About Moonstones

Created by the owners of long standing restaurant COBBLESTONES of Lowell;
Moonstones is named for the pearly moon-like precious gem and oyster native to New England. Moonstones celebrates global bonds—the moon, the sea, the love of food, wine and revelry. We invite you to celebrate with us the worldly influence in all elements ranging from our local, creative raw bar selections, to our tapas
designed for sharing life with friends in mind, to the bread we bake fresh each day to accompany our ‘crostini’ selections. Our creative cocktail menu draws inspiration from various international favorites, as does the carefully selected beer and wine list.
Our design seeks to promote celebration, or just relaxation, in a local, sophisticated atmosphere to chill with friends. Think global, eat local.

I met a good friend and Moonstones was a great location as we live a state apart,
There was some problem with the grill that day so menu options were limited.
However, service and atmosphere terrific...will definitely return.

I love this restaurant! The food is amazing! We went for our anniversary on a Monday night and it was quiet and romantic. I’ve also been when it’s busier and it has a fun atmosphere. My favorite is the baby beet salad and the scallop tapas.

Tapas are real good, but can be pricy if this is all you order to eat (more than 5 eg.). Worth the splurge though.

We were there to get together with a friend and cberate my daughter's birthday. The service was spot on. We got our food and drinks in a timely manner and never felt rushed. All our food was delicious, in particular the frozen grapes, mac & cheese, and the chicken korma meatballs. My husband wanted to take home a vat of the mac& cheese sauce. Overall a very pleasant evening. Look forward to returning.

took my adult daughter and fiance' - shared some of the tapas choices, while adding a burger entree and salad. All of it was excellent; Lyndsey who waited on us could not have been more helpful and attentive. The manager also inquired how we were faring; could not have been happier with food, beer and wine selections, atmosphere, etc.

We arrived early, ~5:30 to accommodate our schedules and they seated my daughter, then us at the lone table in a section of about 15 tables. Within 5-7 minutes, they then seated a group of six at the table next to us. Why do restaurants do this? Give people a little time of quiet before being pushed together!! Oh, well!

It was excellent; far quieter then I recalled, even when our section filled up.

Our overall experience was good. Our night hit a snafu upon arrival. We had an 8:00 reservation but didn’t get seated until 8:45. It was at that point I requested to sit in the bar. There were two reservations for 8 and apparently there were three tables who had paid their bill but were just sitting taking up space. Once we did sit the manager took our order and brought us a free plate to start with. It would’ve been better if he asked us what we would like because although it was a lovely presentation, my husband and I don’t eat beets and that’s all there was to this dish. At the end of the night we got a free dessert for our anniversary and complimentary dessert wine. The food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. I am sure this doesn’t happen often and we were taken care of the best way possible given the circumstances

Service was a little slow for my taste. There was a lot of waiting. The food was great with a fun, comfortable atmosphere. The Banh Mi sliders were a little misleading. They were delicious, but definitely not Banh Mi. Banh Mi are served on baguette rather than steamed buns (the word Banh Mi refers to a baguette) and it had very little picked veggies, which to me is the hallmark of a Banh Mi. But they were great little Asian inspired sliders. Nice heat and tender beef.

Had a phenomenal date night at Moonstones with my girlfriend. We started with a pitcher of their Rose Sangria and a couple oysters. Next we moved on to a selection of Tapas including the Patatas Bravas, a complimentary buffalo calimari and our personal favorite the Korean BBQ Pork Sliders. The food was amazing, environment was cozy and classy and our service was second to none. At first we were expecting to spend an arm and a leg but eventually found ourselves stuffed after only a few of the tapas dishes. We will definitely be coming back very soon.

I took my wife and in-laws out for my wife's birthday at Moonstones and was pleasantly surprised with how the overall vibe was but also the intuition of the waitress to know exactly when I needed another drink and when to not push for a quantity experience but a quality experience in every direction.

I have brought different family members and friends, as I feel they can experience the tapas menu and the amounts are small, but each one is unique in taste. it's an opportunity to try different foods and to share with your guest. Service has been great also.

Excellent tapas, salads and meals. A couple of our tapas items were quite delayed. The others at our table had already finished their meals and had to wait for us. Very nice setting and convenient off of Route 495. Pleasant staff

My friends and I love coming here for brunch! The draw is the red velvet pancakes, but really, there is so much more. Love that Moonstones has a creative brunch menu. Two of us got the Bubbly Breakfast and one got the aforementioned red velvet pancakes. Everything was delicious. Love that Moonstones offers French Pressed Coffee, which we ordered. We also split dessert, which was a crispy cheesecake with a yummy preserve. Wait staff is friendly, professional, and courteous.

And I received a follow up call today to ask how our experience was!! Top Notch!! Thank you!!

Excellent selection of good quality and interesting tapas; very good service but pricy.
Try the truffle fries and the rissoto; both are excellent to the point of being standard setting!
Very lovely hostess and wait staff.
Ample parking.

Went to celebrate something special. Had to leave when we found the "moonhattan" to be a watered down version of previous ones and when after 30 minutes our cold app of burrata and 3 slices of tomato had not been delivered to the table because according to our server "they are preparing a seafood tower (read $$$) for another table". There were maybe 5 tables occupied and our server was busy cleaning or stocking behind the bar. The general manager got busy only after we said we were leaving. Will still celebrate, just not there.

The food and restaurant never fail, however, the service has really gone down. It was extremely slow and clearly understaffed. We were there for Father's Day brunch - most diners that day had reservations, so management should have been more prepared with the amount of waitstaff on hand. Had to ask for water more than once, after drinks were dropped off, it was at least 20 minutes before our server came back to take food orders. It's a shame because there really isn't another restaurant in the area that has the same type of ambiance, but the service will make me rethink going there.

The only drawback on this visit was that the service was too quick. We felt like we were speed eating. Our seating was at 8pm and there was no rush to turn the table over so I'm not quite sure why this happened. We ordered 4-5 tapas and they were clearing each plate before we had a chance to finish so they could put down the next one. I had to stop them twice so we could take the last piece of calamari or use the cocktail sauce to dip the shrimp in. When we ordered we stated we did not want them all at once. Next time we will order only one at a time and pace the meal ourselves.
