Morimoto - Napa
Our waiter was excellent
The food was fantastic!
No surprises at all on the quality — always fantastic . Severs were beyond outstanding
Delicious food and it was worth the money, especially for lunch. If you go with someone else or as a group, would recommend sharing, to try as many items as possible. Favorite was the Tuna Pizza and the Cheesecake soufflé
We visited Sat night. We had the tasting menu and sake pairing. The food and sake were fantastic. The service was also excellent. We will definitely return!
Place was great. Food was ok. Not worth the price
Excellent sticky ribs, the fish Bopu...incredible, the Japanese beef, perfect. The pork dumplings (don’t order it); disappointing....
Morimotos never disappoints. Always outstanding.
Amazing service, food and ambiance.
Great food. Great service! One of our favorite places to eat when we visit.
I arrived for an early meal. The restaurant was empty. They wanted me to sit in one small table for 2. I said no.
Then another one. I said no. Then asked to sit at a 4 top. A new manager who I haven’t met before in my 8 years of dining there tried to tell me that they were saving the table for a larger party. Again, it was Tuesday and the restaurant was EMPTY. As I was wearing a sling I said I didn’t want to sit in a cramped table where I might hit my arm. He rolled his eyes and said they wouldn’t hit me (Wtf... really guy. Your restaurant is empty on a Tuesday in January and you are giving a local who consistently dines there a hard time why!??)... anyway. He lets us sit at the four top. Our waitress is LOVELY. Her service is impeccable. Only ding really is for the jerky manager. Who proceeded to seat a number of other parties of 2 at other 4 tops. Thanks for making my birthday special!
Everything was amazing!
It was my 50 th Birthday
This is our 5th time to Morimoto and we keep coming back for the value of the great quality of food. Our staples are always the tempura shrimp (super flavorful) and the pork chop (juicy, tender, and HUGE as it’s a double boned pork chop). On this trip they again did not disappoint. This time we added the kakuni, duck meatball ramen, and the wagyu short rib two ways.
Kakuni - if the pork belly on this dish was supposed to resemble the dry shredded meat often added to congee, they achieved that. However, when I hear pork belly I assume succulent and this was not that. Personally would not order again.
Duck Ramen - this was a lighter and flavorful ramen and my husband loved it on a cold January night. I think I’m more of a traditionalist and like the heavy soul filling flavor of a traditional ramen.
Wagyu short-rib 2 ways - both interesting, moist and flavorful. Good dish but preferred the pork chop over this dish.
We also had a glass of pappy as this is one of the few places that will carry it. As expected they have different prices for the different ages. They start out with a 10 year for ~$45 a glass. We went for the 12 year for ~ $62 a glass. Delicious, well worth it.
We also had the sorbet trio which was okay. Good palette cleanser but felt the sorbet was a bit crumbly, not smooth.
The piece of this experience that disappointed us was our service. First our silverware was missing on almost every round and we had to flag someone down so we could eat our food. Our entrees arrived before we had finished our appetizers, this was probably because the kitchen wasn’t expecting the time we had to wait for silverware... Lastly, we are usually quick to ask for the check, but she interrupted us in the middle of us eating our entree to ask if she should bring the check... and then again right when we were served dessert. I thought maybe they were changing shifts, but as we left, she was just standing there...super odd...
good food but we couldn’t hear each other talk
We’d heard good things about Morimoto, but were a little underwhelmed. Food was mostly very nice - though I felt the tempura batter could have been lighter / less greasy and the accompanying yoghurt based dip was overly sweet for me. What was a bit disappointing was the ambience - unused outside tables were left all anyhow, which looked messy and detracted from the view from our table, and the large interior windows between our part of the re. Overall good but certainly not great.
The cod and sushi was awesome. My husband’s steak flat bread was too salty. Service was great and ambiance was great.
Food was not up to par for the price. Scallops too salty, pork belly too hard and cold. We did omakase for my husband’s birthday dinner and were expecting incredible food but this disappointed much to our dismay :/
Noise level was too high.
Expectations for the food were higher based on our visit to Morimoto Austin.
Great food even better service!! I am definitely coming back with my wife.
Excellent lunch. The ribs were perfect - falling right off the bone - and seasoned just right. Every other dish was equally well done. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed everything; edamame, ribs x2 (only 3 per order), sushi rolls (spicy salmon 6pc & shrimp tempura 6pc) & dessert cheesecake. All were delicious. Don’t be afraid to order extra!
It was New Year’s Eve and my significant other and I had the best time and it was his first time
Once one of our favorite restaurants their NYE omakase option prices $200 per person was soo boring uninspired and absolutely not worth the premium price. Be warned they are now catering to tourists vs discerning sushi lovers. Total waste of time and money.
New Year’s Eve
Another great New Years' dinner at Morimoto. Great Japanese food.
Excellent tasting food and the cocktail were great. Forgot name of my cocktail, but was the one with a large fresh raw cucumber slice. The sushi California roll is the best I've tasted in a dozen sushi restaurants that I frequent. Must be special ingredient added or technique.
We had a reservation for lunch at 2:00. After we sat waiting for over 30 minutes for a server to approach, we were told to order quickly because they are closing the kitchen. Pretty disappointing experience since we were celebrating a very special birthday. And, even if we had had a better experience, the sushi was just average and for the prices they charge it really wasn’t worth it. Won’t be back
Vale la pena probar TODO!
Este Morimoto es excepcional en cuanto a calidad y variedad de alimentos, los felicito, especialmente al Iron Chef: MORIMOTO!!
The sushi rolls and miso were bery good. Wygo was not to my liking and overpriced in my opinion. The noise level was extremely loud. The open “bull pen” style of dining was not conducive to conversation while dining. Very disappointing and Very impersonal. Have been a fan of morimoto’s cooking style since the original iron chef so it was a Bucket list item checked off. But it was definitely a One and done.
Creative and dependably good and interesting cuisine and fresh sashimi.
Always excellent service and food with premium ingredients!
Get the sake flight. We were able to sample Morimoto's sake. Delicious!
We noted in our reservation that we are celebrating birthdays. As we checked in with the hostess, we told them we were celebrating my husband’s and daughter’s birthdays. We were expecting candles on our desserts, but were disappointed as they weren’t prepared.
In general, the service was not what we had come to accustomed to with the restaurant in the past. Service was very slow. We had to wait a long time at least 10 minutes after we had made our decision. We had to flag down another server who our waiter was. Then, our waiter showed up. Very disappointed. Will need to rethink whether to continue patronize the restaurant at this location.
Amazing!!! That’s all I can say besides I will definitely be back!
I would say it's not worth it for the food. The food was decent overall but nothing to go out of your way for.
The timing for our omakase dishes were spaced too long apart and left us twiddling with our thumbs and out of conversation. The food was excellent and the dessert was out of this world.
If you are adventurous and looking for a dining experience like no other, then I recommend the 8 course dinner. My wife and I shared one order and added an appetizer. It was great!
