   We wish he had room to try more things on the menu. The wagyu was to kill for and changes the experience for the actual sushi. The peppers make a great palate cleanser, but they also have their own distinct part of the meal. But the crab bao was the sleeper hit

   We stumbled upon booking the 6:00 reservations not knowing we were gonna get a luau show with our dinner at morimoto’s. The dinner here is so well executed, the sashimi was so beautiful and delicious, the wagyu beef carpaccio was flavorful and delicate, we also had the hamachi tacos, pork ribs that a lot of people recommended was delicious, and the black cod was amazing. We would go back for sure, our server was amazing at timing everything for us.

   The service and food was outstanding once again! Our favorites to get are the waygu beef carpaccio, rock shrimp tempura, and chef's combination sushi and sashimi! The smoked old fashioned drink is wonderful, as well as their non alcoholic spritzers. The entrees never disappoint. Our 2 year old loved the pork gyoza, tofu miso, and duck fried rice. The malasadas are a sweet ending to your meal.

    Food was OK. We had ribs, gyoza, and toro tartare for appetizers. The ribs were absolutely amazing. Gyoza were fine. The toro tartare was good to try. I had the chef sampler sushi as a main. It was great! My daughter and dad both ordered a delicious rice bowl for their main and really enjoyed. My mom ordered Angry Chicken for her main and it was dry. Our server was really nice but could have been a bit more attentive. I recommend bringing a sweater if you are eating outside at night. It was windy and we were freezing!

    The ribs are to die for! The sushi was incredible. Salad, awesome. Duck confit fried rice was really good too, fantastic idea. The chocolate globe flaming dessert was really cool, though the banana mousse inside was a little unsatisfying. We enjoyed our meal very much!!

    This was our first visit to Morimoto and I don't think it will be our last. Our dinner was amazing and the view was incredible. Mick, our server was wonderful. He gave great suggestions and was very friendly. We hope to visit again!

    We had a great lunch at Morimoto on Maui. Seven years ago we ate at Morimoto in Waikiki. This was a totally different, more casual concept. It was a different atmosphere....by a pool, kids splashing, bingo game being called, but the same tasty food. We preferred the Waikiki more formal dinner experience, but enjoyed our lunch at the Maui Morimoto restaurant.

    Food was very average, maybe a 3 for a neighborhood restaurant. But given the legacy and the prices, only a 2. No evidence of Morimoto-style quality let alone creativity. Secondary point is ambiance. Decor did not signal Japanese ambitions. Just a poolside restaurant at a (nice) Hawaiian resort. I cannot recommend

    Started the night with complimentary appetizers that were delicious but unfortunately can’t recall the exact names of the dishes. Got the 20 piece nigiri plate between 2 people and it was still almost too much food. Fresh fish and well prepared. Dessert was amazing as well with the coconut mousse, ube cheesecake and chocolate banana ice cream sphere.

    A bit disappointing compared to pre covid times. No omakase, no house made ginger beer, the black cod was over sauced which for me ruins the beautiful delicate fish. The staff was friendly and helpful, greatly appreciated them.

    I booked a standard table. When I arrived the hostess said she had no tables for just 1 person which was confusing as Open Table specifically confirmed a table for 1 with the restaurant. She forced me to the sushi bar which was empty and facing the kitchen. In Hawaii, nobody wants to face a kitchen. The food is fantastic and my server was amazing. Just think the restaurant needs to address the hostess issues with not honouring the reservations that people work hard to get.

    Fine. Nothing special, and certainly not special for the price. Have had better sushi in LA by choosing a random place. Hot plates were better. Oysters were very good. Bao was good. Portion sizes good. If you've never been to Japan or LA/SF/Seattle, this probably would seem like good Japanese food

    We had a late reservation due to availability and we did feel a bit rushed. One assisting server commented that we had appies for dessert and we hadn't even ordered our mains yet. The main server quickly quieted this colleague hence why we felt a bit rushed. Also we ordered and quickly were told the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. The wine we ordered was not the right year so we asked for a different bottle and it was out of stock. Server was great and acknowledged the wine needed to be reviewed for what availability in house.

    WOW! This restaurant is incredible. Sushi was melt in your mouth good and all of the appetizers we got were perfection! They have plenty of options for non fish/non sushi eaters too. A must do in Maui!

    We had an outdoor table which was lovely….if we’d been inside, we would not have enjoyed it as much. The tempura rock shrimp were awesome as was the buribop. The donuts were just okay, not worth the money. Overall a good experience.

    Our server Michael did a great job taking care of us. The menu includes many local non-typical Japanese selections. The pot stickers and tempura shrimp appetizers were amazing and unlike anything we were expecting or have ever tasted before. The edamame was fresh and tasty. The sushi and sashimi selections are typical Japanese fare at typical Tokyo restaurant prices. You only get one small slice of fish and or one piece of sushi instead of two or three for each selection so it adds up very fast. Outdoor seating is much much better than indoors so make sure to request it when you book.
