The brunch is delicious, as is the lunch. Great selection at the bar. Wait staff is attentive while offering seamless service. We had a great experience again.
Service was amazing and food was delicious!
Food and drink selections were wonderful; however, the steaks were not the quality that you would expect for the price. Service was weird and questionable... we didn't receive the proper number of menus, bread, glasses, utensils, etc. and were not given forks or knives when dinner arrived. One member of the group repeatedly had to stand up and find servers to help us.
Always a great experience.
They complicate good "Mains" with unwanted sides but made well. The noise level was a bit too much. The service was great and the prices in line. Wine by the glass was good but not much of choice.
This is a great spot, atmosphere and great service. Ask for Mark he will hook you up; very attentive and knows all the good drinks.
Nice ambiance and yummy food. Kids eat free and the kids portions were huge! Inventive cocktail list.
The calamari is to die for. The drinks are awesome. Great food and drinks. Worth it!
Great for girls night out. We are in our 60’s Initially the music was too loud for conversation But the server lowered it and the evening was perfect. Thank you for an enjoyable eve. We will be back
Great food, great service, great place! Moonshine NEVER disappoints!
Our server Ozzie was very attentive and knowledgeable - great dinner!!!
Great service and meal. Friendly staff.
Moonshine Supper Club was a great find for us. Love the ambiance, the fact there is absolutely no rush to leave, and the friendliness of the staff. Drinks are fantastic and the food delicious. While we don't have kids, I can appreciate how family friendly it is. We always have a great time coming here and is a default restaurant for us to take people to.
Had no idea what to expect....was terrific ...will def go back...group of 4 ordered martinis and most of the apps...everything was delicious....no rushing by waiter.....very very good...
Aweful. I got the hanger steak and it was like shoe leather. Probably the worst steak I have ever had. The service wasn't much better. After the food was served, the manager came over to ask how everything was - before I had a chance to take a bite. After that, we never saw the waiter or manager until I had to get up and ask for the check. Very disappointing. Total rip-off. We were looking forward to going there. Stick with the lunch menu - sandwiches, burgers, etc. They are probably a safer choice.
We told waiter we needed to be out quickly because we were going to a show, and food took 40 minutes to come out - about 30 minutes before the show! Needless to say it was not a relaxing meal. My wife ordered the trout, which was extremely overpriced - she said it was nothing special - she’s had better at home
Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service!
This was my third visit to the restaurant and it gets better every time. I have been there twice pre-theater and once for brunch. The menu features an eclectic (but not intimidating) variety of foods and drinks offered at attractive prices. The service was outstanding! The waitstaff is personable without being intrusive. I have recommended this to my friends as a great brunch option and perfect for before and after a show at The Papermill Playhouse!
Great experience, I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant with a party of over 20. Thank you, thank you for making my 30th Birthday Celebration the best ever! The food was great! My primary waiter/ server was wonderful. He had some help towards the end of the night who was not too much of a helping hand and made things a little confusing, I believe that’s something that will improve in the future. Overall great experience, thank you Victor and staff for a wonderful night!!!
Everything started out wonderful with the staff working to accommodate us And having wonderful drinks with a truly amazing, talented and friendly bartender! After that things quickly deteroriated with the waiter opening And serving the wrong wine. My appetizer was served incorrectly and then our steaks were served without the sides we ordered. After waiting 10 minutes, we flagged down a manager who barely apologized. When the sides finally arrived they didn't have serving pieces. My filet was extremely undercooked And when this was brought to the waiters attention nothing was done. We ordered coffeeand cappuccinos which had to be returned after waiting forever because they were all milk! Dessert was served 20 minutes before the coffee and once again without utensils! We finally asked another server to help us and she was pleasant and helpful even she commented o. How The table was cluttered the entire night with empty glasses and a bread basket that were never cleared. They deducted the side dishes but no one from management came to see us again or to follow up. It seemed that no one cared! What a shame that we spent a lot of money on a less than average meal in a place that had the potential to be so much more!!
This was our 5th or 6th time at Moonshine. It is has been "the" place we select for pre- show eats before Paper Mill Playhouse. We even thought about trying a new place this time just to be different and then quickly came to our senses and thought "why"? We love it at Moonshine- the service, food and drinks are consistently awesome- why risk it somewhere else? This Saturday night we were not disappointed. I had a specialty cocktail that was a masterfully made mix of sweet and spicy--- amazing!! I had the chefs special seafood appetizer and then the tuna entrée. It was so deliciously unique and artfully executed. My husband is a creature of habit and ONLY gets a salad, the grilled hanger steak (medium) and mashed potatoes. Its amazingly the same every single time! Awesome!
We had tickets to a show at the Paper Mill Playhouse and wanted something fun and close to the theater. We have heard of Moonshine and wanted to try it for years so this was our chance. Well, we were not disappointed at all! Even though there were some parties going on we were seated right away, there is an extensive drink menu which we especially enjoyed all the special bar drinks, they are fun and creative. We were pleased to find the menus trending in a contemporary direction with emphasis on lean, fresh and organic fare food. I have to say everything we had was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation.
We got at the restaurant at 6:30 for an 8 o’clock show. it took over a half an hour to get our drinks. We finally got our dinner about 730. Two of the dinners were cold. Had to eat them because we had no time to send them back.
Pre theater dinner with friends. Cocktail menu tickled our fancy. Chef accommodated special requests. Food was served promptly, beautifully presented and very yummy.
Too few guests in the dining room, hope more folks discover this treasure!
Great as always! Best place for brunch :-)
The food was good but my friend's salmon arrived totally overcooked and the server acknowledged it but still served it. The manager also acknowledged
it and when we complained they had already put another salmon on the grill. Seemed that the customer service, (tried to get away with serving a bad piece of salmon) was a little backwards. Waiter was very nice but incredibly slow.
A fine spot for dining before the show at Paper Mill, we will go back for a casual dinner. The menu had choices for every one. Ambiance was comfortable and our server was great. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient.
As for food, we all three ordered the winter risotto. The portion was ample and it had all the ingredients mentioned on the menu. We all cleaned our plates. We split the ceasar & beet salads first. They were nice size and tasty. We didn’t order dessert but the choices were great!
Great evening overall- good and service were attentive and on point! Nick was our waiter and was great at describing specials and other menu items. I’ve been here a few times and this was the best experience. Thank you!
We had dinner at MoonShine. The place is a casual restaurant with 2 downstairs dining rooms and one upstairs. The service was excellent and my husband enjoyed his meal
Very much. I thought my food was ok. I thought my dish was to spicy even though they said no spices were added. I will try this restaurant again because some of the dishes are unique and make sure I order a dish that is plainer.
Good food, great service, interesting cocktails. A reasonable wine list with good value. Need to bring the desserts up a notch as they're only average. Likely to come back again.
Great pre-theater (Paper Mill) dining. The homemade cheese with honey was delicious and all entrees tasty. Top it off with good wine and cocktail menu and you have a great place to gather with friends or family.
Perfect place for an interesting meal pre-theater. Within walking distance of Paper Mill Play house. Roughly 1/3 of what we spent in NYC the night before on a 3-course, 2 drin each dinner. Order and split the bread pudding dessert - FABULOUS!
The restaurant’s main dining room was being set up for a group later in the evening so we had to sit in a GE bar area which was pretty noisy
Upon first arriving, I knew very little about the restaurant, but I was very pleased with its modern Art Deco style. I walked into a metropolitan restaurant in the middle of Millburn!
The menu was quite eclectic and had a great variety without being pages long. My husband and I went tapas-style and settled on ordering a few appetizers which was more than enough. I highly recommend the calamari.
The only real hiccup the restaurant had was the service when it was crowded. While the service was great when we first arrived since there were only a handful of people. Sure enough, as the night continued and became increasingly busy, the service became more sparse, as if they didn’t know how to handle a huge influx of people all at once.
Overall, we enjoyed our time and food at the restaurant.
Took my boyfriend to Moonshine for his birthday and we absolutely loved it. Our server Elyse was fantastic. Would totally recommend the calamari - we both agreed that it was the best calamari that we have ever had!
Exceptional wines, gourmet menu at reasonable prices, great happy hour, all topped off by an attentive owner and staff!!!
We were not very impressed. We started off ordering cocktails, ordered three mojitos only to find out they ran out of mint. Instead of asking us they just went ahead and made them with syrup. We returned the drinks but were billed for them anyway.
Our server was not very attentive. Two of our party ordered rare tuna which came out in a strange gray color. The flavor was all right but the presentation was horrible. Overall we did not feel that it was very good value.
Apparently the restaurant was closed to re-do their floors. Unfortunately, they didn't let us know and I was meeting a client. Very unprofessional.
Great food, place, people
Wouldn’t recommend for date or business meal, especially on weekend. Ok food for families with small kids. Since we don’t have small kids I don’t think we’ll ever come back
