Dinner started out okay, but became disjointed when we ordered a seafood tower and appetizers and they decided to move us to a bigger table. We asked for a different table when they initially seated us, and were told one was not available. During the move, our water glasses, "which they insisted they take care of" were mixed up. We'd ordered bottle water, so when the assistant waiter got the glasses mixed up, they charged us for another bottle of water.
One member of our party ordered ice tea, but was told she should try the Arnold Palmer, so she tried it. She did not like it, and had them bring her lemonade. We were charged for both.
I order my meat, either medium or medium well. All of our meat came out over cooked, actually charred on the outside. Flavorful, but never in my life, had I been served steak in a reputable restaurant that looked like this. Not just mine, all four! I know chefs don't like to cook meat medium-well, but it can be done without charring the outside black.
We had eaten at LAVO and CarneVino during our stay, and loved both restaurants and the service. I now see why the ratings are so drastically different.
Finally, as a hotel guest, we had signing privileges set-up, only to be told there was something wrong with my account. I took out a credit card to pay, but then remembered the front desk was right outside, so I walked to the front desk to check, only to be told there was and had never been a problem with my account, and to have the restaurant call them if they continued to have an issue. When I relayed this information, they left the room charge bill for me to sign, and scampered away. They lied and were embarrassed. No one came over to wish us a good evening, after previously having several visits during our dining experience from the manager. I cannot recommend Morels due to its food, and more importantly their unconscious bias. If you did not believe I was who I said I was, why not, just ask to see my ID?
The server was great as well as the assistants to the server. We will be going back and highly recommend this venue. The food was exceptional.
Poor, Disappointing! The raw, cold seafood bar was not working so we were not able to have any cold seafood appetizer. They were out of the only seafood entree offering only one option. We had early reservations and the restaurant was not full so there was no excuse for running out of anything. Basically the entire seafood menu offerings were not available.
We had to ask for water twice when we first sat down. Our entree was dumped on our table within minutes of receiving the appetizers. I had to ask them to take it back and slow down.
The staff while very nice, was running around in a frenzy all night making our heads spin. It seems like the staff is having to work extra hard to make up for a lack of organization and process. Overall, the food quality turned out good and staff did their best. The problem is the management.
I arrived and my party had already been seated outside. It was 50 degrees outside and freezing but there were no other tables available. I asked for them to turn on the heating lamp at our table, but was told it was not working. I asked someone else to bring over a working heating lamp as the first person had simply walked away. We were all wearing our jackets fully zipped with one person seated right by the door so his chair kept getting hit. I walked inside to ask to be moved but was told it was not possible. When we were served our steaks we were asked if we wanted to move but by that time it was a moot point. Service was rude as we were told off when our server asked if we had the tenderloin and we said we had filet mignon and rib eye. He came back out and said these are your steaks i asked you about them 10 minutes ago. My $63 ribeye was not medium, but overly well done and basically inedible. This was a business meal and I was not going to make a fuss about the steak when so much was already going wrong. Terrible service, terrible food.
Restaurant was set up to nearly double normal capacity for CES. It was like eating in a very expensive cafeteria. Unbelievably loud, with everyone packed in like sardines.
Service was spotty at best. Food completely forgettable.
The Grad Lux Cafe which is the Casual Dining restaurant had better food, service, and ambiance for less than half the price. I’ll never eat there again.
A waste of $1, 200.
We ordered Lobster Bisque for a starter. After more than 40 minutes, our bisque arrived cold and like pudding on the top. The service was more than slow and the food was not worth the wait.
This was a terrible experience.
First of all, I had a reservation for 9PM, I only got my table assigned at 9.50PM. Second, me and my dining partner had to share a table with another couple of diners. Third, ordering some bread was not possible...."we don't have any bread".
The crew gave the impression that they did not know what to do and how to handle big crowds, it was chaotic, noisy and just not a nice place to sit and spend you money.
So, me and my dining partner left, before ordering.
Overall, this was a bad experience for such a classy looking overpriced place.
Three of us had a reservation for 8:45PM. We checked in early but weren't seated until 9:30. They did serve us a complimentary glass of champagne while we were waiting but in general the front was overwhelmed with guests arriving and no open tables. The restaurant was busy because of CES. We didn't get any menus and no one asked if we wanted something to drink. We finally flagged someone and he brought us some menus and another person served us water and bread after we asked. Our waiter finally came by to take our order after 10PM. There were two other tables that were seated shortly after us and there service wasn't any better. One table was able to order around 9:45 but the waiter didn't come back to take the orders for us and the other table until after 10. Two of us ordered the rib eye medium rare and one ordered the halibut. We ordered some sides. The food finally arrived after 11PM. And the rib eyes were overcooked, just short of well done. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he offered to redo the steaks but we wanted to finish before midnight so we declined. The sides were lukewarm, too. I picked at my steak, it wasn't very good. Not sure what was happening in the kitchen but not a pretty night. The waiter didn't charge us for one of the steaks. The manager should have known things weren't going well but no one came by to apologize for the poor service or food. One of the other tables mentioned their steaks were fine; they got served before 11. It was the worst meal and experience I've had in Vegas, ever.
