Great menu and awesome recipes make this restaurant one of the best fish houses in all of Westchester. Good selection of wines with a decent neighborhood vibe make Morgan’s a place to go for any occasion.
Our initial interaction was at 7:30pm with the hostess that said without a reservation we'd be waiting 3 hours. So I used open table to make a 8:00pm reservation for 2 that worked (go figure), no problem. I called the restaurant right away to make sure they had that reservation and we were all set. The woman that answered confirmed out 8pm reservation and stated if we wanted to be 15 minutes late we could as they were running behind. Long story short... we were seated at 9:20pm. Never in a million years would I wait 1 hour and 20 minutes but on this night we had already had a few drinks at the bar down the street so it was comical that an upscale restaurant would actually make people wait that long with the hostess just repeating "next table is yours" over and over again. One table wasn't sat for 2 hours so we actually made out pretty well. LOL. Food was meh. It's edible but nothing to write home about.
Omg I had a first date here ; I made 730 reservations and arrived on time ; there were no empty tables jam packed and noisy . Went to the bar to grab drinks ; the Maitre d (female ) Saturday night , came over to offer us seats at this long table by the bar and we would have had to sit across from one another so we turned it down and asked her to please find us a table in the main restaurant ( bar area too noisy ) and come back to us . She NEVER came back . My date was fuming mad ; we ate at the bar and heard each other well because we were so close ; food was good ; can’t say I would g
Morgan's has been a regular for us and we have eaten there many times. My wife and I had a 7:15 reservation which was accepted by Morgan's, we did not get seated until 8:40. This was a Saturday night, and the place was packed. There was a very large party taking up the entire back room. The problem was that the one and apparently only table they were waiting to seat us at was occupied by a couple that did not leave until the manager went over and asked them to leave, after we told her how upset and angry we were. They did offer high tops but we did not want to be elbow to elbow with the other diners, and have the waiting crowd breathing down our neck. If you make a reservation at a fine dinning restaurant, you should not be asked to eat at the counter like it's fast food. The manager and serving staff did go out of their way to try and make up for the inordinate delay in being seated. They did comp. us on our drinks. We will not being going to Morgan's on a Saturday night again. I am sure based on the crowd, they will not be hurt by this. Just be aware that your reservation will mean nothing, if they have a big party and you are just a couple. We were upset by the treatment, even though they did try to make it up to us. The food as usual was very good.
My only issue was the reservation. My party and I were not seated close to an hour after my reservation. My table was close to entrance so there was a lot of traffic around us. It was a busy night so not much they can do on that end.
We were seated quickly.Food was very good.Halibut and gumbo main courses.
Powerful tobacco aroma at entrance door area.
Service was good, food portions generous.
Want to return to taste multiple appetizers.
Had an excellent Ballast Point sculpin IPA. (2) actually. Overall a comfortable charming dinner.
Nice nautical setting. Excellent fish tacos and delicious mussels. All fish is very fresh and well prepared. Service was prompt and server very accommodating. Anxious to return!
Had lunch with a friend and was craving seafood. Ate octopus and calamari bruschetta and mussels in white wine broth. Both dishes were extremely salty, rendering them unenjoyable. On the bruschetta the octopus was diced so finely that it totally got lost as one of the main ingredients it is supposed to be. The place is nice but I didn't get the great seafood I was expecting and will look elsewhere next time.
Great food! A bit of confusion taking my $25 Open Table Reward but resolved favorably after some explanation.
The lobster paella very good, as was the blackened swordfish and kale salad.
always delicious!! love eating there - never disappoints!
Great food - scallops were great and my husband had the fresh squid ink pasta.
Excellent service once again!! Always a positive dining experience.
Consistently delicious food and courteous service. A local favorite!
Great meal and great service Always a good time and great value
Tuesday $1.00 oyster night fabulous.
Can't wait to go back for more scallops appetizer.
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time. We were seated quickly and service was good. My husband enjoyed the minestrone soup but my calamari were just ok. Our entrees were excellent. I had the gumbo my husband the cod fish with potato croquets and broccolini. Next time we would ask not to sit in the booths across from kitchen. The banging of plates and pots was annoying.
Best waitor is rRichard. He was very attentive to our needs and checked up more regularly to see if we needed anything else..
This restaurant is a little over our budget, but we had a gift card, and it was a good opportunity to indulge. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt without being either rushed or intrusive. I asked for a quieter table, and my request was honored. I would go again for a special occasion.
Really excellent choice of fish - cooked all ways. Just incredibly busy! Service was quick though and the food was delicious. We remembered why we like it!
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
What a gem! Believe all of the great reviews. This spot has everything going for it...great casual, upscale atmosphere, warm and attentive service and amazing food.
We had a wonderful evening at Morgan’s Fish House. The Mahi Mahi was excellent and the Brussels Sprouts were very good although the bacon should have been freshly made. The most outstanding thing was the crushed cauliflower. Can’t rave enough about this side dish! I want the recipe.
We stopped in for a late lunch and we very pleased. This was our first time at Morgan's. Service was very attentive and the food was great. We started with the steamers and a few of the sea urchins from the raw bar. The sea urchin is served in the shell and on a bed of ice and garnished with baby greens. The urchin was fresh, firm and tasted like the sea. The steamers were large and are served with drawn butter and the steaming liquid. I had the fish tacos which were perfectly cooked and my guest had the braised short ribs which she said were soft, moist and very flavorful. Overall, a fun time and we will eat there again.
Had been a while since I had been to Morgans Fish House and my, what a difference time makes. We had an exceptional lunch, in a great room with wonderful ambience. The shoe design of the space with the 2 levels, the two bar stool areas is fantastic. The wine list is wonderful, the selections delectable!!
I must come back here more often.
A go-to place in the neighborhood for consistently fresh fish in tasty preparations. Both brunch and dinner are very good, and service is solicitous.
We have been more impressed in the past. This time the food was mediocre. One of three dishes was excellent, one was ok, and one was dry and overcooked. The waitress offered to have the overcooked fish redone, but we declined because we did not want to wait. It should have come off the bill but it did not. Meh.
delicious! we really enjoyed a great family birthday celebration, thanks.
Always a good choice with wonderful food - prepared well and full of flavor.
Food was excellent as usual! We ate early so it was quiet and the service was superb.
We had salmon and cod along with salads.
Everything was flavorful and enjoyable!!
The restaurant does get noisy later in the evening. I recommend you ask to sit in the back if you like the quiet!!
Consistently a delicious meal. Everything super fresh. Never skip the tollhouse dessert
Loved the special oyster and margarita deals on Tuesday nights. Will be back. All food good too.
Excellent as usual
We love Morgans! Food is consistently good. They are wonderful with kids too! Great place when you want a good meal but have the kiddos with you. Also a great spot for date night or girls night. Back room is great for private events. The only time I would avoid going is holidays (Mother's Day, etc.). They tend to overbook themselves.
Service was excellent. Trout special was very good. Scallops were very good as well. A good selection of wines by the glass.
We were there Thanksgiving Eve and they didn’t miss a beat. Food was terrific and the service was excellent . Sat in the back room which is a bit quieter. Consisently very good seafood!
Interesting atmosphere Food was just ok. Over priced
Our server was outstanding. We were looking forward to a quiet lunch. After we were seated two young families with children and the host/server seated them away from us. The food was delicious and I would definitely return
I had lunch at Morgan's this week. The restaurant was quiet with a handful of diners. Service was good.
I ordered crab cakes as an main course, with two sides: cauliflower and fried zucchini. The sides were great, however, the crab cakes were over done and a disappointment. My friend ordered grilled halibut with the cauliflower and a second side that I can't recall, and loved her entire meal.
Our deserts were the key lime pit and coconut cake. Both were okay.
After a less than gracious welcome by the "hostess", we were seated at a table right at the front door, and not even told about an empty table further back in a better location that stayed empty for nearly an hour. We had reserved through the Restaurant Week OpenTable website, and only after we were seated and asked for the Restaurant Week menus, were we told they were not participating and it was "the organization's fault" and it took them nearly two weeks to get it straightened out. They had no signs up up and did not make any effort to disclose this to diners.
The meal was okay. A tuna tartar with avocado and "crispy wontons" (that was served with some sort of mediocre tortilla chips instead) was almost tasteless. My the salmon dish was served over some jumble of vegetables that were really undistinguished and indistinguishable. Dining out is more than just good food; it's the experience and, all around, this one left a bad taste in our mouths. An off-night? Maybe. Not sure whether I will try to find out.
Nantucket Bay Scallops are in! The appetizer dish was over the top. Pair it with a salad, a great glass of Chardonnay and call it a great meal.
Always great service and amazing food made exactly the way you ask them to make it
