MOOR at Gaylord Palms Resort Ratings and Reviews
Table service was OK, but bar service was not. They ran out the wine my wife was drinking and instead of letting her choose something else they substituted a cheaper (very bad) wine. When we complained they again served something completely different, still not telling us they had run out the first choice. Situation could have been handled much more professionally. Not how an upscale (bar should be run.
The food was just ok. Vegetables were awful and fish dry.
The waiter never came back to fill water glasses or ask about another cocktail ?
We asked at one point what time are they closing because we felt their no interest in our table.
We will not return or recommend. Sorry
Food was terrible, had better/fresher fish at Red Lobster. Was supposed to be fresh off the boat Wa-hoo, more like fresh off the bus after being caught a week ago. Then it was over cooked. Wife's pasta was undercooked. Very disappointed especially for the price. On the positive side the bar was nice and the cocktails were very good
We reserved our table and requested to sit on the “boat” we were sat quickly and they made it happen for the boat! Our server Ms. Coraier was absolutely fantastic. She made the visit unbelievably great. But when it came to the food (except the soup, that was what Coraier recommended, and it was GREAT) the food was HORRIBLE. Besides the fact that it took forever to receive our food, the tables around us were seated after, they ordered after and received theirs first. We went through three groups around us before we received our food... when we received it, it was HORRIBLE. Coraier was extremely embarrassed over the situation and tried to go above and beyond to accommodate us. (We understood it was not her fault and never complained). For it to advertised as a “high class restaurant” the clothing that people had on was just very uncanny. The restaurant gave a description of what to wear, yet people were dressed like they were ready for bed, or like they were just out of the pool. But the restaurant was clean, the servers and of course mainly Ms Coraier were all great. The boat was cool and very pleasing to the eyes. Over all, the food was disgusting, disappointing, and really NOT worth the money. I hope Ms Coraier is treated great she would be the ONLY reason to return
My wife and I visited Moor because we had dined there last year. We like the food and relaxed pace. The service is attentive without being intrusive. An added bonus this year was that my wife left her purse at the restaurant and they had found it and returned it to our room that very same night! Most grateful.
I explained to my waiter that the fish on the fish and chip meal was not completely done. They were doughy underneath a crunchy outside. I had no problem paying for the meal, however, I would have thought a manager would have greeted me at the table so I could express my concerns. That didn't take place.
We had a reservation and asked to sit on the boat upon arrival. The hostess said that wasn't a problem, then waited for more than half the boat to empty before seating our family of 4. Thought that was odd. Waiter was amazing at first. He was very attentive, knew the specials, and made wonderful recommendations. The food was incredible! Then the waiter didn't return for 30 min. We waited so long for the check. Finally received it, and he never returned, so we left $120 cash on the table. Weird ending to a delicious meal. I'd suggest you get food to go if you're staying at the hotel like we were.
It’s been years since I’ve been here. I almost didn’t return due to the recent reviews I read. I decided I had to see for myself and boy am I glad I did! The she crab soup was absolutely amazing and the crab cake sandwich was very flavorful. The service was great. We had a reservation at 5. We were seated at 5:04 on the boat as requested. The prices were nothing near what I thought I was going to dish out. Over all fantastic experience. Will be going back during our stay at Gaylord Palms.
This restaurant had terrible service, and got our food wrong three times. Plus, they set the table with plastic place mats that carry bacteria and smelled bad and were sticky. Yuck. There is no way that was sanitary. I spoke to the manager about these things and he just said, "Would you like some antibacterial gel?" Gross, as if that would make things better. Plus, food is very expensive and the quality is bad. I am a restaurant owner, so I understand food quality and service... and I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody that I knew. YUCK. The only nice thing is the atmosphere because it is on a ship that overlooks a pool of fish.
Restaurant has potential to be really nice, but the ambiance was lacking. We were seated way too close to the hostess stand and found ourselves right next to the waiting line, where we heard everybody's conversation. Food was just OK. Fish was nicely seasoned and properly cooked, but the risotto resembled library paste.
It was a fantastic experience , we loved it so much that we ended up going to the Moor every night of our stay for dinner. Unfortunately, the shrimp cocktail we had ordered on the first night was unavailable for the rest of our trip, we replaced it with the great crab flatbread. A must have is definitely the swordfish.
Service was bad- our plates were never cleared before dinner. Had about 20 plates sitting at our table. And we never received refills. And we never got our kids drinks till they were finished with dinner.
There risotto I bland. Expect more flavor and amazingness when spending $36 a plate! Not impressed.
My compliment would be ... all the salads are great.
We traveled 1 1/2 hours to get to this dinner event with friends. We were on time. We had a reservation for 7pm, but our party of 5 was not seated until almost 7:30pm. This was disappointing seeing that there were open tables. Once seated, our server was very attentive and the food was very good.
waitress was completely uninviting. First meal I ordered was not available unless I agreed to accept a smaller piece of fresh catch. Would not accommodate requests To the second meal I ordered. Could not answer basic questions regarding ingredients or the way a dish was prepared. Had to request new fries as the ones that came on the plate were cold. Never brought lemons, extra dressing, or water to the table despite being asked. Very disappointed
Christina Agustin the restaurant manager was very unprofessional, wouldn’t approach our table after we asked to speak with her and sent our waitress Ling to tell us to go to the front desk if I had a problem. After waiting a really long time for food and putting in my kids order as soon as we got there, the adult food came out before the kids, had to wait an additional 20 mins for them to eat, mind you my child is a diabetic! Drink that was ordered came out after the meal was done even after we told waitress to bring out before the meal got there and I specifically made advanced reservations to celebrate a birthday which was never acknowledged! Service was horrible, we were very disappointed and we’ve been to this restaurant a few times. Director of food and beverages returned my call to apologize, was told I would receive a call back from him to see if he can fix this, but never got a call back and that was that smh.
We ate here on Christmas Day and chose this establishment as it was supposedly a fish restaurant. Very disappointed. Of the four fish dishes (not shell fish) on the menu one was not available. We opted for the salmon. From the taste we could have been eating anything. Although moist the fish was solid and did not flake. This dish was served with risotto and asparagus which was tasteless. The asparagus, what there was of it, was chopped up in the risotto but no top spears were evident. Choice of vegetables was carrots and grape tomatoes!!!
Expected this to be a high end restaurant which clearly it wasn't; worst Christmas Day meal ever.
The surroundings were superb and we had seating on the schooner which was lovely but did not make up for the awful food. Also our waitress was attentive and good.
Went for Christmas dinner. Booked the table a month back and asked for table on the boat. The hostess was miserable no greeting nothing. When we told her we asked for a table on the boat she said no tables were available when half the tables were empty. The server was very nice and food was good. Once we finished our meal and looked at the boat half the tables were still empty. Very disappointing service will not dine there again.
The menu selection is very limited. It took more than 25 mins to wait for our check. Looks like there was no team work among staff since we told a host and another waiter if they could let our waiter know we’re ready to check out. We end up walking to the receptionist before our waiter showed up.
My wife and I were greeted and served by Michelle L. She was absolutely the best server we have had since we have been coming to the GAYLORD. Professional, very outgoing young lady with a purpose of going the extra mile for the customer. I noticed that while she was attending to other people she never took her eyes away from us. Patient, gracious, never a loss for words. We could tell right off the bat she was the server we had hoped for. Even before we taken to our table. I also understand that she is a seasonal employee. I will tell the GAYLORD Management this much. It would behoove the GAYLORD management to obtain Michelle L on a permanent basis. We truly hope and believe that she will be promoted when the time is right. What an asset Michelle L is to the GAYLORD family.
My daughter & I had very good entrees however my husband & son in law had the prime rib. It wasn't hot so was sent back. On return it was a thick piece of meat with gravy. It was very tough & not chewable. We had an excellent waiter who sympathized & took the two meals off the bill. The waiter had been very personable all evening.
