Morandi is one of my standbys-because it's really good food and service. Sometimes, particularly at night the noise is overwhelming and it's impossible to have a conversation unless you enjoy shouting to your companions. This time my party chose to sit outside so we could talk; but it was chilly and the scaffolding is not like having an awning but a very unfriendly bunch of tables and chairs stuck in a construction zone. Not Morandi's fault, but it takes away from the ambience, unlike indoors which is quite comforting and rustic. So if you're immune to the effects of everyone shouting, you'll be happy with the food and the service.
Some of the food was great, some was inedible. I expected much better for the price and the reputation. Service was average to poor. I had the daily special (3 small lamb chops the 3 small artichoke heart halves and steamed spinach...$39). I'm not supposed to eat spinach and asked for another side item. "No. This is New York. You can purchase other side if you want." Sad. Separate checks? "No. Too busy." I will definitely try somewhere else next time.
Morandi is such a neighborhood gem. Amazing food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Simply perfect.
Morandi is one of our favorite family joints: terrific food; friendly, excellent service always. Outdoor seating is wonderful in season. Thanks, Morandi. 👍👏
Superior eatery in the west village, lively ambience and excellent wait staff make for a wonderful evening. The portions are small but taste great. They are great about letting you have a relaxing evening we were there for over 3 hours.
We arrived at our 6 pm reservation and were immediately seated on a busy Saturday evening. The waiter was prompt, friendly, and most importantly the food was very fresh and very good.
This is my second time at Morandi's and the food is absolutely amazing. I highly highly recommend the meatballs. They are the best thing I have ever eaten :)
I loved my dinner experience at Morandi. All was perfect! I strongly recomend a visit to this italian restaurant.
Service was poor - a lot of staff for the time and number of patrons but very inattentive. Disappointing!
Always great but a little bit rushed during dinner service
A little bit of Italia on Waverly Place! Food is always spot on and a very comprehensive & nice wine list. Service is always professional and the ambiance of the restaurant makes one feel like you are eating in an Italian bistro. Always reliable!
I have been dreaming about spending a fall afternoon dining on the patio at Morandi— and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing— and the staff respects your privacy. The ambience can not be beat. I could sit here for hours just taking it all in. This is my new favorite spot in the City! We will return!
Food exceptional as always!
I was disappointed with the food. The melon wasn’t ripe ($19) and ny friends eggs weren’t poached ($20). At these prices it’s unacceptable.
Very good food, on the pricier side.
The ambience could use a little improvement and definitely the sound level is deafening, I don’t know why they don’t use some more sound absorbent materials. On a Saturday night forget about having a conversation without yelling.
Service is the bottleneck. SLOW as it could ever get. It’s a struggle to get a hold of your server and it takes forever just to have some water or your order taken (some of the servers even have to scramble between tables inside and outside).
Great service. Great neighborhood place.
Love Morandi as usual! The food is outstanding, the staff is nice and knowledgeable, and it’s such a great neighborhood vibe!!
Server was wonderful. Food was outstanding. As usual. Expect nothing less from Morandi.
The waiter didn’t serve the food courses as we asked and he promised. Pasta was a little cold. Meatballs were great! Staff that greeted us was awesome!!!
Ambiance was lovely. Beautiful decor. Server excellent. Disappointed in the food
There are A LOT of Italian restaurants in NYC. This is my favourites. Love this restaurant. When in New York, I always make a stop here. With kids and without kids, it’s a great place to go.
While we didn't have a bad experience at Morandi, we didn't have an exceptional one either. The food was good, but not worth returning to. We ate outside and definitely should have gone inside because it seemed the atmosphere outside was not up to the same level of inside. We noted in our reservation we were celebrating a birthday and our waitress did not make mention if it. It was just many little things added together which made it a place I don't need to return to.
Well-prepared classic Italian food. Beautiful burrata platter, served on two plates because we planned to share, lovely pasta with lemon sauce, and a delicious agnolotti made for a memorable meal, we dined outdoors with a friendly and helpful server looking out for us. I had a wonderful Prosecco with passionate fruit juice, probably my favorite pre- dinner drink of all time, We have been to Miranda before...and it has consistently made us smile (as did the check...which was not NYC over the top by any means.)
Morandi is always one of my favorite go to places. The best food and great ambiance.
Always love the food at Morandi. It's a little too loud for me inside usually, so best to sit outdoors when the weather permits.
Took forever for a waitress to come to our table. We had to flag someone down. Then she was slightly rude. Love this restaurant but was disappointed this time
The service was most inattentive and lacking ... had to wait for the server for long, despite the restaurant being empty and on;y 2-3 other tables occupied ... the server also had a terrible attitude. Asking for water or a refill of coffee was such a chore for the server, and the dishes and cups were removed before we were done. This will be my last visit to Morandi.
Molto bene! Awesome restaurant with amazing atmosphere!
I think the place is very noisy but the food and the service is very good
One of the best Italian restaurants in town! However, it suffers the same problem like other NYC restaurants: too much noise :-)
At Morandi, we enjoyed the lovely warm room, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. Food was very good -- all of us enjoyed our pasta dishes. Portions were on the small side but reasonably priced. The scallop ravioli was the stand-out. Desserts were the weak point of the meal and will be skipped at our next visit.
Food was delicious! Portions were the perfect size. Service was very nice! Was able to sit outside and the ambiance was so great!!
Always great to have dinner at Morandi. Food and service are excellent.
Never dissapoints....food was fantastic. Table outside was perfect.
Great experience. Waitress was aware of our surroundings and helpful in speeding up our dining experience.
The food and service were excellent. We had foccacia flatbread starter and the Cacio e Pepe for an entree. Both were great.
Morandi is always consistently great! The ambience , decor, wait staff are always on. Great cocktails and even better food. We had the octopus which was perfectly cooked without a hint of chewy. Richly flavored yet not over powering. The hand rolled spaghetti is perfect as well. Pasta cooked perfectly then simply flavored and delicious. The Orata was moist and flavorful. Perfect meal . Get the fritters for desert although you can’t go wrong. The pastry chef hits them all effortlessly! My go to place
Everything was very good except for one dish. The salmon was completely over cooked. The rest of the food and the service were very good.
Food was bland (cacio a pepe and the psto pine nut pasta as well as the eggplant parm.), not super impressed.
