Morgans Fish House Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had dinner here for the first time. We were seated quickly and service was good. My husband enjoyed the minestrone soup but my calamari were just ok. Our entrees were excellent. I had the gumbo my husband the cod fish with potato croquets and broccolini. Next time we would ask not to sit in the booths across from kitchen. The banging of plates and pots was annoying.
This restaurant is a little over our budget, but we had a gift card, and it was a good opportunity to indulge. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt without being either rushed or intrusive. I asked for a quieter table, and my request was honored. I would go again for a special occasion.
We had a wonderful evening at Morgan’s Fish House. The Mahi Mahi was excellent and the Brussels Sprouts were very good although the bacon should have been freshly made. The most outstanding thing was the crushed cauliflower. Can’t rave enough about this side dish! I want the recipe.
We stopped in for a late lunch and we very pleased. This was our first time at Morgan's. Service was very attentive and the food was great. We started with the steamers and a few of the sea urchins from the raw bar. The sea urchin is served in the shell and on a bed of ice and garnished with baby greens. The urchin was fresh, firm and tasted like the sea. The steamers were large and are served with drawn butter and the steaming liquid. I had the fish tacos which were perfectly cooked and my guest had the braised short ribs which she said were soft, moist and very flavorful. Overall, a fun time and we will eat there again.
Had been a while since I had been to Morgans Fish House and my, what a difference time makes. We had an exceptional lunch, in a great room with wonderful ambience. The shoe design of the space with the 2 levels, the two bar stool areas is fantastic. The wine list is wonderful, the selections delectable!!
I must come back here more often.
We have been more impressed in the past. This time the food was mediocre. One of three dishes was excellent, one was ok, and one was dry and overcooked. The waitress offered to have the overcooked fish redone, but we declined because we did not want to wait. It should have come off the bill but it did not. Meh.
Food was excellent as usual! We ate early so it was quiet and the service was superb.
We had salmon and cod along with salads.
Everything was flavorful and enjoyable!!
The restaurant does get noisy later in the evening. I recommend you ask to sit in the back if you like the quiet!!
We love Morgans! Food is consistently good. They are wonderful with kids too! Great place when you want a good meal but have the kiddos with you. Also a great spot for date night or girls night. Back room is great for private events. The only time I would avoid going is holidays (Mother's Day, etc.). They tend to overbook themselves.
I had lunch at Morgan's this week. The restaurant was quiet with a handful of diners. Service was good.
I ordered crab cakes as an main course, with two sides: cauliflower and fried zucchini. The sides were great, however, the crab cakes were over done and a disappointment. My friend ordered grilled halibut with the cauliflower and a second side that I can't recall, and loved her entire meal.
Our deserts were the key lime pit and coconut cake. Both were okay.
After a less than gracious welcome by the "hostess", we were seated at a table right at the front door, and not even told about an empty table further back in a better location that stayed empty for nearly an hour. We had reserved through the Restaurant Week OpenTable website, and only after we were seated and asked for the Restaurant Week menus, were we told they were not participating and it was "the organization's fault" and it took them nearly two weeks to get it straightened out. They had no signs up up and did not make any effort to disclose this to diners.
The meal was okay. A tuna tartar with avocado and "crispy wontons" (that was served with some sort of mediocre tortilla chips instead) was almost tasteless. My the salmon dish was served over some jumble of vegetables that were really undistinguished and indistinguishable. Dining out is more than just good food; it's the experience and, all around, this one left a bad taste in our mouths. An off-night? Maybe. Not sure whether I will try to find out.
Always have a wonderful meal here. The fish is so fresh and the portions are generous. Love the steamers to start and the tuna tartare as my entree ( even though it is an appetizer portion). It is more than enough. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The ambiance is upscale yet welcoming and friendly. There is a reason I return to Morgan's frequently. Never have a bad experience. A great place to catch up with a good friend. Noise level is comfortable so you can have a good conversation throughout your meal.
Second time in Morgan Fish House, first time was outstanding so we were very very exited to go back with some old good friends. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience, service was very slow and one order was forgotten and arrived 25 minutes after the other orders. Fairly, this order was removed from the check but very disappointing after a first outstanding experience.
Always great food and good service. Husband had the special --- seafood paella -- excellent (but a bit salty --next time will ask them to hold the salt if possible) I had halibut tacos and daughter had grilled shrimp with side of crumbled cauliflower. Husband also had greek salad.
food was pretty horrible. ordered raw clams and oysters. Clams had a fishy taste and oyster had no flavor. All of the seafood was over cooked (fish, calamari, octopus, crab, shrimp, etc). sent in beverage many times and nothing was served. empty glasses for over 40 minutes with no refill. overall wait for the food was way too long. I would never return and never recommend to anyone. the pearl restaurant group locations have been horribly disappointing for the past several years
