MOOR at Gaylord Palms Resort
There is more to MOOR than what we serve on the table. MOOR is a state of mind. It’s that time at sea when you’ve found your destination and all is right with the world. The boat is anchored and the drinks are in hand. Kick back and unwind aboard our reimagined dockside dining space. With the charm of a captain’s paradise and the class of an upscale yacht club, MOOR is everything you’ve imagined and more. But don’t let the sophistication scare you - we're all here to have a good time.
And always remember… there ’s MOOR to Life.

wonderful service , my daughter loved sitting on the boat and our server was awesome
Great server love she crab soup!
Byron our waiter was superb! Great constumer service.
Byron was awesome! Many thanks to him for making our Mother’s Day weekend great!
Food was fantastic. Waiter recommendations were spot on. Loved dinning in the sailboat watching the fish swim by in the lagoon.
Atmosphere is beautiful. Food portion sizes were so small we ended up needing to go to the nearby sports bar after dinner to eat. We were convinced that two of the plates had a sauce mix up because the flavor combinations didn’t make sense but were assured they were correct... just weird.
The server was excellent, manager was great. But there’s no chance I’d pay to eat there again.
FASTer conference w/girlfriends.
Gaylord where MOOR is housed is beautiful.
Ambience of MOOR is fun, on a ship. But food was mediocre at best. Golden Tile fish was very dry. Wine selection was nice but very expensive. Our table was in agreement we should have sent our meal back. Waitress was a sweetie pie, but so soft spoken we had difficulty hearing her and she was not seasoned, wasn’t ready for upscale dining. Unfortunately food was terrible especially for the price point. Won’t be back ☹️ Big disappointment.
Have several people waiting on us. Food was cold by the time we got it. Person who served us the fish literally practically threw it on the table.
The food was good, but the boat was a little warm in the atrium.
Food was good except for dessert. It was very dry!!
Our server, Michelle, was great!!
The menu prices are high, especially for what you get. If you got good value for the selection, then it would be a different story - of course, along with well prepared food.
We were supremely rushed through our meal, even though the restaurant was less than 1/4 occupied.
Ordered a glass of wine and before we knew it, the $11 salad appeared, which should have been advertised as a petite salad. The ingredients were fresh and good tasting. We did not ask for nor were offered a dressing selection, although the dressing was tasty and sparse (which I like).
We hadn't finished our petite salad when the $34 main course appeared. Since we didn't care for the selection of fish offerings, we settled for a pasta and seafood dish. The 1 cup of pasta (this is NOT and exaggeration) was grossly over cooked, almost to the point of being mushy. There was an acceptable, but miserly amount of bay (?) scallops. We mentioned the pasta situation to the waiter, but it fell on deaf ears.
Noticed that some tables were served a tray of lavosh, but our waiter did not offer nor bring any to the tables he was waiting on.
Have eaten lunch at the Moors a few years ago and the meal was barely acceptable. It hasn't gotten any better, but then, they count on a captive audience and not repeat business, so there probably is no incentive to make the effort to be anything but barely acceptable. Feel that the pricing is way out of line. However, if the food and table settings were in line with the pricing, then that would be another story.
If we stay at the Gaylord again, definitely would not eat at the Moors.
It was a very nice dinner. The food we ordered was good however; they didn’t have too many options. This is not a restaurant for someone who doesn’t like ‘fish’. I am a big fan of scallops and shrimp and lobster but, they only had 1 dish that suit my needs. It was delicious though. Enjoyed it very much. Hope you get a chance to try it out.
We were seated in a very busy location (a walkway area ) on a holiday weekend. I asked not to be seated there and the hostess would not move us
The restaurant is in an outstanding indoor setting that looks like you are sitting on a wooden ship overlooking a pond with large ocean fish swimming around. The food is very good (especially the mini-desserts!), the service was excellent. The only downside was the sun beaming directly into everyone's eyes as it went down for the evening -- there were no shades, and it was very distracting. The food was a little pricey, but worth it for the total experience.
We made reservations in advance. We arrived a few minutes early and there were no other parties waiting. There were several open tables. The host advised they just needed to clean a tabletop for our party. We had to wait 25 minutes before we were shown to our table.
The food was good, but the server barely checked that we were ok. Our drinks were never re-filled. Compared to the level of service we received throughout the rest of the resort, this restaurant was extremely disappointing.
Fantastic venue and great service. Very pricy which lets it down a little
Said at Moore was AMAZING ! Such a wonderful and attentive server. He made our dinner exceptional ! Please recognize your outstanding employe
Food was overly priced and VERY small portions. I got the seafood pasta for $37 and it was literally 5 bites of pasta.
Limited on the actual fish they have nightly... we saw the menu & assumed all listed would be available. This is not so only a few were. Assumed also no kids menu, but later saw there was! Wish we would have been offered, our son had to have an adult dinner. Pricey
We were at the Gaylord Palms for a convention. Our dinner at Moor was a great experience. We sat at the bar for a short wait for a table on the boat. The bartenders were great describing the menu. The setting, service, and food were all excellent. We both had fish dishes which were so fresh and delicious. Service was perfectly timed.
Food was OK but overpriced for what it was, pleasant waitstaff.
Food was excellent. The wait was a little long, and they did not have a lot of the fish on the menu but was still good. The chairs aren’t comfortable, if that matters. The setting was amazing. If you have kids you might want to bring a frisbee or something to play with while waiting because right outside they have a big area of turf with lights on it. Not noisy at all. WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!
Food was terrible....Steak was fatty and undercooked for medium well (Very bloody and just warm). Made reservation buy was not seated upon arrival, Was told by the host that it would be a few but the couple that was waiting before us said they had been there for at least 20.....we waited about 15 before we were told to "follow me" with no apology. Server was nice and helpful but food was not worth the price....Felt like a Chili's or Applebee's experience
We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The wait staff was attentive and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
It was very noisy when we arrived and the staff did a great job moving us to a quiet part of the restaurant! It was very much appreciated.
The service was prompt and friendly.
The food was prepared well and good portions.
We sat just outside the interior restaurant and the music was echoing out to where it was hard for us to have a conversation. It would also help if you had some sort of buffer between the inside noise and those tables just outside the entrance, or ask if a business meeting then put those parties on the boat further away from everything.
Service and food were great - so other complaints.
Had a planned on a nice business lunch at Moor, but it was horrible. Staff ill-prepared for busy business lunch crowd, manager not award that food wasn't coming out on time. Restaurant wasn't even that busy on the day that we were there. No staff coordination on chores to keep food and drinks flowing. Complaint to the waiter did nothing, had to get the manager involved before issue was addressed. It's a beautiful location but the organization needs to retrained on how to right the ship. #majorfail
Server was good, but service for seating is low even with a reservation and once we ordered to when food arrived was even slower. Food was great, but a bit expensive for what you get.
Ana K was amazing! We asked for the best table in the house and got to eat supper on the ship. Wooden chairs were a little uncomfortable but not unbearable - maybe a suggestion for future...
Our table had seafood eaters and non-seafood eaters and Ana was able to recommend something for us all. Didn’t even have room for dessert.
Awesome service and great atmosphere . Teenagers really loved the boat!
All the above, except everyday.
Was a wonderful meal with top level ambiance and service.
I made a reservation for 7 pm , showed up early at 630 pm to wait on my party to arrive. We decided to wait at the bar and asked to be seated outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, was told that was no problem since there was no one outside at all. when i was notified that out table was ready i walked up to the desk and was promptly told that since a total of four tables had been sat outside out waitress was probably going to be slammed and our wait to be waited on would probably be delayed?! and they gave us the option of being sat inside. I was very disappointed but took the table inside as we were ready to eat. We waited for another 30 mins before someone came to our table to pour us water and tell us that they were not our server and someone else would be coming over. another 10 mins go by..... i walked up to the front desk and addressed the problem to the receptionist which was met with a blank stare and a bland "i'm sorry". No "let me resolve this problem, no let me get the manager, no nothing" Finally a very flustered but sweet waitress came over and took our orders and was as prompt as she could be with getting our food to us. Why was there not another waitress assigned to the outside patio if the current waitress was being overwhelmed? uh DUH? This is not rocket science people. We come to many conferences and trade shows at the Gaylord properties and this was very off par. Th restaurant was not slammed at all, many open tables and wait staff standing around staring at us ? I had to warn my clients to think twice about going to this restaurant due to the inept management. The food was fantastic so at least that was some consolation.
Moot was unprepared for the number of reservations the had. We waited 1 hour for dinner. Fish was excellent, sides were under cooked and not edible. The restaurant comped the meal, which was nice but didn’t make up for a wasted dinner experience.
Very hard and uncomfortable chairs.
Extremly limited menue.
Need flashlight to read the menu.
Very hungry but no welcoming tidbits offered.
No potatoes offered. Only fat fries or broccoli.
No medley vegetables.
Served local beer in a very small wine glass.
Had to wait long for water re-fill.
Very expensive for very small portions and poor service.
Asked for additional sauce and arrived 25 minutes later when fish was gone.
We had a wonderful meal at Moor—much better than we expected from a hotel restaurant! The fish was so fresh and perfectly prepared, the risotto of the day was yummy and our cocktails were great! Even my teens happily finished their grilled wahoo and swordfish and are asking to go back. Recommend highly!
We had a delightful server who was knowledgeable about the menu. The fish varies each day by what has been caught. The golden tile fish was fresh and expertly prepared. I would love to go back again.
The menu is rather small and limited as are the portions. I ordered the pompano which is one of the fresh catches of the day, and I wasn't a fan. Didn't seem very fresh. I asked how they recommended preparing it and the waiter said pan seared which is how I ordered it. It was very salty and served over risotto which was cold in spots. The atmosphere was nice but the dinner was not worth the money we paid.
The entire resort was outstanding, MOOR was incredible. They gave my date a flower since it was Valentine’s Day to start off, they were able to accommodate me with some dietary restrictions that I have, and my date LOVED her dish. Our waitress was outstanding, she recommended the perfect dishes for us. The Florida old fashioned I had with dinner was the best cocktail I’ve ever had. Over all incredible experience.
I expected a little more from this restaurant as we have visited Villa de Flora on numerous occasions and Old Hickory a while ago. While the seating at the boat area was nice and we were welcomed warmly by the hostess with a smile and a rose for Valentines, the service was “meh” as was my entree. We had cocktails which were prepared nicely and deviled eggs which were delicious. I ordered the red grouper with beurre Blanc sauce and salad. My husband ordered the red snapper with beurre Blanc sauce and risotto. The entrees arrived without sauce. We asked for our sauce and it arrived but it was watery and cold. His snapper and risotto had a nice taste and was well seasoned. My grouper was low in taste, even with the beurre Blanc and lemon. The salad was fresh but also lack in seasoning. The cheesecake was ok, the coffee not as good as in the other 2 restaurants.
The service was s-l-o-w and they didn’t seem to very super busy. Will not return to this one.
