Morels Steakhouse & Bistro - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
We were looking forward to eating here since we heard such raving reviews. Our experience started off on a rocky start with an over zealous waitress who was extra anxious and gave us a rough vibe. We reached to manager as he was passing by and almost immediately, our experience was elevated. Kevin was professional and courteous. Never once did he say anything negative about his employee but focused on providing us highest level of customer care. We kindly approached our waitress too and she apologized for rushing through. The rest of the evening and meal met our expectations. Kevin kindly poured us each a glass of champagne on the house as an olive beach which we so appreciated. He didn’t have to do that. We laughed it off and it was smooth sailing. Food was amazing. Our compliments to the chef!! Lovely place to visit and say Hello to Kevin the manager.
A truly great restaurant!
Morel's is our favorite restaurant at the Palazzo. Here with the wife celebrating my birthday and Valentines Day.
This time we had the Seafood Fettuccine and the Alaskan Halibut. The food was wonderful as usual.
The staff was great and very friendly also as usual. Shout out to the manager Jerry K (who we missed this time) but we did get to see our favorite servers Nadia, Marina, and our new friend Mohammed.
For Valentines Day they have the wife a nice heart shaped balloon with a chocolate candy base. For my birthday they gave me a nice Vanilla Creme Brûlée that we shared for dessert.
A five star review as alwa
$400+ table for birthday sunday brunch. Was 10 mins early to reso, host took us to a table that wasn't set for the right amount of people. We would of gladly waited for her to check to see if the table was ready for us instead of having to stand next to the table watching them add settings & pull chairs from another table. Server never properly greeted us, came up and asked what we wanted to drink or if we were ready to order, thought he was the bus boy at first cause he helped the hostess set up table and never said anything to us until he tried to take our order. He forgot a coffee, one guest ordered no dairy so asked for no cheese, the sandwich came without cheese but he failed to mention it comes w/sour cream and creamy horseradish...first thought should of been to ask if guest was lactose intolerant. Never apologized. The chit/ticket mentioned a birthday, birthday guest even reminded him, also walked by as we were cheering the birthday girl and he still didnt know who it was. Section and restaurant was slow, so should of been more attentive. I had to ask for a speacial dessert when server should have pulled person who made the reso to ask when a good time to bring the dessert would of been, no acknowledgement until I asked even though we had been sitting there with no food and drinking mimosas for a while just waiting. Did not clear table as often as should, or refilled water.
Food was extremely bland, no flavor what so ever, but looked beautiful. The menu had great options and had organic! The yellow table cloths are hideous, with nude paintings on wall...didnt really understand the flow or theme of restaurant. Chairs comfortable, the bussers and server assistances were pleasant. Kept mimosas coming which was the only good thing. Just kinda average experience, expected more for price and sunday brunch, rated well on thrillest...and well, vegas in the pallazzo...so 2/3 out of 5. Thank you anyways thought!
Like most Las Vegas casino restaurants, it was over-priced, esp. the wines. But like many Las Vegas casino restaurants, the food was excellent, and the service too. We had the Greek salad, steak, and asparagus topped with a fried egg. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly.
I took my husband for his birthday (which I mentioned in the reservation, and they did not mention it at all.) to Morels and was expecting a very nice meal. It was far from that. The only thing that was excellent was the scallop appetizer. The steak was mediocre, we paid $120. for Main Lobster that turned out to be more like langostino. The baked potato had imitation sour cream. It was just disappointing all around. The cost was $330.00 for the two of us which is considerably more than we have paid at Lakeside Restaurant at the Wynn which is heads and tails above what received here from service, to food, to ambiance. Very disappointed!!
The food and the wait staff were fabulous. The fondue appetizer was fantastic. It could have contained a little more cheese though.
I didn't care for the person who greeted us at the entrance. He was not friendly and he sat people that came in after us that had no reservation. (We had a reservation.)
I also asked for a table in a quiet area. I'm not sure the place had quiet areas. They sat us next to a party that had 18 people -- VERY NOISY.
I would definitely recommend this place for the food and wait staff, just not as a romantic setting.
Not a great experience. Hostess was out of sorts, waitstaff took 5 minutes to acknowledge the hostess had seated us. Besides that, they set us in a high traffic area right at the front of the house, there were better tables and we were well dressed for the place. I had the filet mignon, it was over salted and under cooked for a medium steak. My boyfriend who's birthday we were celebrating had Bolonese. Average food at top shelf prices, spend your money else where.
It was a slow night the evening we dined there so we expected prompter service than we received. The food was overpriced and bland. We ordered the tomahawk ribeye and the onion soup. Both were not worth the price. The ambience was acceptable but not worthy of a high quality steak house. The server was pleasant but frequently absent as we were left waiting for our cocktails on several occasions. Overall we will not be returning as there are much nicer steak houses in Las Vegas.
I had a 8:00 pm reservation for 12 that I made two weeks in advance. We didn’t get seated until 8:47pm, I had four older gentlemen in my group that were having trouble standing in the outside area waiting that long! I informed the attendant of this situation three times after when I checked in at 8:00 and they told me they were running 15 minutes behind. A couple of the steaks were ordered medium, but were closer to rare.
This was the worst service I’ve experienced at any restaurant ever. It started from the moment we were being seated and continued the entire night. When you spend several hundred dollars on a meal and it’s a special occasion it’s more than disappointing to have that type of experience.
This was the worst restaurant experience I have had in a very long time. The restaurant was over booked, our table was given to another group and then we were put at a table that was clearly added in between other tables at the last minute. We sat there completely forgotten about. We had to pour our own drinks, no one came around to check in on us. After almost 2 hours of waiting for our steak the manager comes by to apologize that something went wrong and they were working to get our order finished. I was then served a cold raw steak that spent maybe 1 minute on the grill.
The manager was so embarrassed that the restaurant did not charge us for any of the 4 mains that we ordered. Told me he is just trying to do damage control.
Really disappointed that my third visit to the restaurant was so terrible.
Terrible experience, the noise level made it impossible to converse at a table of 6. the service was poor for a restaurant of this caliber. Cost was outrageous for the standard of food, service and ambience. I would recommend any other medium to high end steakhouse over Morels as would my business collegues
Reservation for 8 people @ 7 for business dinner with customer seated at 7:45.
All steaks served cold. Reserved new steaks 45 minutes later. Customer said worse meal he has had in LasVegas in 22 years, we're at restaurant 4 hours!
Our company has 2 other tables of 6 with similar issues. Will not be back, too many other better choices in Las Vegas.
Dinner turned into a 3 hr event due to the slowest service i have ever encountered. Could not get drink refills timely and when the food arrived it was luke warm at best. The family style sides are actually individual portions and they came out with no spoons! 4 stems of asparagus is family style!? Had to ask the "water waiters" to get the waiter multiple times and to also get him so we could pay. The tables and chairs were back to back to back. if you had a middle seat, good luck getting out! The waiter had to walk around multiple tables to get from one end to the other end to obtain the orders and deliver the food. I will not recommend or ever return.
We have eaten here for the last 8 years for our annual company dinner. This is for us and our top buyers for the year, treating them to dinner/drinks. Usually it is pretty good. This year was absolutely horrible. We booked in advance with reservations for 8 people for 6:45pm, Tuesday, January 23rd. We were all there on time and starving after a long day of travel. Most of us had been up for about 19 hours and walking the show floor for last 10 hours. Once seated, it took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, almost 30 minutes to get served a spec of bread. Almost 20 more minutes before we got our drinks and then a few minutes later our server finally TOOK our dinner order. Our bread was never refilled, we had to chase down a waiter to get drink refills, never asked if we needed anything. It took 1hr and 30 minutes to get our soups arrived, 2hrs and 20 minutes before our dinner finally arrived. We finally received our meal with empty drink glasses and no bread at 9:05pm. Keep in mind we arrived at 6:45pm. Two fish dinners and one filet dinner was fine. However, two specials (Steak & Lobster $140.00 each) were horrible. One steak was very well done & tough as leather (ordered medium), the other was raw in the middle and both lobsters were dry, shriveled up and cold. One of the other steaks was burned to a crisp and a potato that was dry/hard as a rock. The other two steaks were raw in side, all ordered as medium. Since our waiter was nowhere to be found, I advised the manager (James) about our service, our wait & our meals. He removed 5 of the dinners from our bill but then let us sit there without an offer to replace our meals. I had to call him back 25 minutes later only to be lied to and then told if we wanted to replace out meals it would be another 45 minutes to an hour. We were then double charged for several drinks, charged for the most expensive dinner that wasn't eaten and 5 of us left without eating dinner at 945pm. Our bill was still over $775.00.
Not even close to a pleasant experience!
Positive - Overcrowded, noisy.
Negative - Service, food.
Service started out fine, got drinks and was able to order apps in a relatively timely manner.
After that service was slow.
Drinks sat empty for at least 20 minutes. By the time we were able to order a 2nd round of drinks we were pretty much done with our meal.
Only good thing at all regarding service was that our water glasses were constantly being refilled.
Overall service was slow our waiter inattentive and we were definitely treated as an afterthought.
One steak was ordered medium raw and came well done.
Lobster was like rubber and tasteless -way over done?, stale? whatever.
Had to get up to find someone to get our bill.
Had to get up and find someone to pay the bill.
My guests had eaten at Morels previously had a very enjoyable experience but Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 6:15 pm to around 8pm was miserable.
Spending a sunny Sunday having brunch on the deck of Morels, overlooking The Strip is a great way to enjoy Las Vegas. The service is great, food delicious and cooked to order (as compared to buffet options elsewhere). This is a place that caters to tourists and locals. Pricy, but worth it. Highly recommend.
