Everything is fresh and excellent. Lovely ambiance that is lively but not noisy.
Always consistent and the modest wine corkage makes it doubly delightful. Buck a shuck oysters on Tuesday also a strong attraction.
Asked for a romantic corner for a date, and the staff was totally cool and discrete it letting us linger!
I would call the food inspector on this place ASAP. As we were finishing our meal, a rat ran towards us under our table. My husband and I jumped from our seats in terror with our feet off the floor on to the booths. When the waiter heard me scream he asked if everything was ok... when I told him that a rat had ran underneath our table he had no emotion, no concern and had no sense of urgency to bring the manager over- he basically shrugged it off. We were unable to put our feet down because the creature was hiding beneath our table. As we were flagging for help and for someone to bring the check, we had to painfully wait another 10 minutes for the manager to finally come to “apologize” she said that the back kitchen door must’ve been left open and that’s how the rat got in. They were slow to present our bill, which we quickly paid and ran out. I will never ever go back to this establishment again.
The waiter should not lean on his leg when opening wine. It would be nice if the management trained the staff. He was very nice, it's not his fault it has not been trained. The desserts where tasteless. Sorry, I am in the industry. It's a great location
We had an appointment at7pm. We arrived on time. We did not receive our food until ten minutes to eight, which is the time they closed. My sons had steak, which was so bad we refused it. My dish had vegetables which were cold. My wife had shrimp which had no seasoning, and she loves shrimp. The waitress was very nice but the wait was too long for what we ordered and the quality of the food was very bad.
The service was pleasant The food was average. The lobster salad with avacado with very disappointing. Lettuce was old.
My husband had a beef taco . He thought it lacked flavor.
The hamburger was good.
Too expensive for what we had
No dessert. 2 proseccos and 2 bloody Mary’s.
1 soup 1 appetizer and 3 lunch entrees.
Almost 190 .
Went to celebrate a graduation and it was a disappointing experience. Multiple menu items were described incorrectly and food allergies were not accommodated properly. We were seated in the back wine room but the waitress was also serving tables in the main dining room so service was bad. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in years.
I have been here three times and tried something different every time. I think I will keep coming back. The dollar oyster on Tuesdays is another attraction. Wine list is reasonable and not exorbitantly priced like some other restaurants. Nothing not to like. Maybe rotate the beer available on draft every now and then would make it more interesting.
Morgan’s Fish House is a very good restaurant and if you like seafood it’s the best anywhere.
Very enjoyable. Food, service and atmosphere all very good.
Grilled salmon was slightly overcooked. Tuna carpaccio was as expected. Vegetables were excellent, as was the waiter's service.
We will try it again to see whether fish is better. Atmosphere is acceptable, but tables for two are very small: booths are better.
Food and service were great. However the music noise level was way too high. We tried to get the sound lower but to no avail.
Enjoy the ambiance at this restaurant very much. My only recommendation would be that the chefs use a bit less salt in some of their dishes. Had a lobster rigatoni dish that was extremely salty! Other than that, nice service and friendly atmosphere.
The food was excellent. The portions were generous, making it a good value. The service was very attentive. If I had one area for improvement it would be that the food arrived too fast. We had 6:30 reservation and our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering it. For such a nice restaurant I would expected a bit more time to enjoy our drinks before our food arrived. Still, we’d come back. 😊
Don’t order the shrimp gumbo!! Nice shrimp but otherwise no taste. Lobster was wonderful!
We just had lunch for the first time. The food is good. Because it was holiday lunch. The restaurant was too quiet. I’ll visit again, then be able to tell more.
My food was over cooked ! They seemed not to care of that. I left the burned flies and bread but no sorry from them.
The grilled branzino on a bed of salad was outstanding for freshness and flavorful simplicity. The food here never disappoints. Good service and quiet in comparison to other Rye restaurants where you cannot converse because of noise levels.
The experience at Morgans was disappointing on two levels. First, prior to making the reservation I checked the menu online. There was no indication of a special menu for Mother's Day. When we arrived we were advised that there was only a set priced buffet available. Since we were already seated we decided to stay and accept the buffet.
The food was another matter. It was relatively diverse with breakfast and luncheon choices available and plentiful but at best the "hot" food was luke warm across the board.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience.
The restaurant packed with way too many tables into the space they had. People were constantly bumping into me and Jostling each other. Fairly long wait to get seated, even with the reservation.I was there for Mother’s Day brunch, which was actually a buffet. That meant a lot of food under heat lamps, it was probably not their best work. The prime rib and shrimp cocktail were excellent however.
Fantastic! Brought the family there and was worried about having two young children but the atmosphere was vibrant and the noise level made it so any minor outbursts by my 2 year old went unnoticed. Food was fantastic too. Reasonable pricing. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
We had a wonderful pre-Mother’s Day dinner at Morgan’s Fish House. The food, service, and ambience were exactly what we were hoping for.
fish NOT fresh
First time, 2 of us in the party. Sat at the bar, friendly bartender, very good good. Look forward to returning. Would be nice if the octopus came w/more octopus & fewer potatoes. Great flavor though! Thank you.
The service was too attentive interrupted our conversation numerous times. Cleared plates as each of us finished, not as a course, more like we were rushed. Also, the entrées came out as soon as the appetizers were done...so, the pacing needs work & the waitstaff need to take it down 2 notches.
Otherwise, the ambience is great & the food is very good.
Overpriced and small servings!
I guess we came at a bad time? We had 5PM reservations and the place was 100% empty. We were given menus with a sheet of specials. Our waitress came by and took them back as the specials were for yesterday. We waited for the new special sheet and when the waitress came back to take our order I said we were waiting for the new specials and she said there weren't any because they weren't ready. Huh? It's dinner time! Anyway we placed our order and waited. Usually they bring warm bread and corn bread. Today, nothing. Had to flag down a bus boy. He finally brought the bread but it was cold. We asked him if we could get it heated up and he rolled his eyes and said ok. The bread came back warm at least.
The food was good as usual but we were really turned off by the lack of service when we arrived. If you are not ready to serve, don't open the restaurant. Nothing like being ignored while you are still setting up. I wonder what the specials were that evening! I guess everyone deserves an off day and this was theres.
Always enjoy Morganas especially on $1.00 oyster night (Tuesday)
It’s our go-to restaurant after a hectic day at work.
Love the food, service and convenience.
Tasty food, good
Service and very
My husband loved his food. Mine didn’t mention tomato sauce which I’m not that fond of. The menu needs an overhaul. However, we still love this place. Bread was stale too.
We thought we were going to Morgans for brunch on a recent Sunday. We had checked out the website on Thursday and saw a very nice brunch menu. When we arrived, we were given the lunch/dinner menu and when we inquired, we were told that the restaurant had given up the brunch and now focused on lunch/dinner. Okay, we probably just saw the website before it was then modified.
Anyway, that aside, the lunch was excellent. The salad was split and very fresh and tasty. We had the cod sandwich and the fish tacos. Both were also very good. the service was friendly and attentive-hard not be given there was only one other table occupied.
Really liked the atmosphere, food and service. Wish the price was lowered a tad. Still a good place for nice dining.
I had the most elegantly and deliciously prepared soft shell crab--the first of the season. We sat in the back room, where the noise level is quite low. Service was perfect. Overall, an excellent dining experience.
We dined in Morgan Fish House last Sat for the first time. Its ambiance was reasonable, but the quality of its ingredients is fair. I ordered grilled octopus and tuna taco. My husband ordered crab cake and clam pasta. The octopus was overly salty, well to cover the octopus was at a border line of being fresh. The beans in my octopus are bad. I didn’t finish the dish. There was white tough silver skin running through several slices of my tune, which should be removed in good restaurants, as the silver skin is very unpleasant to eat and doesn’t cook out either. I didn’t finish my tuna. My husband’s crab cake was ok, but the filling in crab cake was more than what should be put. His clam pasta was really ok. Similar to my octopus, those clams were on a border line of being fresh. Pasta didn’t’ cook right either. It was a disappointing experience. We realized after the dinner MFH was one of the Peal group restaurants. We went to another seafood restaurant in this group in Greenwich a while back, and had a similar experience about their ingredients. It is very easy to tell how fresh Seafood/fishes are. If a restaurant is in seafood/fish business, in my opinion the ingredients should be the No1 priority.
Between my husband and myself, we had 6 different items; 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. The food tasted like it was from a chain restaurant. My shrimp appetizer had the smallest shrimp I have ever seen, they were coated in bread crumbs and fried; almost like a popcorn shrimp. My husband's paella was almost entirely rice with very little and very small pieces of shrimp and sausage. Desserts (key lime pie and carrot cake) tasted like they were store bought in a box. Service was okay and ambiance was noisy but nice.
Dined during restaurant week. Very good value. My Bronzino was a bit overcooked but taste was decent. Appetizers were excellent as was extra spinach salad we ordered. Desserts were good. Excellent service and nice ambience
Buck a shuck Tuesdays is a great attraction and never fails to please.
We were very surprised at the fact that both our fish dishes were over cooked.
