The food was excellent, as was the service. My only complaints (which have nothing to do with the food or service) are:
1)the benches are very hard and after a while, very uncomfortable.
2) It was really cold in the room.
I loved the menu and the variety of selections available.
Amazing food and wonderful experience. We will be back for all of our special celebrations!
Food was pretty good. Hamburger was the best meal by far, bbq ribs were a little tough but still nice and flavorful. Service was extremely slow and inattentive. It’s was 20 minutes before we received our waters and drinks from the bar. We had to ask for bread that all the other tables had. Overall a disappointing dining experience. Too bad because we used to like to dine there.
The rib eye was as good as it gets. Rosa, my waitress was also as good as it gets. Coming from Montana I know good steak houses, and this is in my top three.
We had to wait to be greeted
Two other couples were behind us waiting to be seated when we were acknowledged. Other than that, great time!!
Went for our Anniversary, no rushing, great Cocktails and very good food. Been there many tines and will definitely go again.
We've been to Morgans many times but this particular time the food was exceptional. Had the scallops special and they were cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were delicious! The cocktails we had were also wonderful. Our waitress was very professional, friendly and efficient. She came back to check on us periodically throughout the meal and refreshed our drinks and water. A very pleasant experience. We'll definitely be back soon!
I took my hubby there for his birthday. We arrived too a little scrabble placard that read happy birthday! We had great service! Our server was attentive but not hovering. The food was delicious and portions were perfect! It was so yummy. We sat in a booth and the noise level was no problem. We even talked of taking my mother-in-law sometime soon thinking she too would really enjoy the food and would appreciate the ambience and would be able to hear us. I had the grilled salmon over risotto and my hubby had the chicken and risotto. The side of brussell sprouts and asparagus we shared were really tasty too. The fish and chicken were cooked perfectly. They even provided a complimentary dessert with a candle. And with really good wine, we didn’t break the bank. We will definitely be back!!!
We went on Valentine's Day. All three rooms were about half full while we were there. There were group's that came and left while we were there. We sat down at 5 pm and at 655 pm we had not received our entree yet. I asked for our check and we left. There said they were sorry for but no other service recovery was offered. They bright the check and commented that at least we got dessert pointing at the two candies in the check tray. I was going to bring a group of 12 the next week for dinner but we will go elsewhere. We have been there many times in the past and this the second time we had a bad experience. Being busy this night was no surprise just poor execution.
My love and I went here for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing! When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we went on our first date here and were returning for our first Valentine’s Day lunch. The restaurant gave us the most romantic table by the window with giant red wing chairs. We enjoyed everything about our time here today and it was so romantic it brought both of us to tears.
Ate there for the first time last Saturday. Food was good, service was very poor. Restaurant has 3 sections each with its own front door and servers seem to shuttle through back doors from one section to the other. We were seated right away, but did not see our waitress for 10-15 min. Waitress finally took a drink order which took another 10+ minutes for a couple glasses or wine. Also you have to ask for bread and butter as they don’t bring it automatically. Finally got our dinners but mine was not the the chop special (bone in NY) that I ordered. After another few minutes waitress explains that she didn’t know it was a different ‘button’ on the ordering system! I finally got my order after all 3 of my other diners had long finished theirs. They had the filets and prime rib which they said were very good. Our waitress was apologetic and said she told the manager, but the manager never came by to talk to us. Waitress brought our check without even asking us if we wanted dessert, and said she took my dinner off the menu, but apparently her struggles with the ordering system continued as she didn’t remove the charge at all! Lastly my chop special @ $45 was the most expensive item on the menu but not worth it at that price point ad everything else was in the mid 20’s to 30’s.
We both enjoyed our meals (Scallop/Lobster Pasta and Short Ribs). The service started out great but unfortunately deteriorated throughout the meal. This is our second visit and for sure would come back again to try more items on the menu.
Outstanding food and prompt, polite waitstaff. It's not the cheapest place in town to eat but it's worth every dime. I will not hesitate to go back.
The food was average but the atmosphere was nice. Tried it on a whim.
Great food, and service!!! Talked with a friend with little interruption and stayed a bit long with out being made to feel bad. Very comfortable 😊
Celebrated our daughters birthday. The food, drinks and service were top notch!!!
We went for our anniversary dinner—delicious meal and excellent service! Kenny was a great server which really topped off the whole experience.
First time trying their chicken and waffles appetizer, so good! Highly recommend!!
Another night at Morgan's for their great food. We have been there for anniversaries and birthdays before. This time it was a bit different. Four of us. My wife and I, and our daughter and grand daughter who we were celebrating both of their birthdays. Staff brought out two small bowl's of ice cream for both of them. Never before have we gotten an extra charge for the special occasion ice cream. This time I was billed $4.50, twice for the ice cream. They never used to do that before. Rather disappointed. Noise level was unexpectedly high . But it was pretty crowded and it was a Saturday night. We had parked in the back ( parking is very bad
in that area) and came in by the back entrance. Turns out our table was not in that section, but in two sections over and the rooms are not connected. Had to exit the restaurant and go to the second door in the front of the building to get to our table. This is not a big deal, except my wife can barely walk even with the walker that she has to use. Overall the food and service was great , as usual.
Kenny our waiter very good
Girl’s night out!
Good Food, Good Service, nice Dinner with family!
We are repeat customers and always enjoy our meals and drinks...
There were three of us who went to Morgan's on Saturday night. I haven't been there in over a year and was delightfully surprised. I had the Mahi mahi special and it was delicious but the vegetable was cold. Some one had the salmon and the last was the Tuna tartare. We shared the Brussel sprout salad, delicious! We sat by the front door and every time it opened our closed a cold blast of air came in so it was a cold location. It would nice if they could buffer that but repositioning the host podium.
A friend who had never been to the restaurant selected it, and it turned out to be great! My husband and I split the beef short ribs. They charged $7.00 to put it on two plates, but it was worth it, because although they split the meat, they gave us each a full portion of the side of mashed potatoes and veggies. It was plenty. One of our friends had stuffed acorn squash, which was also tasty, and the other salmon, which he said was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The restaurant's atmosphere is nice, with open brick walls. I look foward to going there again the next time we're in Woodland.
Great corner table to celebrate during our meal. Connor was our server and he was attentive, friendly and efficient.
Morgan on main bar and lounge are first rate. However the main dining area lacks service and needs better trained staff. Wine list needs upgrade.
service is poor, as if we were invisible. Food was OK but my vegetables were cold. Just not worth the time or money.
Enjoyed my delicious fillet mignon ! Husbands birthday celebration he had Lobster!
Awesome food. Great service. Clean good atmosphere
Service a bit more rushed than usual and it wasn’t a busy night. Our main course was brought to the table while the 4 of us were still eating our salads. Aside from feeling rushed all was fine
Morgan’s on Main never fails to provide that special ambiance. took my wife their for her birthday dinner and of course she loved it!
we sorry to say we love morgans ,but the last 3 times that we were their the food had really gone down hill
Excellent food and great service. They were able to accommodate our dietary issues, too.
Perfect place for fine dining. Everything is just right. Service is prompt, attentive, and classy. Restaurant is nicely decorated with just right amount of lighting. From seating, drinks, appetizer, and main course, timing is just right. Menu is not overly crowded. Rare in the Davis/Woodland/Dixon area, this restaurant's steak options are excellent; burger, seafood, and pasta dishes are very good too. We had the lobster macaroni cheese appetizer which was very tasty.
This is not a cheap restaurant, but the experience makes you feel it was worth every penny.
My family went for a lovely dinner,
The service and food was delicious. We enjoyed everything that was served after ordering the half rack of ribs, short ribs, prime rib, poke appetizer and pork belly appetizer’ it was all so delicious!
Entrees for two of us arrived at the same time. My entrée came about 4 minutes later with the French Fries swimming in meat juice... I had specifically asked that they on a separate plate.
We have had better service on other occasions. I conjecture we had a new server on this birthday evening.
Great food and attentive service in a very nicely decorated historic building in Downtown Woodland. It was quite busy there for a Week night. The lobster Mac & Cheese was excellent and we love the chicken less wings made with cauliflower. The only downside is the price, which is high for Woodland. Would not blink if in Sacramento. Worth the drive from the city or Davis for something different.
Food is a bit pricey but it is good. Their New Year menu was preset but did not list on the menu how much you were paying per meal so when the bill came we were a bit shell shocked.
Good friends. Good food.
This restaurant is easy to find and has good food. We were pleased with the service and our lunch.
