Disappointing experience, food underwhelming no finesse except for the Local fish salad which was the best thing we ordered.
Cocktails at $19 were forgettable . Nobus food and sake martini is way better! Poor glassware. View was terrible - empty pool chairs, old towels and heaps of used pool drink cups. Noisy trashy pool right by the table, people constantly taking the shortcut through the restaurant. Not high end or special at all. Sushi was below par overpriced. We had 3 diff wait staff , sat with empty glasses never offered a 2nd drink. Furniture tatty and worn food on floor , all in all v messy . no birthday acknowledgment , would not recommend.
Overall a mediocre experience. The bell boys at the
Ocean view. Very quiet. Amazing food. Service was slow and our server forgot about us for 20 minutes.
It was my daughter‘s 14th birthday and we went here for lunch. It’s her favorite place to eat in Maui. I mentioned both to the hostess and to my waiter that it was my daughter‘s birthday. It was completely ignored. The ambience is great and the food is wonderful but I think it’s very rude to ignore a 14-year-old‘s birthday. I left a 10% tip and quite frankly I thought that was generous.
Seated between the check in line and servers station. Very distracting for the entire meal. Food was inconsistent with some choices very good and other very disappointing.
The portions were way to small for the price. Even the dishes call big bites were just two bites. I left there and went to the bar just below the resturant and had a much better meal.
The resturant needs work. If your prices are high at least give us some food.
Fabulous Dinner
Service was a 10 and our Waiter was ver knowledgeable so we took his advice.
Cocktails - House Special Margarita and Pele's Kiss (spicy but wow had to have two)
Appetizer- Carpaccio and Rock Shrimp Tempura. Strongly suggest both, one hot and one cold dish with unbelievable flavor.
Main Course - Chefs Sashimi Platter. All of it truly perfection and Award Winning Ishi Yaki Buri Bop ( Yellowtail on bed of rice cooked table side in a 400 degree stone bow)
Everything was perfect!
the food was excellent. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the kid 's menu. My son ordered the fried shrimp and it wasn't very good. Way too salty. Next time we will not order anything from the kid's menu. Not worth the price.
Our server Nancy was great. The fish was incredible
great service view food experience. sat right next to the pool so annoying and loud pool guests made it hard to hear one another until they left.
Glad ...I made it. Everything was great. I had the fish tacos and calamari salad. I hardly recommend both.
Best on the island
We were surprised the resort put this noted restaurant poolside...noisy place...rather than in the prime easy access location where its other less well utilized restaurant is located. If I had planned the place, i would have reversed the restaurant siting.
Our expectations were high, the experience was disappointing. We had a reservation at 6:30, we were not seated until past 7 pm and the first dish came around 8 pm. The food was good but a little too late, we also felt rush at the end as they were not taking more orders... not what we were hoping for our anniversary.
Food is incredible and the staff from the managers, to the hosts, and servers go above and beyond. Ate there twice in one week and was a wonderful experience.
Very good dining experience. The food and atmosphere is amazing. It's not cheap, but other than that, well worth the experience.
Outstanding, as always! Morimoto Maui continues to deliver on the service, the food and the experience—each and every time. It is one of our favorite restaurants on the planet.
Food was exquisite, outdoor seating was beautiful. We enjoyed our experience and would come back!
Freshhhh sushi ... great saki great wine list
Came for Easter , worn and dirty resturant , service was great but food was okay nothing special and I had high hopes for great sushi, but it was just okay, sticky ribs very good one of the appetizer we ordered, and we ordered everyone on the menu others we should of passed on
The deserts, only tasty one was the ice cream And sorbet
The other chocolate dish was old tasting not freshly made
Dried up and such a small spot of lilikoi barley could taste it and this island is full of the fruit !
The Road to Matcha is one of the best desserts I've ever had - super light and wonderful flavor combinations. Chef's sushi combination was also delicious.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the water, with views of the sunset. The tables were well spaced apart, following cover guidance. Contact tracing information was captured as we were seated. The food was excellent, but the kitchen was a little slow and the items were not well timed. The kids meal, which was probably the easiest, came out last. Parking was complimentary. The servers were friendly. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is incredible and the food is excellent.
Fantastic food, great view, amazing dining experience.
Although a restaurant at the Andaz Hotel and a smaller space than most other Morimoto restaurants, the quality of food and service was lockstep to what you would expect at any of his other restaurants - perfect. The service staff was knowledgeable and had the aloha vibe. The food was amazingly fresh and nothing beats the sunset views. Can’t wait for the omakase menu to return once covid/health protocols are eased but you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes, seriously.
We had a wonderful lunch at Morimoto. Do make your reservations before staying at the Andaaz bc we couldn’t get in for dinner. But lunch was lovely & delish! Fish was amazing melt in your mouth and service and ambiance were outstanding.
This restaurant was amazing! Purely excellent. The service was great. The food was excellent. The Spicy Tuna Sushi Rolls. Spicy Yellowtail Rolls. Steak. Rock Shrimp. Black Cod. There are very few restaurants when I say “Outstanding”.
Incredible ambiance at sunset. Breaching whales, a local luau and incredible evening views and music. The food was incredible and fresh, we absolutely loved it.
The food and drinks were amazing. Our server, Heidi, was great. We’d definitely come back again to dine.
Food always superb, and the staff was so accommodating
The food was delicious as always! Service delightful! I love Morimoto’s
Probably the best seafood I have had on the island thus far. Staff was amazing and so accommodating. Views were breathtaking. Very romantic. Would give it higher than five stars if I could.
Delicious and beautiful views.
Nancy provided fantastic service! The staff here is always amazing and the food is the best. We come here every time we are in Maui.
food was delicious and staff were very attentive! great first time experience. we had take out the next night as we really loved the food!
The food and service were wonderful. Beautiful views. We were there on a night that there was a large luau outside the restaurant. It was very loud but we enjoyed our evening.
My teenage sons ate the grilled fish and loved it. The shrimp appetizer is a must!
I have eaten at Morimoto Maui many, many times. The experience is always outstanding. The soft-shell crab bao was otherworldly awesome.
The only negative on this experience, which i have had happen one other time and commented on it, is that the fried calamari salad had too much breading on the calamari... when Mormoto's does this dish right it is the best salad of any type i have had anywhere... this time, it was merely good which seems a shame
The food was good, but not worth the price. The restaurant is by the pool, so it was noisy.
Very good meal. Food was excellent, view beautiful and service superb. Highly recommend
First of all we were really surprised to hear that the sushi rice was not gluten-free so all sushi items were off the table for my wheat allergy. i’ve never heard of such a thing in all my life of having a gluten allergy. they put a wheat vinegar in the rice as it cooks. It was a noisy poolside restaurant in a hotel. people were constantly cutting through the patio we we were sitting coming from the beach and trying to get drinks. The food was really expensive even for Hawaii and of course really small portions on some dishes. The bright spot of the night was our server who was spectacular on the ball and very sweet and funny.
Strange to have fair/bad service at a place like this. Forgot a app we ordered and quickly placed the check on table with no offer of after dinner drinks or coffee/tea for desserts? Great venue and very good food. Worst service we had all week on Maui.
