Moonshadows Ratings and Reviews
Very impressed with this new find! Beautiful view of the Pacific, and excellent food to boot. My spicy Ahi Tuna and fried Calamari were perfectly done, and the desserts were fabulous (we tried the chocolate souffle and the excellent banana concoction).
Above all the service was very responsive despite the place being very busy. We'll be back again, and soon!
Amazing views! Amazing food! We were a little late to our reservation (15 minutes) but they seated us right away and took no time getting our food and drinks prepared. The only con: the kitchen closes promptly, and if you plan on eating on a night that isn't too busy (like us), you might encounter issues trying to get your entire order in. Other than that, an amazing dining experience.
Came on a Saturday night for a Birthday and the restaurant wasn’t too busy at all, it was nice and quaint and the service was amazing they even remembered the Birthday and brought a cake out. The only suggestion I would have however is for a menu expansion/upgrade .... there were no vegetarian or chicken options for appetizers and no vegetarian option for dinner either, however the chickens as amazing.
Been coming here regularly for 10 years. This time the food was off , perhaps due to post new year’s sloppiness? Disappointing to have overlooked fish that had the texture of recent frozen without proper defrost. LaRue was a delightful server and Erik at the bar was awesome.
Started with a poor valet experience but was remedied when we were leaving. The valet lines need to be more clearly defined. The food was just okay and for a NYE celebration it was too subdued, especially considering the price. The food wasn’t fresh (sat under heat lamps).
All dishes ordered by our group were outstanding. We had very attentive service. The wine selection was excellent.
My ranking of noise level may be incorrect because it’s unclear what the bars mean. However, the noise level was perfect and so enjoyable compared to loud, noisy restaurants.
Moonshadows never disappoints. The ambiance and views are amazing. Surf, sun, gulls, sometimes dolphins... Staff is always friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are top notch. It's a great place to take out of town guests because it's really got a "wow" factor.
One of my Favorite spots on the West side of town. On Christmas eve.... Shrimp and scallops omlete was to die for....... sitting outside watching the ocean all afternoon while sipping champagne.... living the high life. Staff was super friendly. For a change it wasn't too busy so it made it all the more enjoyable. Thanks for a great day in California.
We went for our anniversary lunch and were so happy with the choice. The view is amazing, we sat on the open deck to make the most of it. The food and service were great, just right for a seaside joint, not pretentious, friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good with enough on the brunch menu to keep most people happy. My only little issue were the eggs that I asked for over easy were actually raw, so I left them.
We went for our 4th anniversary, and showed up early for our reservation, but were seated immediately with no hassle, and had an amazing table with a view of the sunset, and dolphins swimming by. The waiters, waitresses, and busboys were all great.
The food was really good, and just a perfect atmosphere.
I had the lobster and crab linguine. It was truly satisfying and delicious. Loved the chill vibe not too loud, loved my view (outdoors) really loved my drink! Pineapple mint whisky (forgot the name) didn't really like my appetizer ut was octopus with beans. I liked the texture was just missing a bit of flavor, may be salt. I loved this place and can't wait till my next day off to come back.
