As always, great service, great food, and a really fun evening. Perfect for groups as well as a romantic dinner, depending on day and time.
Food all very good to excellent. Unfortunately the restaurant was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. Dinning kinda tight with too many people crammed into the space. Both myself and wife left with a headaches.
We had a great experience on a Saturday night. The restaurant had a great energy. The bar and table service was excellent. Very professional and attentive. We had a table of 5 and lots of dishes which were all perfect. Pasta, Fish, Salads - all amazing. Constructive criticism is that the table space is tight and the placement of tables is a bit random. This is a must go restaurant!
We’re early diners. The food is almost always above average. From Friday — Sunday the place is super loud with lots of little kids doing what kids do. Not a problem for most, but worth knowing.
It was excellent. I highly recommend.
Morandi offers warm, comfort, Italian food - but certainly not boring. Great spot to get all the classics - the dishes are full of flavor and the staff are great if you are in for a quick bite or want to linger and finish the wine. Great spot in the neighborhood, always full of energy.
The restaurant was full and had a great ambience. But the noise is loud and can make important or detailed conversations difficult
We have been to Morandi several times before and have enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the past. This time, our entrees were brought before we had finished our starters. No apology, just a pile up of plates. It was difficult to enjoy the rest of the meal.
Way way too noisy. Bring your noise canceling headset
Overpriced drinks: $20 (SMALL) MARTINIS !! $18 GLASS OF WINE
Overly dry halibut, however, delicious meatballs!!
My friend and I were visiting NYC for the weekend and decided to come to Morandi for a later dinner. We were not disappointed and had an fantastic dinner. Service was excellent, food was fresh and very delicious!
Prosecco was chilled to perfection.
We had an awesome night. Our server was fantastic, the food and drinks were outstanding, and the place is beautiful. My only complaint is that it is unreasonably loud. They really need to install some sort of sound absorbers.
We’ve dined at Morandi several times. It’s a lively spot with great food and professional staff.
Great food, energetic ambiance and friendly service. Also excellent value for money. The place to go before a night out
Best lemon pasta and steak
They took great care of us on our anniversary date night. Wonderful table and excellent staff who made us feel welcome. Tiramisu was very, very good. My halibut was excellent. Husband ordered lobster spaghetti; was a bit disappointed with lobster portion which he was told was enough for two. It was undercooked but the flavors were spot on. This place was recommended by a friend and we would definitely recommend as well.
The food was delicious and the service was great
Tiny pasta portions and limited options for pasta. All in all was just ok.
Too crowded. Delicious food and great service.
No order at the hostess stand, unless you stand over their shoulder (reservation or not) you’re not getting seated anywhere near the time they told you. Took 10 minutes to even get menus. 4 bread baskets came before we relieved mediocre apps, the fish was FISHY. Very sick after. Pasta as dry and up flavorful. Overall priced too high for reservation wait time, service, food, etc. the place is too big for what they can handle, maybe If they cut the number of tables in half they would be able to manage.
This is a gem that has been around and we went for lunch. They greeted us in a very friendly way and gave us a window sit looking out on the street activity. Our waiter too was friendly and fun. The food was terrific and the ambiance was lovely. We would definitely go back.
Always a wonderful experience. One of my favorite neighborhood spots for any occasion.
Food was good quality but our service was very bad. The waiter forgot our appetizer order and then when we said we still wanted it he forgot to put it in again. Overall experience wasn’t worth the price.
Morandi is consistently delicious. We were very happy to return after having been there on our previous visit to Manhattan. Everyone should come here when visiting NYC! It’s a great place to go for a leisurely and delicious dinner with family, friends, or on a date. Fantastic!
Fritto misto eccezionale.
Not impressed at all. Our pasta was not good. The apps and drinks were decent but I don’t understand the popularity of Morandi.
Way too loud
Pasta was very good, but our appetizer never arrived even after checking after it a few times. Waiter was very busy and never asked us about a second round of drinks.
Morandi is one of my standbys-because it's really good food and service. Sometimes, particularly at night the noise is overwhelming and it's impossible to have a conversation unless you enjoy shouting to your companions. This time my party chose to sit outside so we could talk; but it was chilly and the scaffolding is not like having an awning but a very unfriendly bunch of tables and chairs stuck in a construction zone. Not Morandi's fault, but it takes away from the ambience, unlike indoors which is quite comforting and rustic. So if you're immune to the effects of everyone shouting, you'll be happy with the food and the service.
Some of the food was great, some was inedible. I expected much better for the price and the reputation. Service was average to poor. I had the daily special (3 small lamb chops the 3 small artichoke heart halves and steamed spinach...$39). I'm not supposed to eat spinach and asked for another side item. "No. This is New York. You can purchase other side if you want." Sad. Separate checks? "No. Too busy." I will definitely try somewhere else next time.
Morandi is such a neighborhood gem. Amazing food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Simply perfect.
Morandi is one of our favorite family joints: terrific food; friendly, excellent service always. Outdoor seating is wonderful in season. Thanks, Morandi. 👍👏
Superior eatery in the west village, lively ambience and excellent wait staff make for a wonderful evening. The portions are small but taste great. They are great about letting you have a relaxing evening we were there for over 3 hours.
We arrived at our 6 pm reservation and were immediately seated on a busy Saturday evening. The waiter was prompt, friendly, and most importantly the food was very fresh and very good.
This is my second time at Morandi's and the food is absolutely amazing. I highly highly recommend the meatballs. They are the best thing I have ever eaten :)
I loved my dinner experience at Morandi. All was perfect! I strongly recomend a visit to this italian restaurant.
Service was poor - a lot of staff for the time and number of patrons but very inattentive. Disappointing!
Always great but a little bit rushed during dinner service
A little bit of Italia on Waverly Place! Food is always spot on and a very comprehensive & nice wine list. Service is always professional and the ambiance of the restaurant makes one feel like you are eating in an Italian bistro. Always reliable!
I have been dreaming about spending a fall afternoon dining on the patio at Morandi— and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing— and the staff respects your privacy. The ambience can not be beat. I could sit here for hours just taking it all in. This is my new favorite spot in the City! We will return!
