Excellent customer service. Good food and drinks
Place was packed. Nice decor. Menu interesting, but limited. They also had small plates which we will try next time. Service was very slow, but that may been intentionally paced. Planning to go back in the near future.
was a little loud. sat next to a hot fire. felt good at first but then began to get real toasty. food was very tasty. service was a little slow, but they had a big group in the same room. I would go again.
Pros: Excellent service by Lindsay
Excellent Joe Burger and fries
Very good beer recommendation (Tucher Hefeweisen)
Cons: On the pricey side
Mixed greens salad w/candied pecans & grapes (did they forget to add those?)
Caesar salad croutons (worst anywhere ever!)
Chianti glazed meatballs (overcooked and dry)
Bottomline: Possible revisit for special occasion with group.
Not suitable for romantic or intimate dining.
Not regularly affordable for the average joe.
Although Moonstones serves regular entrees, we went small plates instead. We had an assortment (Moonstones has a wide variety of cuisines fom which to choose), and I highly recommend the meatballs and the prosciutto with figs. For dessert, have whatever th chocolate thing is - absolutely fantastic! Service was very nice, and although the bar was loud, we'll definitely be back!
better out there! terrible managed. reservations at 7:30 and we sat at 8:15. No longer at our to dine at.
We have been before and the menu is now feeling repetitive. The music was too loud for 6pm (more suitable for a bar than a restaurant). There was also a cold draft every time the outside door opened so it was hard to get comfortable. Our particular waitress was not very competent.
The food and ambiance are great. Nice selection of tapas, apps and entrees....great raw bar. Nice drink menu..wine list was only fair. Plenty of free on site parking. Service was only fair...our server was not knowledgeable and unable to answer basic questions on the food and drink menu. He also disappeared for long periods of time. I would give it another try.
The food was great but we where looking more for a late lunch early dinner on a Sunday at 2:30. The Bloody Mary bar was a welcome surprise. There was limited menu that was not "breakfast" brunch, I thought the food would disappoint but.. not true the Bolognese was very good, flavorful sauce and delicate pasta. The burgers were also good and the fries exceptional. Our friend enjoyed her omelet
and we will be back a little earlier next time to try red velvet pancakes.
Always great cocktails and dinner! It's a bit of a hidden gem I think. Great Date night place. Staff can be a bit odd.
This was our first time to Moonstones and we had a wonderful time and the food was very good.
Food was fair and service the same. I been here a whole bunch of times. Just seems to be so-so no matter what I have ordered, service is the same.
Our server was fantastic. I wish I could remember his name because I would recommend him to everybody. The food was terrific as well. I would not recommend the baby artichoke tapa however. It is laden with green beans and almost no artichokes. The rest of the food from the oysters to the meatballs were exquisite. Great experience all around.
I will definitely come back here. The food was excellent and the waitstaff was great!
I've been going to Moonstone's once a month for almost two years and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
What a great experience we had for the third time, we have enjoyed this restaurant for special dinners and have not been disappointed. The wonderful service started at the front door, we were early for our reservation and were seated in the lounge for a drink and quickly severed. Our waiter at the table did a great job and did not rush us through the dining experience; the food was excellent and was price appropriately.
As always the food is quite good, but the prices are insane for Chelmsford MA. I'd go to this restaurant much more if the prices were in line with the location and dining. The prices are high end Boston prices and they simply don't deliver that experience.
Sometimes Valentine Day dinners can be less than memorable. However, we were pleasantly surprised at Moonstones. We started with mock cocktails which we both enjoyed. We tried two appetizers...the mini fondue and poached pears. While the the pears were fine the fondue was to die for. I'd go back just to have the fondue. The best was yet to come. My wife and I shared the Surf and Turf which consisted of two filets, two half lobsters and two potato egg rolls. Everything was delicious and I do not normally like potato. The only disappointing part of the meal was the dessert. We shared the Zeppole. They were too cake like. We will definitely return to Moonstones!!!
This was our first time at Moonstones and it was wonderful. I noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and we were given a wonderful table by the fireplace--very romantic. The service was fantastic and the platter for two was a perfect way to sample the variety on the menu. We'll definitely back and look forward to enjoying the bar.
Food is good here. However only complaint is that was not seated at reservation time. Sat 45minutes after reservation time. Host was very nice and bar drinks removed from bill
Had to rush meal had other plans.
We have now been to Moonstones 4 times and have always enjoyed our meals and dining experience. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and never feel rushed to order or leave. Small plates offer some really neat food options and one of these times we will just order a bunch of those in lieu of a full dinner.
We really enjoy their sister restaurant, Cobblestones, in Lowell so we had to check this place out.
When you first walk in, the ambiance in really striking. It's elegant, futuristic, classic and romantic all rolled into one. Very lovely. I was impressed.
We went for brunch with a group of 6 people and there was definitely something for everyone. The make-your-own bloody mary bar was a hit, the complimentary bottomless cup of coffee was much appreciated, and the food selections were everything from breakfast-y stuff like pancakes and eggs to flatbread pizza and Asian tofu dishes. They even have a raw bar ready to go, if you are into that.
Made a 7:30 reservation for a group of 4. Arrived an hour early to sit at the bar and have some drinks. The bar area is beautiful, not overly crowded, and would be perfect for eating dinner at the large bar. The drinks were so delicious and the bartender was friendly. We were seated on time. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The menu has a lot of diverse food options. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food. My salmon was very moist and flavorful. Can't wait to go back!
First time here, on NY Eve. We were greeted with warmth and friendliness and seated immediately. Tables are spaced well in many open area rooms. Oddly, the table was not set- there was a stack of small plates and a pile of silverware wrapped in napkins. I would have expected a nicely set table. Drink service was slow. Our waiter seemed a bit slow and did not take wine orders and had to be asked. There did not seem to be a wine list for bottles, just by the glass. The chicken and shrimp picatta was tasteless, the romaine gratinee was delicious. Those who ordered salmon were pleased. Overall B. Would try Moonstone again.
Service much improved since last visit; not as slow. A welcome change.
The appetizers and desserts were very good. My entree which was shrimp and chicken piccata was below average. Too salty and tasted like a frozen dinner. The service was excellent.
If you are like me and can't make up your mind what to order, or just like choices....Moonstones small plates is the perfect way to give your mouth an endless variety of perfection. The staff is experienced, knowledgeable and caring...all make for a great experience.
They changed menu recently and won us back. Pork belly is outstanding so as scallops.
Shrims tapas were a bit salty. Deserts are great, we had creme brule and coconut pudding- yammy!. Service is very attentive. Local gem, keep up the good work, Moonstones.
As this was at least our tenth visit to this restaurant, we were anticipating another enjoyable evening at Moonstones. Alas, the kitchen staff left their "A Game" at home! Three of four entrees were returned to the kitchen because they were so badly prepared. A tough, chewy smoked pork chop served on top of a tablespoon of runny polenta and six wilted spinach leaves was rendered inedible because it was so salty. Dry, lifeless Pad Thai and overly oily, salty chicken limone were returned to the kitchen barely touched. The restaurant manager generously presented us with gift certificates after crediting our bill for the three sub-par entrees!
The food here is always a taste experience. Fresh and well-presented. The service this time was not up to its own standard. Staff appeared overworked and very inattentive.
Food was okay - some of the tapas dishes, like the mussels, were good, some, like the meatballs, we're so so. The dessert sampler was nice. We arrived 15 min early for our reservation and we were invited to wait for the rest of our party at our table or the bar. We chose the bar. When they arrived, on time, we expected to be seated immediately and were told our table was now finishing dessert. I didn't feel that was right, and we ended up waiting and were finally offerred a table in the bar area or wait longer. We took the bar area table, which became very loud after a fashion. Table service was good. Not a repeat for us.
Or first time dining at Moonstones. It was excellent. We have already recommended the restaurant to our friends. We certainally will dine there again!
The service, food, and experience were all great. We've never had a bad experience at Moonstones!
I continue to enjoy the ecclectic menu; service is great. There truly is something for anyone at this place.
Brian our waiter was excelent, very attentive not overbearing, depending what you are in the mood for, this place with its hot/cold/tapas/regular menu/oyster bar allows you to achieve a complete pleasurable dinning experience.
Great tapas and menu.
The food were not good as we were expected.
We were very happy with our dinner here! It's an interesting mix of funky/modern and cozy. The outdoor patio seating looks absolutely wonderful! The food was fantastic. With so many choices I look forward to going back to try more.
We stuck to small plates. The patatas bravas and chourico were terrific. The corn chowder was not thick and chunky, but more soup-like; it's still delicious. The seared scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. I love the Moonhattan cocktail; we both had the Moonstones coffee for dessert.
We told the restaurant it was our anniversary; we got a table by the fireplace and glasses of champagne. Our server, Sean, was very nice and offered great advice. All the staff were very attentive and friendly.
I can't say enough good things about our experience here. Great food and the "small plates" make it easy to share. I would recommend this for a special night out - especially for "the girls."
Very good Food and service. Qty/value is very good as well.
