we arrived to be seated, we saw a woman wipe the table with one swipe with what looked like a dirty rag. She left the table wet.
I recommend ordering off the menu. Staff was pleasant. However, the pairing of the chef’s selection was under-flattering and over priced for what we received. Overcharged for a mediocre meal with less courses.
What a disappointment. The restaurant was packed despite COVID restrictions. We ordered sake and of the limited list, there was only 1 good one ($195 which was so highly marked up). Even that was ruined because the sake glasses had such bad smells. They must have been wiped down with dirty rags that left the moldy smell in the glasses. Food was decent at best and definitely not the best sushi. We had to scream to hear one another because the restaurant was so loud. We were there for a special birthday celebration and it was really not enjoyable at all.
Exceptional food and great service. Enjoyed sitting outside too.
The food, service, and outdoor patio were amazing. We look forward to coming back on our next visit to Napa.
OMG, so amazing! Everything about this dining experience was superb!! GO!!!
Great atmosphere and we needed it in this times but the food from start to end not impressing at all.
Trendy but you can find better sushi at more authentic Japanese restaurants
We were greeted immediately and seated quickly. The wait staff was very efficient and knowledgable about the dishes. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating. The hamachi tuna tacos were fabulous. The servings were substantial. I wish we would have shared the salads, as suggested! They were huge! It is costly.
Great time as always... Sat on the patio.
You can not beat great friends with delicious food!
