Our server Antonio and his team made our dining experience completely unforgettable. He talked me and wife my wife into letting him choose our courses and what a home run.

Easiest one of the best meals we’ve had in Hawaii or the mainland. Very creative food with innovative presentation. The short rib porridge was the best thing ever tasted!

Our waiter was more attentive to his “friends “ and only came to our table 3 times. Obviously they were more important than the rest of his tables. After recommending the fresh fish that was extremely disappointing he never came to see how it was. Obviously this restaurant is focused on sushi and we don’t eat that so can’t comment on it.
It was the worst representation of Japanese food beyond sushi I have ever experienced. Won’t be returning.

It was okay...but just okay. And with the hype that comes with Morimoto, I’d say that’s disappointing.

We were seated next to a loud talker . I could hardly hear my husband over her. There were also children screaming and splashing in the pool.. For the price,it was a terrible dining experience!.Why would you put a five-star restaurant next to a kids swimming pool?

Despite having a reservation, we had to end up sitting at the bar due to the wait.
The indoor seating is cafeteria like, very loud, bright and not something you expect for a beach location.
Food was mediocre, and the overall ambiance is the opposite of the really nice Honolulu location we went to last year.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

We have been to Morimoto's in Napa Valley (awesome), and this one does not compare.
We first ordered Morimoto's sashimi, and the menu lists what fish is served. So, you assume the sashimi will be served like in any other Japanese restaurant. A little while later a server brought a plate with squares of little fish pieces stacked on top of each other. She did not say this was the sashimi, and we just assumed it was a small starter from the restaurant. We learned about 30 minutes after we were served this dish that it was the sashimi we expected. This dish did not meet expectations at all.
We had also ordered our entrees and edamame. The service all night was very slow. The edamame and drinks could take 15 + minutues before they were served. Our entrees were served about 50+ minutes after we ordered them. One of the dishes as sushi, and it did not include all that was ordered.
We were so unhappy with the service, we could not enjoy the meal. The table next door had a similar experience. The manager, Simmi, did visit with us. He asked if we would come back, and they would give us the real Morimoto experience. He took a couple of items off of the bill including the sashimi, but not much else, and then, he assumed we would come back 4 days later to spend another enormous amount.
No thank you.

Sashimi fresh but I'm not sure its worth the price. other food was average
This location does not compare to Morimoto's Napa. the server did not seem happy to be at work; did not seem excited about the food, barely smiled. the hostess was very sweet.

I sent the below response to the restaurant on 2/15/20 and received no response.

When we check in we were told the wait would be just a few minutes. The wait for our table despite our reservations was almost 30 minutes and during that time while waiting outside the hostess did not check in or update us. Throughout the entire dining experience our server was not very attentive. It was a long wait even after we were seated before he even greeted us and took our drink order. When the starters arrived there was one of them that we ordered that we did not care for. Neither the server or his assistant asked how we were enjoying them. Then the food runner came and brought our main dinner courses and we had them take away the starter. Despite only have one of the six gyoza they took it away and did not ask for our feedback on the uneaten dish nor did the server ask us. While during our meal I had finished my drink and was not offered a second beverage for an extended amount of time. I eventually caught the glance of my server and placed a second drink order. It wasn't until our main food order came that our server realized I still hadn't got my second drink and he then went to put in the order for it. It clearly had been forgotten to be placed and it arrived half way through the main courses.

Overall the food was excellent with the exception of the one starter. Morimoto has some of the best sushi we've had on island and we love the sticky ribs. The service however really left something to be desired. I expect when I'm going to pay nearly $300 for a meal that it is going to have a five star level of customer service. This dinner did not have that level of customer service and really left my disappointed. Spending so much for a nice meal is something we save for special occasions and the service we received was not up to our expectations. This experience has left us wanting to choose a different restaurant for our next celebration.

Food is always excellent! Kitchen and wait staff exceptional! I’m tired of always having to argue though for a nice table. Their excuses are endless, then they can be rude! One junior manager in particular! They need a strong shuffle at the front of house. Scott was really kind a took a nice photo which we appreciated. :)

We had great ribs as an appetizer. My wife had Cod in a dark sauce and I had the $50 shashimi plate. Her cod was tasty but not 5 star and slightly fishy. My shashimi was a disappointment. Basically all tasteless when their should be subtle flavors, even being buttery if that makes sense. I’ve had much better on the mainland.

Seating is odd. One party on each of 2 tables will be sharing a loveseat for most of the restaurant. We ended up with a larger space between tables but it could easily have been intrusive with the other couple.

Without tip we spent $150. We loved our server but we were done with appetizer and main course in 30 minutes. No leisurely dining here! We will not be returning...

Nice atmosphere and view if sitting outside. I'd recommend it for certain dishes, not others. Everything we ordered was good but nothing to write home about, especially for the price. One major service issue was the timing of our entrees. They were 40+ minutes from when we were done our app. The server did send us each a glass of wine and was apologetic for the delay, which was a nice gesture. However, again, for this particular restaurant and price point, it fell a little short.

The food and ambiance were great but service was quite bad. The hostesses were overwhelmed right at opening time and we stood outside waiting for 15 minutes beyond our reservation time before they seated us. They did not apologize when we were finally seated. We had two small children with us and they were not warmly welcomed. Our server made an effort to make us comfortable however. We have eaten at many nice restaurants with our children in tow and we felt that for the overall experience, this was overpriced and not worth a return visit

Food was outstanding, but our server Tony was horrible. Thanks to David a bus boy/hostess and the other support staff who where outstanding. The bartender was also unfriendly and slow. We had numerous times where are drinks ran empty and TONY was no where to be found. There where other tables seated 20-30 minutes after us that got served first. TONY asked if where staying at the associated hotel and we said no. After that, Tony treated us like second class citizens. I would not recommend Morimotos due to the extremely poor service for the price of eating there.

Went for our 5 year anniversary. Great food and service. Reasonable prices for the quality given the expectation that this will be a relatively expensive meal at baseline. Really appreciated the servers hospitality and knowledge of the menu, particularly her ability to recount the omakase menu for the evening.

Would return again for a special occasion

The food and ambiance were incredible! I wanted to try everything on the menu but finally settled on two appetizers and two entrees for my other half and I. The wait staff were very descriptive and personable. The only thing that I would say needs work is their response time. Definitely you back though.
