Best recommendation from our waiter---the trout; It was delicious, and everything else as well. Can't wait to come back...
A delightful dining experience. The food is creative and delicious.
Good place but expensive. Rare food and not for everyone.
We saw the 4.9 rating in Opentable and thought this cannot be true. The whole experience was outstanding. We were in town from DC. Edwina R.
Our server was lovely and our apps and drinks came quickly, but it took us over an hour to get our main course which was concerning. The food was then slightly cool and a bit disappointing.
Did not enjoy the food, went away hungry after spending $200. The wine was good, and service was good. Dessert was dark chocolate cake which did not taste like chocolate at all, so it was disappointing after a so-so appetizer, salad, and entree.
Wonderful restaurant!!! This was our first time there, and we loved everything about it. We are already planning a return trip with our next door neighbors.
Outstanding service, environment, and food. Loved the lamb carpaccio, something I normally wouldn’t have tried. They butcher all of their own meats so we went outside our comfort zone and was delighted. Leg of lamb and duck pasta were also fantastic.
My food was over salted on the main, a vegetable dish with squash. The appetizer was good though.
Best restaurant in Milwaukee! 👍
Love this place. The food is so fresh and flavorful. The staff is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed. It's our absolute favorite restaurant!
The cheese board and flatbread starters were great for a group of 5 to share. Everyone was pleased with their entrees - I loved the slightly spicy lamb ragout. The stellar salted Carmel pyramid shaped mousse was the outstanding finish!
We overall had a pleasant time at Morel with some bright spots and one disappointment. We came in on a Friday night at 6 and were seated immediately. Our servers were affable and knowledgeable about the menu. We had a special mushroom fricasse for an appetizer which was the star of the night. For mains we had the lamb leg and pork chop. The lamb went over well, but my pork chop wasn’t butchered well and was quite under. I didn’t notice until a few bites in unfortunately as the lighting was so dim. I noticed how hot pink the meat was when I paused at the chewy texture in the center of the chop and then looked carefully for confirmation. We ended up not bringing it to the staff’s attention at the time, but I’m sure had I they would have addressed it.
Service was lovely, starter was a home run, pork dish needed work. We’d come back but would order differently.
Another great time at one of my favorite place's in the city
Monthly night out with adult children.
Lamb chop was excellent and pork belly was outstanding
Had a customer in town from NYC and like me, he stated it was one of the best meals he has ever had. The food is amazing.
Top shelf across the board.
Food is always so flavorful and the staff is very pleasant. Great place
The best dining experience in Milwaukee. Proven work nice again.
It was a nice place. Was nice that they have their own parking area across the street in a hard to find street parking 3rd ward. The food was good. My braised short ribs was excellent, my wife's lamb dish was ok, bit overdone. Came with a smoked sausage or some sort that tasted like it was bathed in liquid smoke. She normally doesn't like smoked anything but I tasted it myself and it was soo overpowering that it make me a bit sick to my stomach. My strawberry goat cheese cheesecake dessert was tasty but there was no strawberry taste anywhere in the cheesecake nor any after topping of any sort. Overall I'd go again some day to try some other items on the menu.
My wife and I went to Morel to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and so had to wait about 10 minutes, but this was expected. The host was friendly and engaging and kept a conversaton with us until our table was ready. Once seated we were given menus and the waitress was over almost immediately to take our drink orders and share the specials with us. She brought our drinks and then took our Starter orders; my wife had the herbed flat bread and I had the rabbit loin. Both were amazing and came attractively plated. As our starter were delivered our Main course order was taken. The mains were delivered shortly and were very impressive and also plated very nicely. I had the rabbit ragout, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It was flavorful and has just a touch of heat to give the dish some zip without overopowering with heat. It was perhaps one fo the best rabbit ragouts I have ever had. My wife had the duck breast, which was very good, but was just a touch too salty. It also was attractively plated alongside a mixed greens salad. For desset I had the white chocolate chiffon with elderberry and apriocot sauce, while my wife had the sorbet. The service was impeccable with the waitress providing the perfect amount of attention without being intrusive. As for price, Morel is more expensive than I would normally pay just to go out for dinner, however, as far as a location for a special night out it was a less expensive than I was expecting. Dinner for 2 (without drinks included) came to right around $100. I found nothing that was a real negative about the place, however the music was a little up beat for a romantic night out, but it was not overpowering. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a nice night out. My wife and I will be back again.
A couple Fridays monthly, my wife and I try to do a date night and spend some quality time out on the town. Each one involves dinner at Morel— and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Phenomenal service, excellent food, and the overall experience never disappoints. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and make a reservation STAT! Say hi to Ralph at the door!
Outstanding service and delicious food - perfect way to ring in my 42nd birthday!
We were warmly greeted and taken to a table we’d requested. Our server was Carson. He was informative, friendly, and attentive. He explained the specials, made some recommendations, and took our orders. The duck mousse was delicious. A great starter dish to share. My husband enjoyed the beet salad loaded with beets, greens, and flavor, while I had the cauliflower soup, puréed and wonderful. I enjoyed the rabbit ragout: a combo of pasta, rabbit, heat, and deliciousness. My husband liked the pork shoulder with sausage. We shared an amazing caramel dessert. Such a terrific dinner. We’ll be back.
We keep on returning to Morel. Great, friendly service, YUM food and has a good upbeat vibe. Lamb carpaccio is one of our favorites, really delicious.
Wonderful experience all around! The atmosphere was phenomenal with great seating space, low noise level, and great music. The food was perfection. This chef combines flavors and textures to make you want to pause and savor every bite. Every bite is well thought out and leaves you wanting more and more. The dishes are truly special. I cannot wait to return.
Excellent accross the board. The food, service, staff and ambience were all top notch
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Morel! The food and drinks were great. We will definitely be back.
Delicious and great atmosphere! We would definitely visit again.
Very nice service from the time you walk in to the time you leave. Not a big menu which I like. The food was so delicious. Our waitress was kind, knowledgeable and friendly. Cannot wait to go again
We enjoyed the Duck Liver Mousse, the Smoked ham biscuit, the Pork Belly, and the skirt steak. The salad on the side was very good as well. We would stop in Milwaukee to eat at this excellent restaurant. The mousse in particular was outstanding. Friendly waitstaff and greeters.
Great drinks, even better food! Love the open kitchen. Can’t wait to dine here again!
Absolutely wonderful! We went for my husband’s birthday and dinner started with a glass of completely champagne. Off to a good start! We got the ham and honey biscuit special, braised lamb and duck. Nothing disappointed! Or waiter was wonderful. Top notch experience all around!
Excellent food and service. While some boutique restaurants work too hard to be unusual and end up with dishes that are just too over-spiced or odd, this restaurant JUST hits the mark perfectly. Unique but simple enough for anyone to enjoy. The knowledge of the bartender and our server was impressive. The square tables are nice and big, allowing people to share dishes etc. without issue. The entire experience was a 10.
Our visits to Morel are always really, really good. Servers always know about the menu, and here are a couple of little things I consistently find there, and always appreciate: the servers don't need to write down your order table-side, and when one of the team delivers dishes, they know just where to place them (no "auctioning" of the plates).
From beginning to end, Morel is a 5 star experience. The ambiance is casual comfortable with a friendly staff. The menu affords tasty options with a nice balance of plates. Great wine list!
Delicious! Business dinner was a success! My client loved the food! I appreciated the staff accommodating us by placing us at a table along the wall so we could talk and hear comfortably. Staff accommodating to my request to tweak a few ingredients in a dish as well. I will be back.
Best food in Milwaukee hands down and the wait staff and host are so friendly.
Best braised short ribs!! Charcuterie board was lovely and delicious. We will be back.
