Amazing celebratory dinner with the family! Our host, Oman, was perfect! His wine suggestions were fabulous and he anticipated our every need. He even took a family photo for us which we appreciated immensely💕 Definitely the best host we have ever had at Morimoto!! They better hold on tight to this one because service like that is a hot commodity.
Until next time…Cheers!
Morimoto never disappoints. Food is always delicious. We always have a great experience when dining at Morimoto. Looking forward to the next visit.
Our experience was wonderful! Every single dish we ordered was delicious (and we ordered a lot 😂)! We were a little overwhelmed with the big menu and where to start but our waiter Justin was phenomenal and steered us in all the right directions! Can’t wait to go back!
Edamame, softshell crab roll, kappa maki, tamago, tuna and the Hill Family Albarino. This is a high end restaurant and you get what you pay for. We come back here every time we are in town.
Wonderful restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. So many interesting combinations. Try the ahi tuna pizza ,and the pork belly rice dish. To die for. And Amir is an excellent, fun, and delightful waiter.
The quality of the food was great. The restaurant was almost empty, would not accommodate a later reservation than 7:45 PM. Our waitress was not good at all, sat us at broken table that wobbled. When she brought the drink it slid down the table and less than 5 min. later completely slid off the table. Spilled all over my husbands clothes, booth and floor. We had to clean it up without the servers help or apology. She also didn’t come to check on us for the most part. The bus boy and the runner helped and tried to stabilize the table. We spent over $300 and the service was horrible.
The sushi is fresh but ordinary. The sashimi is excellent. Compare to other locations, the menu is not as board as others.
the food was ok
the tamarind ribs were too sour. not sure if it was meant to be this way. The duck fat fried rice was definitely way too salty. I have never heard of salted duck fat before but i assume the chef threw in more salt on top of that. we don't waste food so we still ate it all but with alot of water. thank you for comping the dish. the katuni and cod fish were probably the favorites as well as the coconut mousse ganache dessert at the end. Striploin steak was average in taste. Service was decent except no utensils were present at the table we were seated and had to ask for chopsticks when the katuni arrived.
We have been coming here for many years - we come to Napa once a year and always visit MORIMOTO. This will likely not be the case going forward. The decor of the restaurant has not changed, but the feel of the experience is not what it used to be.
Food was great! This is the 3rd time there. The 2 previous visits we had the tasting menu which we enjoyed and wanted to do again. Since they were not offering the tasting menu we sort of made up our own. We ordered a few appetizers, sushi and an entrée. Which was way too much food for the 2 of us. But we some how managed to eat it all.
Highly recommend. It is pricey, but inline with top foodie restaurants. Only complaint is the room is quite loud. They need to add some acoustic padding or something. It was very difficult to have a conversation sitting across from each other.
Our third visit to Morimotos, and each time we’ve had the chefs choice sequence of dishes. We had a great selection of seafood and meat dishes and all were excellent.
Always a favorite place to eat while on a weekend getaway. Great Customer service, Highly recommend this place to everyone. Top quality food always.
I loved the food and the service was excellent. I would definitely come back
As usual the food was excellent and the presentation was simply superb. Somewhat noisy at lunch time. Great wine list. A bit expensive but well worthed
Great meal with our broker! Never disappointed 😊
Food was amazing! Full of complex and delicate flavors that have you savoring every bite for a few seconds longer than normal.
Wonderful service with excellent recommendations. Food was great!
Thoughtful enterprise, detailed presentation, great staff. Very cool restaurant! Macha Cake rocks, really rocks!
Fantastic meal! The ishi Yaki buri bop was delicious, as was the tempura shrimp. The topper was the matcha cake - best dessert ever!
The food was outstanding. The service was impeccable. The only glitch was on arrival we had to wait for our table although when we entered the dinning room there were tables available. A minor flaw. The wait staff in particular was attentive and friendly. They explained the dishes thoroughly and made our experience entertaining and fun.
Great food, service, and ambience. This is one of my go-to places for great food.
This place is always a good experience. If you haven’t visited, do it. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect in a summer day if you can sit on the patio. Worth every penny.
The food was top-notch in all aspects except one. The Duck Confit Fried Rice had a slightly bitter taste. I suspect the garlic may have been burned. The duck confit flavor was spot on though.
The service needs improvement. We were neglected pretty much from the time our waiter took our order. After the hard-working runner delivered our dishes, our waiter never stopped by to ask if everything was to our liking or if we needed anything else. Then he brought the check before we had finished our last course without even asking if we wanted dessert or coffee or anything else. The table across from us had to go fetch their own wine from the wine bucket and pour themselves more.
These 2 exceptions prevented me from giving you a 5 rating overall.
Sat us outside in the alley felt like server disappeared and forgot about us few times. Asked for few items without egg but came with anyways. We eat out a lot and know what good service is, we did not receive that at morimoto. Also it seemed like there was some special treatment going on to regulars and we felt out of place. Weird vibes. Will not go back.
Great experience and high quality food. The S'Mores desert is phenomenal and would go back just for this in the future.
Compared to previous experiences here it was disappointing. It was so hot inside we were all sweating while sitting at our table. We asked if the ac could be turned on and it was but they had to huge doors to the outside open so it was not making a difference. Our servers were very pleasant though.
Our overall experience was wonderful. The food... Oh my goodness. Everything is delicious and the portions are generous.
The food was great and our service was quick. The cod and rock shrimp were particularly delicious. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try and will definitely be going back.
this is third Morimoto i have visited. in truth, this one isn't in the same level as the one in Maui. service was uneven, the rest room door handle was broken, and the servers weren't very attentive. Food was pretty ok, but overall while this was an adequate restaurant wasn't anything special
Enjoyed the ambiance. Our server was great, made appreciated efforts to accommodate dietary differences at our table of 5. Food was unimpressive. Chicken was dry, pork w Kim chi was too salty. Hamachi tacos were amazing. Would like to return for non-meat dishes.
They were out of Morimoto Sake, except the most expense at $16/3oz. How can a Japanese restaurant be out of Sake? They were also out of a wine by the glass that we ordered. Waiter was pleasant and made a good wine selection, but made mistakes on our order. He did take off the Bill a drink that my son ordered and did not like, to his credit. The Calamari salad was excellent and well portioned. This is about the best that I can say about Morimoto Napa. For the most, food is over priced.
Many previous menu items not available due to reopening indoor dining recently.
My cousin and I ate here for a special occasion. We did not end up getting a table we had wanted. The staff was friendly. I had the pork chops—it was huge. I was not a fan of the sauce. I did enjoy the wasabi shrimp appetizer. No special treat was given for my special occasion. Free parking at a nearby garage.
I was hoping for something outstanding. Food was OK. Sashimi was not very good. Desserts were amazing.
The sushi and sashimi are always top notch. The service was just fine. I'll be happy to see the restaurant full again once the Covid restrictions are lifted.
Enjoyed a nice time out celebrating Danny’s 30th birthday. Our service didn’t introduce himself and didn’t know what the purée was on the pork chop dish. The tables were also a little stick to the touch. Other than that, everything was great.
Love the service and food, thank you for making our lunch memorable. We always enjoy coming back. Outdoor dining is perfect!
Outstanding sashimi and the Tuna Tacos are great.
