My husband called this his 'boys night Italian spot.' it's fun and lively and gets a great crowd. The food was average ok. Cacio e Pepe was very yummy and the Negronis were strong but I didn't find it outstanding. Its a good fun, weeknight hang out spot and also good for large groups.
Superior customer service. Thank you for going the extra mile with the octopus redo. The food & drink was delicious. Love the homemade pasta. Caesar is. Great server. Wonderful dining experience. Cheers.
I've always loved Morandi, and they have done a great job of creating a safe environment, as well as a delightful one. I've missed their "cacio e pepe," still the best in the city.
Incredible service and delicious food! 10/10 would recommend!
An old fav. Never disappointed. Would return as often as we can.
Our server could not have been nicer, but for the money, there are dozens of other brunch spots with far better food for a lot less money.
It was also a bit clumsy...I ordered a tea and my friend ordered a coffee. We had to ask three times for Splenda, and when they finally came through, they showed up with one packet total for both of us.
Beautiful environment, great food , great service
Food was great and as I remembered pre-COVID. There was good spacing between all inside tables and had plexi-glass partitions for outside tables (even though it was much more crowded and not 6 ft between tables). However, it felt like we were being rushed and were only there for a little over an hour in full so I wasn't sure what the rush was all about. After every portion of the meal, we ordered an appetizer, mains and a dessert + 2 round of drinks, people would try to clear plates several times before we were finished eating. I felt like I had to have a fork in hand and on the plate so they wouldn't try to keep taking the plate or asking if we were done. That was probably the only issue but kind of made our meal less enjoyable.
The lemon pasta was so good! If you're on the fence because you think it might be bland, GO FOR IT! You won't regret it. Also the wines are delicious :)
Great! Perfect evening!
Although I would recommend Morandi to a friend and my brunch experience with a friend on a recent Sunday was delightful overall I must mention disappointment with the asparagus mushroom frisee salad. Honestly it was so skimpy, with just a few wisps of frisee over very small amounts of asparagus that could have been canned and mushrooms, it looked like someone's leftovers. For $15 it was unacceptable. On the other hand our egg dishes were excellent with generous portions. The ambience was lively as usual.
Got there on time and we were promptly seated. The weather was better than expected and we were able to sit outside instead of inside like we had made the reservation for, which was nice. However, they said we couldn’t sit in the sun, only parties of four could, but they changed that rule for other patrons. There was no menu barcode on our table, so we had to wait a few minutes for them to provide us with one. We were not offered any hand sanitizer, but we had brought our own. The bathrooms were also available for use inside, a plus during COVID. They forgot our bread and brought it to us along with our meals, after the appetizer - I didn’t ask for it but I suppose better late than never. The clams were very, very sandy; I almost complained for my spouse but didn’t want to deal with the hassle. The meatballs I ordered were average, nothing special. The calamari dish was a bit exotic because they include two whole shrimps and some small fish, but overall seemed low quality. Also, the waiters mistakenly had his elbow in my drinks, touching my straw, while taking food away. Again, I didn’t want to have the hassle of complaining so I just let it go as I was almost done with my drink anyway. Overall, a pretty poor-to-average experience these days.
We had a fun dinner
No social distancing. Tables far too close together and people crowding the hostess stand and sidewalk.
They made a small mistake on our order and could not have been nicer about it!! They didn’t need to apologize so much! Plus, the food and atmosphere was great. We’ll be back!
As always, a NYC favourite, although this time seated outdoors. The restaurant has done a great job with Covid-19 - my group of four total did not feel unsafe, the space was pretty and comfortable, and the management created the same buzz. Great food and great service. Well done, Morandi!
Outdoor dining in the West Village is still alive. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly and it was delicious. Loved the grilled octopus! Pasta was cooked perfectly. We will be back!
We came that night for the birthday of my husband and everything was FANTASTIC as usual. Felt really good to seat inside again! We love that place and would recommended 1000000%!!! Food and service PERFECTION
I’m glad to see Morandi hasn’t missed a beat since resuming operations after the COVID shutdown. The food is the same high-quality as before, and many familiar faces are back on the friendly staff. PS, the Franciacorta Mirabella goes great with every item on the menu.
Great food, people watching, service and selection. There's no reason NOT to go here!
Consistently terrific year after year—even during a pandemic!
Morandi’s clam dish has to be one of the best dishes I ever had in my life. Highly recommend any Keith McNally restaurant.
Great dinner! Just like the old days!
We loved all of the pasta dishes we ordered at Morandi. Highly recommend!
Delicious and great service! I'm so happy they've re-opened after being closed during covid.
The food was fantastic. The Salmon and the Organic Chicken dishes are to die for.
The fried artichokes and the bruschetta are beyond delicious.
Service was great. Food was good but could have been better.
Fantastic all around. A NY classic.
This was a pleasant dining experience. Atmosphere was nice (outdoor dining of course).
Very nice waitperson. Food was good
Only criticism is that someone should have known what fish was in the fritto misto. When I asked.
Keep in mind, the outdoor seating offers a limited menu.
Great dinner at Morandi. Service was fantastic! As was the food.
Yummy food as always! The service was great, super friendly staff. Felt very safe with Covid measures as well, highly recommend!
Service was impeccable and took care us like family.
Great food returns.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS the best ( and the perfect meal and company prior to the city shutdown due to coronavirus). The wine was pretty good too, and the espresso martinis! 😎 Can’t await for this to all be over with to return! Hang in there.
Very good restaurant, great welcome and service, nice set up, good food. Only downside was the noise as it was full and very loud inside.
My family of 7 that dines out together on Sunday nights and eats out at top restaurants 4-5 times a week was quite taken aback by the aloof server we had this weekend. He acted like he wanted nothing to do with us and I noticed the same at other tables. We ordered 3 bottles of wine and quite a few appetizers and entrees and other cocktails so we should have been an important table to him. My Pasta Bolognese arrived with virtually no bolognese sauce. It looked like I had taken my Friday night leftovers out for Sunday dinner and the sauce had all been eaten. This was the first time in 18 months of dining out in NYC I had to send my dish back. Our appetizers were quite nice as were several of the other entrees. In the past we have enjoyed dining here very much so perhaps this was just an off night. This server really should not have been working if he hates his job so much. With so many great restaurants in the West Village and Chelsea we won't be rushing back any time soon.
Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Delicious food, cozy and lively. There's a certain buzz to it. Every person in their was having an engaging conversation. Good wine selection too. Loved it.
Everything was great, but the noise level was so high that it made it almost impossible to have a conversation.
I love your restaurant but it sure would be nicer if it were a bit more quiet.
