MOOR at Gaylord Palms Resort Ratings and Reviews
After making sure we had a reservation, we were told that we weren’t guaranteed a spot on the boat. We would have to wait 30 minutes for a table there. So, we decided to go ahead in the dining room. Our table, and most in the dining room, was in direct path to the kitchen. Servers were hurrying in and out constantly bumping our chairs. I finally pulled a chair behind me to block my path. We paid 32$ for shrimp and grits. 4 shrimp and maybe a cup of grits.
The only great thing was our server who kept an eye on us and made sure we were ok.
I would say if you want local seafood, go off property.
The menu was the most limited I have ever seen. Food was ok at best, came quickly. Service was good until we waited forever for check and almost missed the show we paid thousands for a room to see. Would have been great if there were more than 10 items on the menu. We stay at Gaylord all the time and will never go back to this restaurant. Sorry
Our server gave a great menu presentation and was very friendly, I believe she was British. However, it will be the last time we visit this restaurant. We paid five star prices, for food that was two star quality. I asked the server in advance if she could make sure my pasta is hot, not only mine but everyone's food(8 people) came out cold. After I sent my pasta back to be re-heated, it came out less than two minutes later luke warm. If I had to guess they probably just put sauce on top and sent it back out. The fries and burgers and flatbreads were cold and not even close to warm. It seems as if the food is pre made and just thrown together or it had been sitting at expo for a long time. I work in the food service industry myself and I have a hard time understanding how the kitchen managed to send out every single item cold after we waited on a 25-30 minute order. I could be more understanding if the restaurant was busy, but there were only about ten tables in total.
Had a 5PM reservation in order to make the 6:30 Cirque Show, ordered promptly and my grandson received his food and finished prior to us receiving our. After asking several times to just bring our salad ....45 minutes later they brought the entire dinner. My husband and I both order different types of fish, my was so OVERCOOKED and DRY that I could not eat and half of my salad should have been thrown out in the garbage not put in bowl.
Menu options were slim to none. Ended up getting fish and chips. Batter was soggy inside and somewhat crunchy outside. Fish was very fishy (too fishy to be as fresh as we were told it was), dip was weird at best served with sliced pickles and very hard crunchy cracker like things. Best part of the meal was the wine. But that was $17 for a GLASS. Wouldn't suggest to anyone else.
Everytime we dine here I am amazed at how good the food is as well as the service. Whenever someone comes to town I immediately suggest dining and visiting Gaylord palms especially at this time of the year. We visited ICE and enjoyed it much better than last year. The decorations for the Holidays were spectacular. Would love to stay there sometime. Please send me info on special sales for Florida Residents. Thanks
The staff was very attentive. The reservation was made at the Moor because we thought it would be fun to dine on a sailboat. It was a relaxing atmosphere, quiet enough for conversation. The food was okay but not impressive. Upon arriving the most disappointing aspect of the experience was that the menu on the website was not the menu offered when we arrived. We had one person in the party that is not a seafood eater and therefore the menu was checked out beforehand and there were pork chops and bbq pulled pork besides the usual hamburger. When the menu was different we were told this was a special, seasonal menu during the "ICE" exhibition. This information should have been announced on the restaurant's website.
This restaurant is so cute and cozy and we were so excited to eat here! Unfortunately, we found it to be grossly overpriced with very small portions. Party of 4 and two of the 4 got appetizers for main meals and the bill was nearly $200!! I don't mind paying for great food but this food was mediocre and overpriced.
Wish we were seated in the boat , not sure why we weren't when there was seating available and I made my reservations a long time in advance. But , we had a nice quiet table. Service was good and the menu was great.1st time trying this venue , wish we had tried it sooner.
We had our family Thanksgiving at Moors as we were guests in the hotel. We are cape canaveral residents, so we are locals. We had a very nice experience, good healthy food and the entire staff was friendly. There were 4 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 8 yrs. we would dine there again and recommend it without hesitation.
Good - Servers were knowledgeable and attentive. Food was a fair amount and cooked well, however, nothing fancy.
Things that could be better - There were lots of small children at 6PM. Chairs were hard and uncomfortable. Napkins were old and looked like what some resorts supply on a golf cart.
Bad - There is NO dress code whatsoever.
Very disappointed in the meal and experience at Moor, one of the two featured restaurants at Gaylord Palms. Food was overpriced for very ordinary, with Mkt. Rate ($36) charged for fresh catch that was grouper both unseasoned and poorly grilled. My wife's entree had to be sent back, the first time she's ever done that.
Setting is interesting in the sailboat, but restaurant is pretty loud and chairs at the table were uncomfortable. Kind waiter staff tried to do what they could, but back of the house could not deliver.
Much like the hotel, high prices seemed to be geared for unsuspecting tourists or carefree folks on a business expense account.
