Morimoto - Napa
The waiter was nice but just missed one thing after another. All courses were delivered out of order e.g. my mum's soup came after her chef's sashimi collection.
My ramen soup was bland as was the Missi soup.
I asked the waiter to spice up my ramen soup and to deliver a Yuzu boost at the side - neither happened.
Wine was order e and or took like 15 min to get it...
Overall the seafood was really good quality, but the service was subpar for a former iron chef and the price point.
Other courses like the ramen was mediocre.
Fun atmosphere with amazing food. Absolutely recommend.
For lunch splurge on the King Crab, then the Set Lunch of your choice!!
One of the best dining experience ever!!! The presentation was excellent, the dishes were very tasteful, and the servers were knowledgeable and attentive. 5 stars indeed!
Fun atmosphere with amazing food, wI'll definitely be visiting again.
I know this couldn't really be helped but we checked in 15 minutes earlier than our 7 pm reservation and was not seated until 7:30 pm.
When we were seated we were seated towards the back near the cashier or kitchen door.
It would've been better if were seated in a nicer area, given the inconvenience.
Overall service and food was very good though.
My husband and I had the Omakase and my son had potstickers and tempura shrimp roll.
Also, I had a special request of my husbands bday but that was forgotten also.
Maybe because it was a busy weekend. But I think these details really can't be missed.
Great food!! Very delicious and great presentation
Sit at the bar - they will take care of you!!
Morimoto was good but we found ourselves questioning the value and felt that it did not compare favorably to other recent chef’s tasting menu experiences.
Everything was fantastic from food to waiter. However the front checking staff were disorganized big time
Our experience is colored by the outstanding service by Emir, a gentleman we've had the pleasure of meeting several times. We always have fun, enjoy the food and feel pampered.
Great food as always from MORIMOTO
We had a great time and Morimoto is very nice but it seems to me that the food quality is not up to par with what they are charging us. Other than that excellent service!
Exceptional staff. The only reasons for the lower ratings are due to the place being so huge (many tables, lots of noise, rarely saw our own waitress), and the pairing menu was subpar for a Michelin Star restaurant. They rotate their pairing menu regularly, and it was poorly done - we had to actually send one of the pairings back because it absolutely did not go with the food). The place is so busy that the food would arrive at different times from the pairings; once we had to wait for over 5 minutes of not being able to touch our food because the pairings hadn’t arrived - the timing was all over the map the whole evening. The last course was a heavy plate of 3 meats.. not what I’d expect for a $570 meal for two.
Michelin star food with Michelin star service. This is hands down my all time favorite restaurant.
The food was off the hook! Service was over the top. Five stares in every way
Excellent as usual. My only nit pick is that it does get a little loud, hard to carry on a conversation sometimes with the person you are dining with. And sometimes hard to hear the server.
3er time at Morimoto, always a good experience
Acoustics are terrible. Very hard to hear anyone around you including wait staff. Something could be easily be done but apparently isn’t important to owners
We did a "day before Valentine's Day" dinner at Morimoto's. It was our first visit to the the restaurant but it most certainly will not be our last. The evening was near perfect. Our service was attentive without be hovering, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We chose to do the chef's menu, a seven course meal that include two of the cold appetizers, two warm appetizers, two main entrees and dessert. This was as close to a perfect dinner as we have ever experienced.
Everything is priced about 50% -60% higher than other quality Japanese restaurants (Miso soup $14, Edamame $10). The Nigiri is priced comparable to other restaurants ($8/order) the only problem is an order is "one" piece, not "two".
The service was good so we left a 30%+ tip.
Great food and great service. One of our favorite places to go can’t wait for our next visit.
Wonderful food, wine and service! Loved my black cod lunch special. Excellent wines by the glass. Sushi is of the highest quality.
This is our second time in Morimoto!
We consider this place a gem. We were here here last year for our elopement/ wedding dinner.
We love it here so we had to come here again. I guess we are making Morimoto a tradition.
This time it’s more special! - From the lovely host who greeted us for our Anniversary, to our server who served us champagne the moment we sat down and greeted us as well. And the best part- the food experience: from the appetizer - entree- dessert -top notch! And unforgettable.
We had - rock shrimp tempura, braised black cod, SRF wagyu short rib (Both melts in your mouth) and dessert! - Fiery salted caramel chocolate tart. (The B151 ) was overpowering. Be ready! 😊 be sure you eat it with all the elements!
Next time, we are definitely trying the Morimoto omakase!
The food was great but the staff acted as if they couldn't wait to get us out of there. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration dinner but the poor ambience ruined that.
We decided on an early Valentines dinner for two. Great food, attentive service and lovely atmosphere.
Amazing!! Great food and awesome service!! We will definitely be coming back!!
This was our first time dining here and we've heard so many positive reviews about this place. We were definitely in for a treat! The staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, gave us amazing service and had a great sense of humor! The food was beyond our expectations, every dish was picture perfect when presented and the flavors were mind blowing! We will definitely be back!
I brought my boyfriends for the first time, my 2nd or 3rd time. Justin was our server; Very knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the quality of the food! We had a great time and we’ll be back! Thank you!
Excellent service and great food
Weekday lunch. Hard surfaces and very loud music made it impossible for my dining companion and I to speak and hear one another across a small table. Server was more than accommodating in recognizing this and moving us to a corner with more fabrics to soften the sound level. Note there were only a handful of tables filled. Acoustics are terrible. A sound engineer would be a good next step.
Waitstaff was amazing.
Food was ok. Timing was off. My friend is gluten intolerant and requested GF, yet her meal was served with a sauce poured table side - yep - not gluten free. Poured on her dish before she could object or ask. They offered to remake her meal, but she opted to deal with it and hope for the best. She’s intolerant not celiac. Honest mistake but for a high end establishment it’s a bit annoying especially when the guest made it clear at the start.
My food was ok, I guess I expected more wow than I felt. I’d go back just for the service and do small plates and sushi with drinks.
Too loud for a working lunch with a client, not spectacular enough for a special client or occasion. Great for drinks and shared plates
Booked, sent a message about patio seating because i have a dog with me and it wasn't until i showed up that i realized there was no tables setup outside. waiter didnt seem to care either so i had to look for a dinning spot elsewhere and while i talked to them inside, my dog had to wait outside tied to a post, never again. yes I've been there before and i was disappointed, on top of that they did sent me a notification from Open table saying that i did not show up
Food was amazing, wait staff were fantastic. Really great experience! If you’re unsure, definitely get what the servers recommend.
It was fabulous!
Our server #17/1 was phenomenal. So friendly, helpful, accommodating. Food was delicious. My only complaint was the hostess. I had put in my notes I wanted the table by the back window since we had an infant with us. When she took us to a different table we asked for the table we had requested. She refused. The table sat vacant for over an hour and then only 3 ppl sat there. We were a party of 4 plus infant. Other than that it was a pleasant experience. Our server more than made up for the hostesses poor attitude.
Alex was an amazing server for us. Very professional and attentive while having a busy night at the restaurant. Thank you Alex
Sushi and sashimi were fabulous.
Had great service. We had ordered tuna tacos but they served us hachimi tacos. It happens but they comped both, plus also a wine glass (although they also served food in wrong order). But the waitress was so friendly and sweet that we didn’t mind.
The surf and turf was very disappointing, esp for a Morimoto. Both the lobster and the steak were extremely poor.
Tacos were both great.
Overall: doesn’t live up to the New York restaurant, where we have been twice, but, if you like sushi, sashimi and tacos, it’s worth going.
Food was good. Service amazing. Major disappointment was were we were seated. Feel we were placed in corner due to using Open Table to make our reservations.
Excellent food, excellent service and a wonderful journey for all of your senses. Restaurant was noisy so it was hard to hear our server explain the dishes we ordered or the answers to questions about the menu. It’s expensive so I wouldn’t consider it a great value, more of a special occasion meal, but the food is amazing. Everything we ordered came to us promptly and looked beautiful.
