Moonstones Ratings and Reviews
Tapas menu was interesting. Frozen grapes was a nice surprise. We ordered 10 tapas...I appreciated that they bought out dishes in waves vs together. Felt like a treat. Interior was lovely and while it wasn't busy on the evening that we went, i would recommend the glass room with the high back chairs if you are a party of < 5 to minimize the noise levels from the 2 bars.
This was our first time at moonstones. We really enjoyed our experience here. We came here for New Year’s eve dinner. The food Was absolutely delicious & fresh. Service was on point . Our waitress was friendly she made the dining experience fun. Service with a smile. We even had an opportunity to meet the owner of this restaurant. Which I was kind of surprised with because he was going around all the tables making sure everybody was happy and satisfied . This impressed me very much because you never have an owner come to your table while your dining, usually it’s like the general manager that stops bye . The owner was very friendly , you could tell he truly cares about his employees , and his customers . Definitely will be back to dine at moonstones .
We are at Moonstones this last New Year’s Eve. The food is always quite good there. I had the steak frites which was prepared well. My spouse had the chicke Tagine (sp?). It was fantastic. Really unique flavors. The wait staff was very attentive although not overbearing. Deserts were good as well. I recommend should you something a little more eclectic than usual. Kudos to them.
One of our favorites...never disappoints!
We went with another couple and all shared tapas. Everything we ordered was excellent. Scallops, Focaccia, Pad Thai, Short Rib, Schezuan Eggplant, Potato Pancake, Pork Belly, Chocolate Pate and the Creme Brule. Yummy! We will be back!
This was our first time at Moonstones in a while and we were pleasantly surprised by the change in menu. The tuna tartare was excellent. The Faroe island salmon was cooked to perfection and my husband finished every morsel; notable for him. Definitely putting Moonstones on our go to list.
The seating was in the lounge. Perhaps because it was Sunday, the dining room may have been closed, but I've never seen anyone in the dining room there.
The drinks are excellent, including the wine selection. The Tapas menu is interesting but limited in selection. Food is well prepared.
It all adds up pretty quickly and we paid something like $45 per person with no dessert.
Lastly, there was a noisy party in the room. That didn't work for us. We might have stayed later and had dessert if they had kept them under control - but we didn't complain.
We were there to get together with a friend and cberate my daughter's birthday. The service was spot on. We got our food and drinks in a timely manner and never felt rushed. All our food was delicious, in particular the frozen grapes, mac & cheese, and the chicken korma meatballs. My husband wanted to take home a vat of the mac& cheese sauce. Overall a very pleasant evening. Look forward to returning.
took my adult daughter and fiance' - shared some of the tapas choices, while adding a burger entree and salad. All of it was excellent; Lyndsey who waited on us could not have been more helpful and attentive. The manager also inquired how we were faring; could not have been happier with food, beer and wine selections, atmosphere, etc.
We arrived early, ~5:30 to accommodate our schedules and they seated my daughter, then us at the lone table in a section of about 15 tables. Within 5-7 minutes, they then seated a group of six at the table next to us. Why do restaurants do this? Give people a little time of quiet before being pushed together!! Oh, well!
It was excellent; far quieter then I recalled, even when our section filled up.
Our overall experience was good. Our night hit a snafu upon arrival. We had an 8:00 reservation but didn’t get seated until 8:45. It was at that point I requested to sit in the bar. There were two reservations for 8 and apparently there were three tables who had paid their bill but were just sitting taking up space. Once we did sit the manager took our order and brought us a free plate to start with. It would’ve been better if he asked us what we would like because although it was a lovely presentation, my husband and I don’t eat beets and that’s all there was to this dish. At the end of the night we got a free dessert for our anniversary and complimentary dessert wine. The food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. I am sure this doesn’t happen often and we were taken care of the best way possible given the circumstances
Service was a little slow for my taste. There was a lot of waiting. The food was great with a fun, comfortable atmosphere. The Banh Mi sliders were a little misleading. They were delicious, but definitely not Banh Mi. Banh Mi are served on baguette rather than steamed buns (the word Banh Mi refers to a baguette) and it had very little picked veggies, which to me is the hallmark of a Banh Mi. But they were great little Asian inspired sliders. Nice heat and tender beef.
Had a phenomenal date night at Moonstones with my girlfriend. We started with a pitcher of their Rose Sangria and a couple oysters. Next we moved on to a selection of Tapas including the Patatas Bravas, a complimentary buffalo calimari and our personal favorite the Korean BBQ Pork Sliders. The food was amazing, environment was cozy and classy and our service was second to none. At first we were expecting to spend an arm and a leg but eventually found ourselves stuffed after only a few of the tapas dishes. We will definitely be coming back very soon.
I took my wife and in-laws out for my wife's birthday at Moonstones and was pleasantly surprised with how the overall vibe was but also the intuition of the waitress to know exactly when I needed another drink and when to not push for a quantity experience but a quality experience in every direction.
I have brought different family members and friends, as I feel they can experience the tapas menu and the amounts are small, but each one is unique in taste. it's an opportunity to try different foods and to share with your guest. Service has been great also.
