Beets with smoked goat cheese, ox tail, and ribs with pomegranate sauce were outstanding. We lingered at our table longer than we should have and they were very friendly in helping us transition to the bar area so they could turn the table over
We sat at the bar (too noisy in the back). Our bartender was superb. She described the food and drinks in a helpful way even though we are familiar with both Spanish food and wine from trips to Spain. It made the visit all the more enjoyable.
Birthday celebration. Service excellent, servers knowledgeable and paced the foods for maximum enjoyment. We could savor each dish . Outstanding food.
We enjoyed Tremendous meal featuring the suckling pig and great cocktails.
Went there for Mother’s Day dinner and loved it. It was my second time there and was very consistent from the first to 2nd time being there. Service was slow but food was good enough to overlook that part.
I've traveled all over the world, and this is one of the best restaurants I've ever dined at. A must try if you're around the Pittsburgh area.
Morcilla is always spectacularly good. We had a terrific meal.
This was our first visit to Morcilla and we were very impressed. The food and service were wonderful - especially liked the beets and the ribs. Only drawback - the on the rocks pour may be the cheapest in town.
Loved the food. But would not order olives or bread next time. The olives were ordinary, the bread too small a portion for the price.
Amazing experience as always!
Fabulous food; takes you right to Spain. The service was phenomenal - I've never seen anything like it, the way we were taken care of by the serving staff.
From food to impeccable service, Morcilla was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Order a bunch of small plates and snacks, with some great wine and have a beautiful evening!
Amazing food and great service. Server made great recommendations, and we were not disappointed!
Service was excellent. Food was wonderful. Dessert terrific. Unique quality. The group enjoyed the sangria and the ability to many after dinner drink choices. One item I thought was not at the level of the others was the fideua de mariscos. Too many mussels, not enough calamari and clams and even though on the menu the mussels list after the other two. I felt there was a bit too much sea grit in them too. I think this can be changed going forward. However, a great place to lightly dine or enjoy a one of a kind no rush meal in the city. Definitely will go back and try more of the many choices.
I didn't look closely at the menu. The food was not for me. What we had was good, but not worth the cost in my opinion. I also did not like that individual entrees could not be ordered.
Seriously amazing food and cocktails. Bring friends and split the large plates
Ok. The food is great. Really tasty and fun. I have been here about 5 times. My only complaint is the service which is a bit slow and a bit unfriendly. I’m fromNew York so I’m used to snooty service. But I really feel that they could be friendlier and more efficient here.
My husband and I had an excellent meal. The service was superb. We have been here many times and the service was the best we have had. We had a great table and could watch the chef preparing the charcuterie plates, etc. Great time! Of course we will be back!
Incredible dining experience. One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Excellent as always!
Impeccable service. Amazing food. Gustatory experience.
Food was excellent as always! The tartare is one of the best in the city. The mushrooms are creamy, savory goodness. The ribs fall if the bone and melt in your mouth. Chelsea at the bar is incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and provided superb service!
Mmm, tasty. That's as articulate as I can be after that dinner. Justin Severino did not disappoint! My husband and I have wanted to try Morcilla for a while. Tonight was our lucky night out where we got to indulge a little. I'm happy to report that we can't wait to go back.
Since this was our first trip to Morcilla, we opted for the Family Feast which allowed us to sample a wide variety of the menu. Our favorites were: OXTAIL MONTADITO, FOIE BLONDE, SPANISH MACKEREL ESCABECH, and BEET CONSERVA. I could eat that beet conserva every day of the week! The creamy cheese mixed with the earthy beets... That's my idea of happiness. Honestly everything was delicious!
I also want to give a shout out ton the service staff at Morcilla. They ran that restaurant like a well oiled machine. Whether they were bringing out food, refilling drinks, or wiping crumbs off the table, they were on top of it. I was really impressed!
I cannot wait to go back to Morcilla and try the other delicious items on the menu. It's not every day when your entire experience is phenomenal, but that's what we experienced at Morcilla.
Excellent service and deliciously created food at the hand of chef Nathan Hobart.
Great food. Great service.
Great experience, especially if you love cured meats ... salami, hams, etc. The sausage dish was AMAZING! Great service, intimate atmosphere, nice presentation. Love that you can see the kitchen. Easy, on-street parking. Gin-drinks were sophisticated and herbaceous, in a very special way. We did small plates. Felt like being in a secret, local, tapas spot in southern Spain. Chef Justin clearly committed to his craft. I’d eat there every night if my left descending coronary artery would let me! LOL
Great food and atmosphere.
The combination of tastes and textures were fantastic!
This is a great neighborhood spot. Lots of delicious pintxos, tapas and shareable entrees available. My recommendation is to split several small plates between friends (try the foie blonde!), split the steak and don't stop at one pitcher of sangria!
So delicious! We tried a number of different dishes- the octopus was our favorite.
Meals are very good. It’s a pain to find close by parking, but it’s worth the visit
Stellar food, knowledgeable wait staff, great bar drinks and a warm inviting atmosphere. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Staff was very knowledgable. Food was very good.
I liked the format of how a dining experience was conducted at Morcilla. I like having the opportunity to taste a few different things from a menu in one dining epxerience. The Morcilla menu was perfectly set up to accomodate this.
What I didn't care for was the atmosphere. I felt that my dining experience was hindered by this. The small amount of lighting looked good at first glance, but functionally it didn't work. I like to see what I am eating and I need more than a single flame of a candle to do it.
Also, I don't care for being 6 inches away from the next table. I felt like if I wanted to be part of the neighboring diners conversation, I could have easily done it from where I was sitting.
Good food, it just missed the mark for me on the atmosphere.
Had a great experience. The food is so well done. You’d be well served by perusing the menu before you visit but I was surprised, in a good way, by the high quality and excellent taste
Excellent food and amazingly knowledgeable waiters, let them suggest wines to go with various tapas
Great Spanish food in Pittsburgh. The Cava, the lager and the Tempranillo by the glass we’re all reasonably priced and some of the best options outside of Espana.
The charcuterie was perfect. The morcilla was the best but that is splitting hairs.
Worth the trip.
Had a fabulous first experience at Morcilla while visiting Pittsburgh to see the football game. Our waitress was awesome and gave us such great direction with the menu options. Cocktails were yummy especially the red wine sangria...it is so inviting with its orange/rosemary/cherry garnish. The food was wonderful...melt in your mouth cured meats and the oxtail were the highlights of the night. The staff was so patient and gracious with us as we probably overstayed our welcome and closed the place down....who would want to leave such a comfy gourmet haven?! All around winner restaurant!
Love Morcilla. I've been there several times and it never disappoints. The food is creative and delicious and the Sangria excellent. It's difficult to find Sangria like the make it in Spain. This comes as close as I've found.
I have traveled all over in search of good food. I would say Morcilla had food that was better than much of the food I had while doing an Iron Chef tour in New York. Simply unbelievable food. Lighting could be a little less dim though.
