Morimoto - Napa
Amazing food prepared perfectly. A bit loud but other than that a great meal
Dinner was great and delicious as always. Our server Giselle was very attentive and provided great recommendations. Service & the food were exceptional.
The food was not as great as it’s made out to be. One meal came out and then we waited 45 minutes for everyone else’s food. It was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. We couldn’t wait to leave. It’s very hyped up. The food wasn’t really that great. It was a very disappointing experience.
This restaurant did not disappoint!! From appetizer to dessert, the tastes and presentation were flawless. The only downside to me was the noise level - very loud. But, everything else was exceptional.
Food was ok. The noise level was OVERWHELMING! Sounded like a middle school lunch room after 200% of normal sugar intake. Interior design should be redone to reduce noise.
I had the Omakase menu. If you are a casual Japanese food lover, this place and menu will do.
In the Omakase menu, it served 5 pcs of sushi. Base on the quality of the sushi I had, the quality of sushi is not any better than other Sushi restaurant. However, some of fusion style Japanese dishes such/t as Negi Toro, Amber Jack dishes and the desert was superb. But Chawamushi was over-cooked and sushi was so-so. I recommend that you go in and have some appetizers and rolls.
Our experience was great from the moment we walked in until we left 41/2 hours later.
We celebrated a friend for her birthday lunch. Our waiter, Amir, was outstanding, personable and so professional. Such a treat to receive such outstanding service. The food was very delicious and palat pleasingly plated. I savored my Caesar/Ahi salad, so did one friend who ordered the rock shrimp, and the second friend who ordered different pieces of sushi. The ambiance was relaxing and visually pleasing, especially from the patio. I will be back this coming week to take another friend for lunch. I definitely would recommend this restaurant.
Sat at the cocktail bar and was treated exceptionally by the bartender. She was so knowledgeable regarding the menu. The food was fantastic. The tofu in the miso soup was phenomenal—light like a cloud. I’ve never tasted anything like it.
Pricy with small portions and small/ basic sushi menu. Overall food was really good though.
It has good sushi and a large selection of sake. This is already worth the 3stars. Another star is for how attentive the service staff was, and how our chef prepared our sushi Omakase. However, my partner had to wait for her rolls while I was already being served. Additionally I did not like seeing the other two older sushi chefs yawning and look uninterested.
It’s not an intimate sushi tasting at Omakase. It can never be. But it is good authentic Japanese food restaurant with many different options. The variety in meals and the vast selection of drinks makes this better than an average restaurant.
This day we ate inside as it was just a bit chilly outside where we usually like to sit. The staff are always courteous and responsive to our questions and requests. We cannot go to any Morimoto restaurant with ordering the Hamachi Tartare. It is an amazing dish with all the testes and textures pleasing to our palates. We also had nigiri sushi and the rock shrimp appetizer (more of our favorite flavors). You can’t go wrong there, though it was a tad noisy inside this time.
We try never to miss a chance at Morimoto: Napa, Las Vegas or Maui when we are close to those venues.
Very cool restaurant with beautiful art and design elements. Fantastic food and drinks. Buzzy and full of beautiful people.
To review this restaurant I am including a copy of an email which was sent to the manager:
My party of 3 dined at Morimoto Napa last night. We are on a very special girl's trip with myself from Phoenix, my sister from Illinois and my daughter who lives in London. We rarely get together and have been working on details -especially restaurants- for months. We were all so happy to snag a reservation at Morimoto and expected this "splash out" to be the highlight of our trip. We have dined at many fine restaurants all over the world and had high expectations for our experience. However, it was evident from the start that we were on shaky ground.
We were seated promptly at 7:30 and were presented with menus. Our server (I wish we would have gotten his name) made a brief stop and told us he would return to take our drink orders. We sat waiting for at least 15 minutes for him to come back. Totally unacceptable to leave guests with nothing. Finally our drinks arrived and we told our server we wished to have the Omakase dinner. I told him that we would most likely want some assistance in choosing a wine after we finished our cocktails.
The Omakase started out great. After about the third course things went steadily downhill. Cocktails were drained and we had to keep eyeing the room to try and get our server's attention. He did manage to assist us with a wine selection. But to our shock when the bottle of Stony Hill Riesling ($75) arrived he opened it and then informed us it was "cellar temperature". This is Napa. Why would a fine restaurant ever pour wine that wasn't the proper temperature? The bottle was taken to be chilled while we sat with no food and glasses of lukewarm Riesling. (We had gone in fully prepared to purchase 2 or 3 bottles of wine with dinner, however that decision was quickly reversed.
Opentable does not allow enough characters to finish. BE AWARE that this restaurant is riding on the coat tails of its founder. Stay Away.
Consistently good food and service. A great place to eat anytime!
Ambience and selection of drinks ate exceptional. Our server did not seem to be knowledgeable about sushi, ingredients used in our food, etc and many of sushi items were "out" despite being Tuesday. Too expensive for the value of food and disappointing for the brand name Morimoto. Everything we ordered were seasoned too strongly and couln't enjoy the ingredients.
Krystal was an amazing server! Food awesome love the spot. I’ll be back!
Omikase was excellent. Wonderful culinary experience in a trendy and bustling environment. You taste everything, all the flavors distinctively by the design in a very good way. I highly recommend.
I love this place!!! Been here 3 times and I haven't had anything in the menu that I did not like. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Tacos, Rock Shrimp, Oysters, Tuna Tartare, Surf N Turf, and the Cheesecake Souffle that is just the best dessert I have ever had.
Uncomfortably loud. None of us could even hear the description of what was being served. We were often waiting on food 20 minutes or more between the Omakase selections. A meal that should have been 2 to 2 1/2 hours took almost 4. Only reason I’m giving a 3 instead of a 1 is because the food was very good.
I really like Morimoto - been to the one in Phili a few times and the one in Napa a few times as well. The service that particular;ar day was not up to the mark. Else the food and value as always was very good.
I had the burger and it was amazing!
Food was good, not great....service was bordering obnoxious. Can’t you sit and enjoy your drink without the wait staff trying to take your order 15 times!!!! The pork chop is the value deal , huge two bone thick. Must have is the tuna pizza skip the wontons. The other portion to the service is the buss staff... on more than one occasion they were pulling food before we were finished, comical. The overall impression of the service was to turn tables and push as many dinners through the pipe. Very loud , not energetic, impossible to hear your table conversation. Go someplace else for a relaxing dinner!
The plate of Crab was amazing and the staff of there to make sure you are having a great time
Our waiter was excellent in helping us craft our perfect small plates and sushi dining experience from the extensive food and saki menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and of the highest quality. Unfortunately there is no thought to noise control in the very open dining room, and because of a very loud party we were unable to hear each other talk through most of the meal and my ears were ringing as we left the restaurant.
Amazing food , ambience, presentation and service.
A lower price point on the sake would have been good.
The accositics of the room make it a little loud so be prepared!
The food at Morimoto never disappoints although it is a bit on the expensive side. The staff are friendly and attentive. The noise level is such that conversation is hard across the table.
This is my go to place for dinner! The service is always exceptional. The servers are very knowledgeable and always make wonderful suggestions. The food is absolutely incredible! Highly recommend
Amazing food, great ambience, and excellent service!!
Always top notch food and service. Amir, our waiter, is the best!
Excellent food and service. Our server recommended a very good wine for our table. We have been to the NYC Morimoto on a couple of occasions and the food quality at Napa was on a party with the NYC restaurant. The Napa restaurant was rather noisy but as the evening progressed it quieted down. We had an early reservation so there were several families celebrating when we arrived.
Told on reservations that’s it’s my daughter’s 18th Birthday. But the server didn’t even make any effort to acknowledge it. Server needs to be more attentive we’re always asking for him from the busboy.
Umm...it's Morimoto, in Napa...duh.
Had to wait 30 minutes after our reservation time to be seated.
It was my husband’s 55th bday celebration! We had a great dinner at the bar; Adam was outstanding!
Great food! Presentation and service. The hamachi tartare (don’t remember the exact name!) was insane. The pork belly congee cannot be missed!
It was truly an amazing experience start to finish!!
Surprised by the very bland and sloppy food. Nothing like the pics online. Noisy, factory-like and expensive for not high quality food.
This morimotos is not the same as orlando one. I was expecting the same type of food and was disappointed.
Overall, the service and food was very good except for the beef on the lunch plate was a little tough but was offered another piece of beef.
