I had heard great things about Moonstones - the reality was so disappointing and overpriced.... the sangria was watery and not great, the meatballs (which were $9.50 for 4 little meatballs with a small amount of rice and curry sauce) were frozen not fresh made; the buffalo calamari were simply frozen pre-battered squid- zero flavor except for the buffalo hot sauce and blue cheese sprinkled over it. The dessert sampler pastry case for lemon pie was pre made, the sugar top of the creme brulee was wafer thin. Good things were the Mussels with chorizo, Spring rolls, Asian slow cooked ribs and the Vietnamese Bao buns - all excellent.
We met with friends who hadn't been to Moonstones yet. They loved it and we all had a great time.
Excellent in all respects. Great dishes beautifully prepared. Highly recommended.
The best service! Part of our party was delayed getting into Logan and the staff were very accommodating...
I would definitely recommend and will return.
The huevos rancheros were delicious!! We had a great brunch. It is pricey, but yummy.
Phenomenal. Lovely atmosphere. Great selection. Love the truffle fries, the short rib and the chicken tagine.
Went to Moonstones for Easter Dinner. Was very pleasant atmosphere, good food and service.
Easter brunch menu was mouth-wateringly delicious, albeit a bit pricey, but we enjoyed every bite!
Great ambiance. As an executive chef myself, I would confidently recommend Moonstones to friends and peers.
Outstanding food, beer, and service
Food is very good quality and presented very nicely.
Service was friendly but professional and very quick.
We love Moonstones and go several times a month for lunch, brunch or dinner.
The food was amazing we did five plates our first three arrived promptly hot and delicious and then there was an awkward Lala 20 minutes with our server disappearing and then our last two dishes arrived with really no apology and just kind of awkwardness will definitely be going back though just a weird experience
Very good service, The mushroom risotto was excellent
Try the beet ravioli, frozen grapes, and scallops!
Dinner with the boss the other night. My expectations were pretty high which could explain part of the disappointment that the food wasn't better. Love tapas but these were lacking in inventiveness and creativity. Meat balls only so-so, calliflower bland, mussels were sandy with grit in nearly bite. Server was excellent. Wine was pretty good. Probably won't be back.
Everything was yummy! Started with the donut. It’s definit big enough to share! Latkes were yummy and shareable as well. The farmhouse bowl was amazing. My Bellini and coffee were lovely as well.
Great Brunch - Chef's donut was amazing. All of the food was fantastic. Great space and nice atmosphere. Staff was incredibly attentive and warm from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. Give an option for bottomless mimosa bar and they'd hit it out of the park.
The food and the service were both wonderful! What a great surprise to find such a fabulous restaurant way out in the ‘burbs. Can’t wait to go back!
It was great and we had a nice table for two but it was noisy - hard to hear each other - I think the chairs didn't allow us to be closer (?). Food and service were excellent. We felt a little rushed but I had read about the 2 hour limit so we were ok.
We had a wonderful experience here. Everything from the elegant ambience to the professional and friendly service was outstanding. Moonstones have a divine selection of foods and drinks and every dish that we ordered was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an elegant dining experience.
Drinks, food, and service were awesome!! Really nice atmosphere. Perfect for date night or birthday party.
There were 5 of us and we were seated in the circular table on the main floor which was perfect. Our waitress Alexis was very attentive even though it was a busy night. We had a number of small plates to start, which are always good. The mango habanero wings have quite the kick to them. There was a steak special that was phenomenal and you can never go wrong with the Steak Frites. All and all we had a great evening.
My new favorite local place. Love the food and the prices. We went for "Buck Chuck" oysters but I have to say, the oysters had no flavor. Bar guy said they were trying a new vendor. I wouldn't try those again.....
Otherwise all four at the table were happy people.
Moonstones has taken the Spanish "tapas" idea and given it a fun, international kick. Small plates of creative well prepared food to be shared among those at the table make for an enjoyable meal and a great opportunity for fellowship. Service is sometimes a little slow, but the plates are often brought out one at a time so focus can be on each new dish, so it must be difficult to keep things moving and have the next plate ready as soon as the last one is finished. Very accessible, right of the highway.
Really cool ambiance. Sat at the bar. Service was a little slow as the bartenders were understandably very busy on a Sat. night. Oysters were great. Ordered several small plates which were avg. The quality of the projection tv on the wall could be improved. No hurry to return, but will give it another chance.
First time and we had a nice dinner with great service! Love all the Tapas we shared lots of yummy dishes!
The food was good and our order came in less than 10 minutes. We were seated in the bar which was noisy but other seating was not available due to groups reserving a room.
in so many restaurants, it is hard to hear the people sitting at the same table. Moonstones has done a phenomenal job with noise reduction. Love the Tapas selection and the variety is amazing! Excellent service, wonderful desserts and beverages, as well as desserts. Bit pricey but worth it!
Service was great , sat in booth in bar area quite enough to have conversation without raising your voice
The tuna tataki has n salt block is a must
Love the tapas menu
Nice wines by the glass
Great food topped with excellent service! We go there every few months and it is always a great experience!
The first impression, which was only lunch, is between 3 and 4 star. Service was great...my waiter kept a keen eye out and recognized that we were having an intense business discussion. When I needed him to interrupt to take orders I juts caught his eye and he came right over. Food was good...I wish I could have sampled the raw bar which looked impressive. Tuna Poke needed a bit more depth in flavor but very fresh fish. Anyone staying in the Best Western next door is very lucky to have that gem to walk over to!
Food and service was exceptional. Menu was small and a little pricey. I had a mimosa and it was perfect. The decor was warm and inviting.
Tapas menu was interesting. Frozen grapes was a nice surprise. We ordered 10 tapas...I appreciated that they bought out dishes in waves vs together. Felt like a treat. Interior was lovely and while it wasn't busy on the evening that we went, i would recommend the glass room with the high back chairs if you are a party of < 5 to minimize the noise levels from the 2 bars.
As always, everything we had here was excellent, starting with drinks, on to many small plates, and finishing with dessert. Very nice atmosphere with excellent service.
This was our first time at moonstones. We really enjoyed our experience here. We came here for New Year’s eve dinner. The food Was absolutely delicious & fresh. Service was on point . Our waitress was friendly she made the dining experience fun. Service with a smile. We even had an opportunity to meet the owner of this restaurant. Which I was kind of surprised with because he was going around all the tables making sure everybody was happy and satisfied . This impressed me very much because you never have an owner come to your table while your dining, usually it’s like the general manager that stops bye . The owner was very friendly , you could tell he truly cares about his employees , and his customers . Definitely will be back to dine at moonstones .
We are at Moonstones this last New Year’s Eve. The food is always quite good there. I had the steak frites which was prepared well. My spouse had the chicke Tagine (sp?). It was fantastic. Really unique flavors. The wait staff was very attentive although not overbearing. Deserts were good as well. I recommend should you something a little more eclectic than usual. Kudos to them.
Homemade Focaccia with roasted garlic and olive oil outstanding. We will be returning for the special eggplant dish. A little spice, a lot of flavor.
