We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Inn. We felt safe, everyone wore masks, it was quiet (i.e. no street noise like other venues), the staff was attentive, we never felt rushed and most of all the food and wine were excellent. Our go to place now!
We were staying at the Inn
great outdoor dining lovely view and friendly service staff
The setting was tranquil. The menu provided a lot of choices. We ate outside on the veranda and I would love to go back soon.
Terrible service, we wait more than 45 minutes to get our breakfast!!
The food ok but a horrible experience!!!
Very quiet, tucked away restaurant. Little pricey for quality of food, but consistent quality service and prime location.
Amazing service, great food, and the ambiance was perfect for a Valentine’s date night!
Valentine’s day
First, the good: food was very good, both ordered the Reuben. Had planned to order fish tacos but they were not local fish as stated on menu and only limited to mahi mahi. The glass table was spotless, cutlery, etc. all super clean.
Second, the average: It was valentine Sunday lunch so 15 minute wait at table before we were approached for an order and another 25 minutes before the sandwiches came.
Third, the poor: disorganized at entry check in and need to learn some professionalism. We were told to arrive 5 minutes ahead and were actually 10 ahead. We waited while the hostesses dealt with one customer ahead of us with no reservation. Then we continued to wait because we were told our table was being cleaned a total of 20 minutes. While we waited a party of 6 came with same reservation time we had, and were seated immediately at a lovely table on the veranda with a view. We were next shuttled off to an interior (no view) patio where smaller tables were seated. After our long wait, this seemed rather unfair and when I asked about a table with the view the response was "fully committed". Message here: Do not expect great service unless you are a large party! We are locals but do not plan to hurry back to Morada with so many fine and well run restaurants here on the coast!
We made a reservation here for Valentine’s brunch to enjoy the beautiful view and patio. Instead, we were seated in the back in the dim library. Service was very slow and food was ok.
Our server Max was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging.
We always enjoy the food and ambiance here. This past Sunday morning however, some of the service was poor, with a friendly waiter who however ,never apologized for the following.
After our food was served, we needed to wait around five minutes for our server to appear to tell him we had no silverware. When he brought it, after a few minutes,we noticed that our napkins were damp. We began to eat, not wanting our food to get colder. We again, sat with damp napkins on our lap ( it was around 59 degrees outside ) when 10 minutes later, our server arrived asking if we needed anything. We asked for dry napkins and explained the problem. He returned , not promptly with different napkins. It almost appeared as if he didn’t believe us.
It was Valentines Day but the restaurant at 10 AM was not so busy to warrant this lack of attention. We are usually not complainers
But this seemed a bit much.
We may still return since we enjoy the food and ambiance,
I’m not sure.
Just love going to the Morada during those special times of life when a good meal and great service can really make for some memorable moments! Thanks Morada Staff!!
Had a reservation at Morada day before Valentine's day.
We were seated outside directly in front of the fireplace which created a lovely ambiance for my partner and I.
No negative reviews at all. We're two women, so we get cold easily. But our server, Dutch, surely delivered. He brought us over a heat lamp and blankets!
The food was fantastic. We ordered the crab cakes to start and split the short rib which was cooked perfectly.
Truly one of our favorite dates! Thanks so much. We will surely be back.
Excellent as always. Very good service, food, and understated elegance. Highly recommended.
Waiter very accommodating in providing a heating unit on a cool morning. Service and surroundings very pleasant, as usual.
Excellent food and a lovely environment!
The Huntsman part of the restaurant is a great venue! Make sure Dutch is working as he is the tops for cocktails and service.
Had seafood, crab cakes and Scallops. Scallops were tiny and way over cooked. The crab cakes almost tasted like corn fritters and couldn’t taste the crab. Overall the food was below expectations and overpriced
Great menu and beautiful patio and dinning area. Their Royce Salad with Baja Prawns is incredible! Highly recommend.
Great food, service and setting.
Pasta was very overcooked, calamari was all breading, and the lamb was raw.
Too bad because the ambiance is rather nice.
Happy Thanksgiving AdiA. We sincerely appreciate your feedback, and we so sorry you were unhappy with the meal. I have forwarded your concerns to the chef.
Every bite of food was an explosion of flavor. The ahi appetizer was incredible! Just the right amount of spice and texture a creamy and crunchy. And my sea bass was PERFECTLY cooked and the flavor was beyond. Our waiter was the exact balance of friendly and attentive but also left us to enjoy our food without us ever feeling rushed. It was like he could read our minds. I can’t wait to eat there again.
Hi Juliel. We truly appreciate the glowing review you left us. We look forward to seeing you back soon.
Lunch was good. Always like the ambience of the patio. Our 3rd person was a little late arriving, but the staff did not rush us. Patio is always quiet. Food is always good.
Hi FrankK. Thank you for the comment. Have a great week and see you back soon
A lovely departure from a very difficult year . Thank you! Our waiter was lovely.
Hi JeanneK. Happy Thanksgiving. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Prices has increased substantially. One small order of french fries is $14.00. Beautiful terrace with quiet atmosphere.
Hi Drew. Thank you for the compliment on the atmosphere. Your concern about the price has been shared with the management team.
The hostess was rude. We have been there many times before and had a good experience so this was very disappointing. Besides that it is a good restaurant in a beautiful location.
Hi Pinkflower. I am very disappointed to read about your recent experience - this is certainly not typical of Morada restaurant or the Inn At Rancho Santa Fe for that matter. Our goal is to always provide great service that will make you want to return again and again. Your concern has been shared with the management team.
Awesome!!! Will definitely come back
Hi BabitaJ. Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you back again soon.
My only complaint were the two people at a nearby booth who were conducting what a appeared to be a Zoom meeting on their laptop with the volume turned up quite loud. Completely unacceptable in a nice dining establishment. When I spend close to $100 for lunch for two, I don't expect that lack of courtesy.
Hi BarbaraS. Thank you for your feedback. I have shared your concern with the management team.
Admittedly, it was a Monday night but, from the hostess to the waitress, it was obvious they would rather be someplace else. I ordered the fried chicken. It tasted and looked old, as if it had been fried earlier and reheated in a microwave. My wife had a pasta dish which was unimpressive. The facilities in the dining room are tired. We do not recommend this venue.
Hi RichardS. Please know that we have taken action to ensure this problem does not occur again, and we thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. We have also shared your comment with the chef regarding the fried chicken.
Great experience at Morada. Nice location overlooking fireplace area... since we couldn’t be outside due to rain , it was perfect
location . Our cocktails were great and our breakfast was yummy
Great service A must try , when in the area
Hi Janet. Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you soon again. Hopefully it will be nice outside, so that you can enjoy our great San Diego weather.
outside dining was nice even though it rained. Good service.
Always reliable! Charming restaurant at the Inn with great food and attentive and friendly service! We always have a great meal and relaxing time here.
Very good service and beautiful surroundings. This is a place to go and check out of the daily grind for dinner.
Hi Micheal, Thank you very much for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Great business lunch! Brussels sprouts were excellent!
Hi YaraB, Thank you very much for your review. We will share the comment with the chef. Have a great week and please visit us again soon.
good food. Birthday celebration.
The food was good but the service was really poor. We were there early and only the second table to be seated but it took 25 minutes to get anyone to notice us. Two other tables were sat next to us and they had immediate service and drink orders. The waitress did nothing to rectify it and was annoyed the rest of the night she had to wait on us after we pointed it out. When you spend that money on dinner in Rancho Santa Fe, you’d at least like to be treated well.
Hi Jason, First and foremost, please accept my sincerest apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you had during your time with us. Please know that what you described here is not the level of service expected of our employees. We thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We will absolutely be discussing your point of concern with our staff.
Absolutely delightfully!
Very disappointing visit. We had been to this restaurant several years ago, while staying at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and were happy with it then. This time, however, not so much.
We did have an Open Table reservation made a couple of days ahead of time. I assumed we would have an outside table because of Covid-19 protocols, but were instead seated in side in a small, very bare feeling room. (No disrespect, but remindful of Denny's). For much of the evening we were the only ones in the room. We should have asked to move to an outside table 9not because of pandemic concerns, but just much more pleasant outside), but I usually take what we are given.
Aside from the bad room, food was not good. Shared a calamari first course which was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. My wife had seabass, OK but not worth the $40+ price. I had rack of lamb which was terrible, maybe the worst I have ever had. Although done roughly medium rare, as requested, it was still dry and not tender. Again, for $40+. Cocktails were, on the other hand, quite good. And our server was also good, even though he could not overcome bad room and mediocre to bad food.
All in all, a quite expensive night that was in no way worth it. Will not return.
Hi Douglas271. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have high expectations for ourselves and are all sorry we missed the mark on your experience
Food, service and environment was perfect for our anniversary.
